Joseph J. Marranca, 80, of West Pittston, died Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born May 16, 1930, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Anthony and Sandra Ferrante Marranca.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He worked for Barber Ford Inc. and the Sullivan Trail Coal Co.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston, and its Holy Name Society, and a life long member of the Moose Lodge, West Pittston.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Samuel and Michael; and sisters, Louise Saitta, Florence Analore and Carmella Angelella.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Parente; sons, Joseph, West Pittston; and Paul, Swoyersville; brother, Carmen, Trenton, N.J.; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Michael Piccola officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Myers, Allison

Allison Carey Myers, 60, a lifelong resident of Mountaintop, died Sunday at St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.
Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Mountaintop, he was a son of the late William and Ruth (Carey) Myers.
He attended Mountaintop schools, including Fairview High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was a sheet metal worker by trade and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union No. 44.
He was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountaintop.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Ann Myers.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Carol Ann Kirkutis; daughters, Carolyn Kamionka, Mooresville, N.C.; and Joan Hopersberger and Renee Jumper, both of Mountaintop; 11 grandchildren; brother, Douglas, White Haven; sisters, Jacqueline Siegel, Wapwallopen; and Donna Bolt, Waxhaw, N.C.; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the David Gross Funeral Home, Pasadena, Fla.
Nardone, Josephine E.

Josephine E. Nardone, 87, a longtime resident of Kingston, died Monday at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House.
Born Oct. 18, 1913, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Maria (Pasquini) Nardone.
She was educated in Wilkes-Barre city schools and Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business.
Mrs. Nardone was affiliated with Nardone Brothers Baking Co., Wilkes-Barre, for many years.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and was active with St. Ann's Academy Mothers Club.
Her husband, Thomas P. Nardone, a public accountant, died March 13, 1962. Brothers, Frank, Anthony and Thomas Nardone also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Antoinette P. Nardone, at home; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Emil Kaegi, La Canada, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, P. Paul and Kay Nardone, Brewster, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Miles Kaegi, Thomas P. Kaegi, Pamela Rawlings, David Kaegi and Robert Nardone; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis V. and Mario J. Nardone, both of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Estelle Quinn, and Linda and Rita Nardone, all of Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from the McLaughlin Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Onuschak, Alexander

Alexander "Alex" Onuschak, 83, of Curtain Street, Pittston Township, died Saturday at Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Catasaqua, he was a son of the late Trofim and Tillie (Kytic) Onuschak.
He was a graduate of Kingston High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Purple Heart medal.
He was a letter carrier with the Wilkes-Barre post office.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Edwardsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olga.
Surviving are his sister, Alla Naugle, Forty Fort; and one niece.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at the convenience of the family from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with Archpriest Michael Slovesko, his pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
There will be no calling hours.
Stancavage, Gertrude

Gertrude G. "Trudy" (Kraft) Stancavage, 76, of Dauphin, died Monday at her home.
Born Dec. 18, 1924, in Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Kinley) Kraft.
She was a graduate of Pringle High School
She worked for Olivetti Corp., Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex N.; and brother, Frederick J. Kraft.
Surviving is her nephew, Frederick P. Kraft, Duncannon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Dauphin.
Graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown, with the Rev. Peter O'Rourke officiating.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High St., Duncannon.

Henrietta "Dolly" (Malone) Thubbron, 87, of Oak Street, Duryea, died Monday at East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.
Born in Moosic, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Maud (Flight) Malone.
She was a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Co.
She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Duryea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Herbert Rawding; sisters, Louise Rygiel and Mary Best; and brother, William Malone.
Surviving are her daughters, Louise Stasik, Duryea; and Jane Osborne, Elwood City; son, William Thubbron, Nanticoke; stepson, John Thubbron, Pittston Township; sisters, Phoebe Lidy, Orlando, Fla.; brother, Lewis Malone, Orange City, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with the Rev. Kyle Gildner of the First Primitive Methodist Church, Nanticoke, officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.

Bertha (Konopinski) Vancavage, 90, formerly of Murray Street, Forty Fort, died Saturday at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Amelia Konopinski. She was a member of Saint Ignatius Church, Kingston. Many years ago, she was an active member of Saint Casimir's Church, Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; son, Boleslaus (Bud); brothers, Anthony and Stanley Konopinski.
Surviving are her son, Edmund, Kingston; sisters, Stephanie Salata, Schuylkill Haven; and Edna Spitko, Levittown; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Ann's Chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. Thomas Petro officiating. Interment will be in Saint Casimir's Parish Cemetery, Mahanoy City. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Ruth E. (Bona) Baker, 86, of Yeardley Drive, Newport News, Va., formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday in Riverside Hospital, Newport News.
Born Aug. 27, 1914, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (George) Bona. She was a graduate of GAR High School. She attended the Welch Bethel Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was a lab technician for various private physicians in California.
Surviving are daughters, Ruth Ferran, Smithfield, Va.; Nancy Crage, Boca Raton, Fla.; Gladys Daggett, Esperance, N.Y.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Nanticoke Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Hartshorne will officiate. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
Boyanoski, Edward

Edward Boyanoski Jr., 46, of Lidys Road, Dupont, died Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the Edward and Eleanor Boyanoski.
He was a 1971 graduate of Pittston Area High School.
He worked for Plain View Tissue, Pittston Township.
He was active in the girls softball team and assistant coach at Seton Catholic High School softball team. He was a member of St. John Evangelist Church, Pittston, and a social member of the Polish American Citizens Club, Dupont.
Surviving are a son, Edward III, and a daughter, Brooke, both at home; brother, Steven, Walworth, N.Y.; sister, Janet Martin, New City, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Lokuta Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church.
Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Pittston.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
