George Paul Lightcap, 83, formerly of East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, died Wednesday morning at 8:56 AM in Heatherbank Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, Lancaster County, where he resided since January 14, 2004. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late John A. and Elizabeth (Bright) Lightcap. A former resident of Reading, he played baseball for many years in various leagues, had been offered try-outs with two major league teams, and later coached several leagues in Berks County. Lightcap served as a Corporal in the Army during World War II during which he was assigned to entertaining fellow troops with boxing matches and playing baseball. He retired in 1998 after 14 years with Dorma Door Control, Inc., Reamstown. Previously he had retired from Aluminum Alloys, Sinking Spring, and had also worked at ITT Grinnell, Columbia. George also enjoyed fishing and was an avid collector of old cowboy movies. Surviving is a daughter, Mary Ann (Lightcap), marriage to Albert Getz, Maytown, PA; a son, Tracy, marriage to Sandra (Bucca) Lightcap, Fleetwood, PA; a step-daughter, Elna (Scott), marriage to Glen Yoh, Reading; a step-son, Joe Scott, Jr., Lancaster; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several step-grand and great-grandchildren; a brother, William, husband of Sandra Lightcap, Columbia, PA; and a sister, Ruth (Lightcap) Heck, Shillington, PA. In addition to his wives he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mildred (Lightcap) Chase and Sarah (Lightcap) Houck, and 2 brothers, John Lightcap and Roy “Barney” Lightcap, Sr.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 5, 2004, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Queen Street, Maytown, Lancaster County, PA. The service celebrating George's life will begin at 11:00 AM with The Reverend Robert Lescallette officiating.
The burial will immediately follow in Maytown Union Cemetery (adjoining the church), East Donegal Township, Lancaster County, PA. Military honors will be accorded by Red Rose Veteran's Honor Guard of Lancaster County.
Thomas L. Lockner "Thom"
October 1, 1923 - January 7, 2003
Thomas L. Lockner, 79, of 34 Hawk Valley Lane, Denver, Lancaster County, formerly of Springfield, Delaware County; Long Meadows, Massachusettes; and New Brunswick, New Jersey, died Tuesday morning at 4:00 AM in the Essa Flory Hospice Center, East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, where he was a patient since December 28, 2002.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Joseph G. and Mary R. (Kraus) Lockner, and was the husband for 54 years of Irene E. (Demian) Lockner.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion of Springfield, Delaware County, PA.
Retiring in 1987, he was employed for many years as the manager of operations & construction for Amtrak, Philadelphia.
Lockner was a member of the Springfield Lions Club, Delaware County, PA, current president of the Hawk Valley Condominium Association, Denver, PA, and enjoyed Golfing and Hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Mark J., marriage to Sandy L. (Maroon) Lockner, Milltown, NJ; a daughter, Janice (Lockner) Holmwood-Dant, marriage to Kevin Dant, Middletown, DE; 4 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Joseph Lockner, New Brunswick, NJ; and Richard Lockner, Melbourne, FL.
Thom's viewing will be held from our funeral parlor on Friday, January 10, 2003, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and also on Saturday, January 11, 2003, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
The funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating. Final disposition will be private.

Tou Xai Lor and Chia (Yang) Lor, of 1380 Alleghenyville Road, Mohnton, Berks County, Pennsylvania, lost their little girl, Lucy Diamond Lor, on Sunday morning, August 24, 2003, in Ephrata Community Hospital. She was prematurely stillborn.
Please remember the Lor Family during this difficult time.
Lucy was buried privately by her family on Wednesday, August 27, 2003, in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, PA.
Adelene K. Lorah

Adelene K. Lorah, 85, of Mohnton RD 3, formerly of Adamstown and Leola, died Tuesday at 5:35 PM in the residence of her grandson, Jan C. Johnson. Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Jennie (Kachel) Witwer. Her husband, Ivan G. Lorah, died June 24, 1992. She was a member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver. Mrs. Lorah was employed for over 30 years by Bollman Hat Factory, Adamstown, retiring in 1978. Surviving in addition to her grandson, is a son, Jack M. Lorah, Leola; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Marie Shelly, Ephrata, and a brother, William Witwer, Denver. A daughter, John D. Johnson, also preceded her in death.
Adelene's viewing will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2001, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Jeffrey K. Lott will officiate. Burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township, PA.

