Jason S. Mastle, 23, of 761 Hopeland Road, Lititz, Lancaster County ( Clay Township ), died in an automobile accident Saturday, March 19, 2005, on Route 322 west of Ephrata. Born January 6, 1982, he was the son of Karl David and Lisa J. (Eberly) Mastle, Lititz. A 2000 graduate of Ephrata High School, he was employed for the past 3 years by Frey Lutz Corporation, Lancaster, as a sheet metal mechanic. Jason was a member of Slammed Extreme Car Club, Lebanon, PA, and worked on the pit crew with Premier Collision. Surviving in addition to his parents is a daughter, Alexis Karly Nichole Mastle, Reamstown, and the mother of his child, Melissa Leisey, Reamstown; Paternal grandmother, Arlene (Dissinger) Schlicher, Lititz, PA; Paternal step-grandfather, Richard Schlicher, Lititz, PA; Paternal great-grandmother, Alverta (Redcay) Dissinger, Manheim, PA, and his girlfriend, Candice Weaver, with whom he resided.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our funeral home.
Private inurnment will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Brickerville, Lancaster County, PA.

Robert M. Ludlow "Thom"
March 22, 1924 - May 29, 2003
Robert M. Ludlow, 79, of 45 Stony Run Village, Denver, Lancaster County, formerly of West Chester, and Wilmington, DE, died unexpectedly at his residence Thursday afternoon. Born in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late Albert and Helen E. (Marshall) Ludlow, and was the husband of Lillian M. (Hollon) Ludlow for 18 years. Ludlow was a truck driver for much of his life having worked for Tranmaterial, West Chester. He had also been a supervisor with Scott Paper, Essington, many years ago. He had been employed as a security guard for Henry Schein Inc. and Acme-Albertson’s warehouse, both of Denver, PA. He was also a part-time employee at Weaver’s Markets, Adamstown. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran of the Navy and was a member of the West Chester VFW and enjoyed camping. Surviving in addition to his wife are 6 children, Robert W. Ludlow, marriage to Rose Lambert-Ludlow, Drexel Hill, PA; Robin (Ludlow), marriage to Ron Wink, Schwenksville, PA; Robert M., Jr., marriage to Sandy Ludlow, Greenville, DE; Tina (Dryer) Ensor, Morgantown, PA; Frankie (Dryer), marriage to James Galloway, Phoenix, AZ; and Ron, marriage to Stephanie King, Sadsburyville, PA; and 10 grandchildren.
There will be a memorial visitation held to honor the life of Robert on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2003, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our parlors. The family will recieve friends and share fond memories during this time.
There will be no viewing and final disposition will be private.
Mae L. Messner
August 26, 1916 - August 22, 2005
Mae L. Messner, age 88, formerly of Bowmansville, Lancaster County, died Monday, August 22, 2005, at 8:20 PM in Conestoga View, Lancaster, where she resided since February 9, 1996. Born August 26, 1916, in Lititz, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Ella (Schaeffer) Heck. Her husband, Chester Messner, died December 17, 1996. She was a member of Mt. Culmen Evangelical Congregational Church, East Earl, and made handicrafts in her home. Mae showed at various craft fairs in Lancaster, Berks and Lebanon Counties. She was a 1956 graduate of York Practical Nursing School, and had worked in several hospitals many years ago. Surviving is a daughter, Esther M., wife of Franklin D. Messner, Dover, PA ; a son, Lloyd E., husband of Mary (La Follette) Messner, Fredericksburg, VA ; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A son, Keith Messner, and a daughter, Mary Jane Detweiler, preceded her in death.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at 2:00 PM from our parlor. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Center Union Cemetery, East Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA.

Margaret Louise Metcalf "Peggy"
January 28, 1940 - October 13, 2005
Margaret Louise “Peggy” Metcalf, 65, formerly of Reamstown and West Reading, died Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 5:55 AM in St. Anne’s Retirement Community, West Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. Born January 28, 1940, in Mountville, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Schopf) Nelson. She retired from ManorCare Skilled Nursing of West Reading, Berks County. Surviving is a son, Marvin, husband of Jennifer (Ondrus) Metcalf, Landisville, PA ; a grandson, Matthew; and a sister, Betty Wade, Ephrata, PA. Peggy was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Nelson.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34-38 North Reamstown Road, Reamstown, PA 17567.
Final disposition will be private.
Margaret C. McQuate
August 2, 1905 - March 29, 2005
Margaret C. McQuate, 99, of 118 Maple Street, Cornwall, Lebanon County, formerly of Glenwood Drive, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died March 29, 2005, at 1:25 PM in Maple Farms Nursing Center, Akron, Lancaster County. Born August 2, 1905, in Cornwall, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Rebecca (Yeingst) Sheetz, and was the widow of Alvin M. McQuate, who died December 5, 1984. She attended the Cornwall Elementary School. Retiring in 1970, Margaret had worked 44 years for W. W. Moyer, Inc., Ephrata. A member of Washington Avenue Bible Church, Ephrata, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening and her family. Surviving are 2 daughters, Betty J., wife of John J. Edwards, Ephrata; and Louise, wife of Dr. James A. Lundquist, with whom she last resided, Cornwall ; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, I. Galen McQuate and grandson, Randall Edwards.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
Services will be held on Saturday morning, April 2, 2005, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown, with Pastor Bill Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Mohler's Cemetery, Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, PA.

E. Pauline Miller
July 27, 1918 - October 19, 2005

E. Pauline “Polly” Miller, 87, formerly of Ephrata and Akron, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in Ephrata Manor where she resided for the past 5 years. Born July 27, 1918, in Montchanin, Delaware, she was a daughter of the late Levi L. and Minnie G. (Mohler) Miller. Polly was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ, Ephrata, where she was one of the first women on consistory and former secretary, taught Sunday school, member of the Merry Elders and 25 year choir member. A 1936 graduate of Ephrata High School, she was captain of the girls basketball team and played track and volleyball. She was also an avid tennis player, swimmer, bicycler, and enjoyed modern and square dancing. She had also played clarinet with the Ephrata American Legion Band. She worked many years for Miley Bros. Dairy and later Penn Dairies, Ephrata, and later managed Penn Ag, Ephrata, until retiring in 1980. Surviving are 2 sisters, Mildred B. Shaull, Ojai, California, and S. Elizabeth Enck, Montoursville, PA ; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2005, at 11:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Inc., Reamstown. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10 to 11 AM.
Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery, Akron, PA.

LeRoy McDennis
October 17, 1931 - December 28, 2003
LeRoy McDennis, 72, of 335 Jefferson Road, Adamstown, Lancaster County, was dead on arrival at the emergency room of Ephrata Community Hospital. His death followed a brief illness. Born in Denver, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late William and Florence (Firestone) McDennis, and was the husband of Mary K. (Hassler) McDennis for 48 years on November 19th. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown. Retiring in 1993, he was employed in the shipping department of Carpenter Technology, Reading, for 32 years. He had also been employed many years ago by the Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown. LeRoy was a member of the Adamstown VFW and the Adamstown Fire Police. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and yard work. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Thomas A. Hassler, Wernersville, PA; and a grandson, Brion. Also surviving is a sister, Lucy (McDennis), marriage to Lloyd Good, Ephrata, PA; and a brother, Russell, marriage to Sandra McDennis, Mohnton, PA.
A viewing will be held from our parlors on Friday afternoon, January 2, 2004, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Services will begin at 3:00 PM with his pastor, The Reverend Sandra L. Gideon, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA.
