Doris Tredinnick
May 20, 2000
Doris L. Tredinnick, 84, formerly of South Sherman Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a resident for more than seven years.

Born March 19, 1916, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Rowena Davis Gillman. She was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School and was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and the Women's Fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Tredinnick; sister, Rowena Gillman; and brother, Harry Gillman.

Surviving are her sons, John E. Tredinnick, Wilkes-Barre; James H. Tredinnick, Dayton, Ohio; sister, Emma Simms, Mountaintop; brother, James Gillman, Stroudsburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to Albright United Methodist Church or to Little Flower Manor.

Vance Dwyer

Vance B. Dwyer, 61, of Harveys Lake, died Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Gertrude M. Bell Dwyer, of Harveys Lake, and the late Thomas J. Dwyer Sr. He was a graduate of Westmoreland High School, Kingston Township.

He was employed as a security guard for most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He was accredited for his volunteer work at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, during the Agnes Flood.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 25 years, the former Beatrice Weiss; daughters, Brenda Bloom and Heather Roxby; brother, Thomas Jr.; sister, Gertrude Lechmanik; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.

Peter Krenitsky
May 20, 2000
Peter W. Krenitsky, of Old Forge, died Saturday at his home.

Born June 19, 1915, in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Wasil and Antoinette Dreater Krenitsky. He was a graduate of Old Forge High School. He graduated from the National Schools in Los Angeles, where he completed training in communications. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served as a first sergeant and received the Good Conduct Medal.

Before retiring, he was employed as a quality assurance specialist for Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of St. Michael's Russian Orthodox Church, Old Forge. He and his wife, the former Stella Minnick, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Jan. 10.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Stephen; sisters, Mildred Shedlar and Alice Gambal; and brother, Paul.

Surviving are his sons, Thomas and Stephen Krenitsky, both of Old Forge; brother, George, Old Forge; sisters, Anna Jadick and Marie Horek, both of Old Forge; Rose Kokoran, Taylor; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's R.O. Church, with the Rev. David Mahaffey officiating. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Old Forge. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Parastas services will be at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. David Mahaffey officiating.

Joseph Bogansky
May 18, 2000
Joseph G. Bogansky, of Alvin Street, Freeland, died Thursday at Hazleton General Hospital.

Born in Drifton, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Hoystrich) Bogansky. He was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Freeland. He was employed by Foster Wheeler Co. before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adele (Kernevich) Bogansky; brother, George; and sister, Helen.

Surviving are his wife, Irene (Gorski) Bogansky; son, Ronald, Kutztown; step children, William Gorski, Freeland; Diane Mulshine, Richmond, Va.; Richard Gorski, San Jose, Calif.; sister, Margaret Milcarek, Freeland; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Cotterall-Petrilli Funeral Home, 706 Birkbeck St., Freeland. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. The Roman Catholic Community of Freeland will hold a bereavement service this evening.

Charlotte Stachowicz
May 11, 2000
Charlotte A. Stachowicz, of Penfield, N.Y., and formerly of Swoyersville, died May 11.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph; daughters, Joanne Barnickel, Robin Swarthout and Lisa Lewis; son, Frank Moss, Swoyersville; brother, Henry Barnickel; and five grandchildren.

Services were held in Rochester, N.Y. Arrangements were by the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., Fairport, N.Y.

Kenneth Lennon
May 19, 2000
Kenneth L. Lennon, 66, a resident of West Hartford Street, Ashley, died Friday at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.

Born April 12, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late David and Mildred Eckenstein Lennon. He was a graduate of Meyers High School and West Chester State College, where he earned a degree in physical education.

He was a physical education and driver's education instructor in the Avon Grove, Pa., School District for many years. He was later employed by the Salvation Army and the Western Southern Life Insurance Co. before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post 815, Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, the former Jill Hewitt; sons, Kenneth L. Lennon Jr., West Chester; Robert Luminella, Nanticoke; daughters, Kim Judge, Hanover Township; Julie Ann Seiple, West Chester; brother, David Lennon, Fairless Hills; sisters, Ruth Tosh, Yardley; Joyce Hoover, Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. Arrangements are by the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.

Rebecca Weiskerger
May 19, 2000
Rebecca C. Weiskerger, of Lacoe Street, West Pittston, died Friday.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Elmer and Helen Comstock Weiskerger. She attended Wyoming Area High School and graduated from the West Side Area Vocational Technical School in 1979. She worked at local floral greenhouses.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a brother, Jason, West Pittston; and fiance, Stanley Ropieski, Pittston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with the Rev. James E. Thyren, of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the organ fund at First Presbyterian Church, West Pittston.

William Derwin

William F. "Weezer'' Derwin died Wednesday at his home in Seattle.

Born Dec. 2, 1924, in Larksville, he was the son of the late James and Stacia Derwin. He was a graduate of Larksville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He resided in Seattle most of his life, where he was employed by A.O. Smith Water & Heater Co. and was a member of St. Alphonsus Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie; brothers, Henry, James, John J. and Paul; sisters, Ella Schacht and Elizabeth Mutone.

Surviving are his daughters, Patricia Snider, Cle Elum, Wash.; Bernial Preti, Burlington, Wash.; brothers, Thomas, Oklahoma; Andrew, New Jersey; Joseph, Plymouth; sisters, Blanche Johns, Harrisburg; Aleatha Domin, Plymouth; Peggy Mandella, New Orleans; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church, Seattle. Interment will be in Holy Road Cemetery, Seattle. Arrangements are by Fisher Kalfus Funeral Home, Seattle.