Anna A. Lorah, age 85, formerly of 8 Summit Drive, Stevens, Lancaster County, died Saturday, August 27, 2005, at 7:00 PM in Ephrata Manor, Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, where she resided since May. Born Sept. 20, 1919, in Cumru Twp., Berks County, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Lucy (Knable) Schutter. Her husband Edwin S. Lorah, died June 14, 1985. A member of Peace United Church of Christ, Swartzville, Lancaster County, she worked at the former Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing; Grants and Reliable Dress Shop, both formerly of Ephrata; and last for Mt. Bethany Company, Reamstown. A graduate of Mohnton High School, she also volunteered for many years at Ephrata Community Hospital. Surviving are 2 daughters, Nancy J., wife of Jack P. McGowan, Stevens, PA, and Margaret A., wife of Michael T. Sweigart, Omaha, NE; a son, James R., husband of Sandra (Ream) Lorah, Bernville, PA; 10 Grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray O. Schutter, Cincinnati, OH. 3 brothers, Warrren, Paul and A. Russell Schutter preceded her in death.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at 11:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating.

Robert E. Lorah

Robert E. Lorah, 69, of 217 Terrace Gardens, Manheim, Lancaster County, formerly of Denver, Lancaster County, died Friday at 6:25 PM at Pleasant View Retirement Community where he resided since March 16. Born in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Ray S. and Edith W. (Zerbe) Lorah, and was the husband of Elva R. (Renninger) Lorah for 50 years on January 12th. Last working in 1999, he was employed in the meat department of Weaver’s Markets, Adamstown, and had previously worked in the meat department at Martin’s Country Market, Ephrata. Earlier he worked for J. Roy Wise Construction, Bowmansville, and Lanchester Land Fill, Honeybrook. He had also assisting in running the family farm for many years. Lorah was a collector of “International” Pickup Trucks and other antiquities, an avid hunter and loved gardening. He volunteered with many of the Fivepointville Fire Company fund raising activities over the years. Surviving in addition to his wife, are 2 daughters, Joan D. (Lorah), marriage to Gerald W. Martin, Lebanon, PA; and Barbara A. (Lorah) Lehman, Brickerville, PA; 2 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Alton R., marriage to Gail (Sweigart) Lorah, Denver, PA; and Douglas L., marriage to Cynthia L. (Leaman) Lorah, Bowmansville, PA. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Richard G. and Eugene R. Lorah, and a brother, Samuel P. Lorah.
Robert's viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our funeral home. Funeral services will be from our parlor on Wednesday, August 14, 2002, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Kelly Sensenig officiating. The burial will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, PA.

Kenneth E. Ludwig, Jr., age 29, of 11 South Farmersville Road, Leola, West Earl Township, Lancaster County, was killed by a passing Amtrak train in East Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. The coroner’s office ruled the death accidental. Born April 6, 1976, in Lancaster, PA, he was a son of Kenneth E., Sr., and Miriam L. (Shirey) Ludwig, with whom he resided. A 1995 graduate of Conestoga Valley High School, he was a member of Community Bible Church, Leola, and worked at Giant Food Store, Leola. Surviving in addition to his parents are 2 sisters, Renee (Ludwig), wife of Larry W. Hammaker, Jr., Mt. Joy, Lancaster County, PA ; and Lori L. (Ludwig), wife of Jeffrey D. Groff, Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA.
Baroness Foundation - The ceremony celebrating Ken's life will be held at our funeral home on Wednesday morning, August 24, 2005, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Phil Towles officiating.
There will be no viewing.
Ken will be buried in Muddy Creek Cemetery, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, PA.
