Viola F. Tansey, 63, of Sturdevant Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday morning at the Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township.
Born on July 3, 1937, in Carmel, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Jennie Lounsbury Williams. She was a graduate of Brewster High School, Brewster, New York. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse in the Mt. Kisco area of New York.
She resided in Buck Hill, Pa. and Tampa Fla. until moving to Wilkes-Barre in 1980.
She and her husband, Patrick J. Tansey, celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on Nov. 23.
She was preceeded in death by her daughter, Marguerite Theresa; sons, Christopher Patrick; brothers, David and George Williams; sisters Bertha Hildebrand and Ruth Cargain.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are daughter, Rosemarie Abrams, Patterson, New York; four granddaughters; brother, Charles Williams, Nokomis, Fla; step-sister Nancy Porter, at home; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. from the George Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Carol E. Coleman officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania, 480 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre.

Mary T. (McGraw) Workman, formerly of Nanticoke Towers, died Monday at the Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth McGraw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brothers, Thomas and Frank.
Surviving are her brothers, James and Donald, both of Philadelphia; sisters, Margaret Mirth and Anna Aiken, both of Philadelphia; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Father Edward Kuczynski officiating.
Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Hoyce M. (Blakeslee) Hendershot, 69, of the White Haven section of Buck Township died Wednesday at home. Born in Buck Township, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Maude (Wood) Blakeslee. She worked for Roth American for many years. She was a member of the Beaumont Free Methodist Church, Buck Township.

Margaret E. (Schraeder) Warner, 94, of Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, died Tuesday at Lakeside at Willow Valley.
Born Feb. 27, 1906, in Oakdale, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hardtke) Schraeder. She was a member of Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, Weatherly and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, White Haven. She was a member of Busy Bees of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a past member and past matron of Lehigh Chapter No. 193 Order of Eastern Star and also was a Past District Deputy Grand Matron.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Louis A. Schafer, and Herbert S.; son Louis Schafer; brothers, William and Henry; and sister Gertrude Johnson.
Surviving are her son, Clinton T., Lancaster; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Saturday at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, Weatherly, with the Rev. Michele Kaufman officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.

Louis F. Kline Jr., 71, of Jenkintown died Tuesday at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Louis F. and Helen (McColey) Kline Sr. He was a graduate of Penn State University and Chicago-Kent Law School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a patent attorney for Rohm & Haas of Philadelphia. He was a member of Immaculate Conception of Jenkintown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean Marie Barvitsky; and brother, Francis Kline.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Gerard L. Kline, Mountaintop, and Paul S. Kline, Pittsburgh; brother, Robert Kline, Boca Raton, Fla.; one grandson; a niece and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from the Anthony J. Jastremski Funeral Home, 28 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Maternity, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dorrance. Rodney Jordan Janoski, 51, of Irving, Texas, died Sunday.His parents are Irene and Gus Janoski of Exeter. He was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, the University of Pittsburgh and attended Emery School of Law in Atlanta. He was retired from American Airlines and worked as a consultant for Sprint International in Dallas, Texas.
Zelinsky, Joseph

Joseph E. Zelinsky, 77 of Main Street, Luzerne died Wednesday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rachel (Janosky) Zelinsky. He attended local schools and was a 1941 graduate of the former Luzerne High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Japan. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct medal and the Medal of Valor. For many years he was the owner of ABC Beverage Distributorship, Nanticoke. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston and its Holy Name Society.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent D.
Surviving are his sons, Mark, Clermont, Fla.; and David, Edwardsville; sister, Larayne Alles, Harveys Lake; brother, Jerome E., Harveys Lake; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home Inc., 333 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann's Chapel, Hoyt Street and north Loveland Avenue, Kingston. Eugene Mosley, 80, died Tuesday at his home in South Plainfield, N.J.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he settled in South Plainfield 50 years ago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific as a ship's serviceman, second class. Mosley was a steel worker at Harris Structural Steel Co., South Plainfield before retiring 19 years ago.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Stella J. (Juzwiak) Mosley; sisters, Rachel, Ruth and Faith; and brothers, William, Robert, Reese, Frank and Chet.
Surviving are his son, Eugene G., Lawrenceville, N.J.; sister Dorothy, Wilkes-Barre; and brothers, John and Thomas, both of Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the McCriskin Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Evan Bryant, 79, of the Lee Park section of Hanover Township, died Tuesday in the Visiting Nurse Association Inpatient Hospice Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Dec. 7, 1921, in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late Evan and Hazel (Thomas) Bryant. He attended Edwardsville public schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a utility worker for 33 years at the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Co. He was a member of the Junior Mechanics, Pennsylvania Gas and Water Retirees Club and the Welsh Bethel Baptist Church, Edwardsville..
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lydia Bryant and Margaret Baul.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Lillian Kitchen; son Evan, Villanova/St. David's; daughter, Darlene Bryant, Wilkes-Barre; one grandson and one granddaughter; sisters, Sally Zeske, Kingston; Hazel Celmer, Alexandria, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Frederick and Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Jeffrey Klansek officiating. Reuben P. Bird, of Plymouth, died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Samuel and Johanna (Riley) Bird Sr. He was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School, Plymouth, and worked for the Bird Mining Co. and the Kingston Coal Co. for many years. He had later worked at the Army arsenal at Mechanicsburg for several years and, prior to retiring, worked at Atwater Throwing Mill, Plymouth. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Plymouth, and its Holy Name Society.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Edward "Ted" and Samuel Jr.; and sisters, Regina Noonan and Elizabeth C. "Betty" Bird.
Surviving are his brother, Francis E., at home; and sister, Ellis (Gertrude) Carle, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Williams Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church. John Durkovitz, 81, formerly of Mason Street, Exeter, died Tuesday in the Visiting Nurse Association Inpatient Hospice Unit at Heritage House, Exeter.
Born in Exeter, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Doban) Durkovitz. He was a graduate of Exeter High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a first sergeant in the European and African theaters in the Second Chemical Mortar Battalion Division. He worked at Sordoni Construction Co. and later retired from Commonwealth Telephone Co. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Association. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the National Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, Exeter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Durkovitz; and sister, Anna Durkovitz.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former June Williamson; daughters, Jeanne Schuler, Laflin; and Janet McGuigan, Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

Daniel Kanyuck, 83, of McAuley Drive, The Pines at Mercy Center, Dallas, and formerly of Hill Street, Nanticoke, died Tuesday in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Emergency Room.
Born Sept. 8, 1917, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Dzurica) Kanyuck. He attended Nanticoke public schools. He was a maintenance worker for Nanticoke Housing Authority for 15 years and had previously worked at the Susquehanna Colliery No. 7 of The M.A. Hanna Co. for many years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, and Nanticoke Lodge No. 541, F.& A.M.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Kanyuck and Vilma Vincent.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Anna Drevenak; sons, William, New York City; and Richard, Salt Lake City; brothers, George, Mount Holly, N.J.; William, Raritan, N.J.; and Russell, Nanticoke.

Thomas Chernasky, 47, of Plantation, Fla., died Feb. 4, at home.
Born Sept. 11, 1953, in Port Blanchard, he was the son of Theresa (Hornick) Ambrose of Wyoming and the late Charles Chernasky. He was a 1971 graduate of Pittston High School. He was a SONAR technician in the U.S. Navy for six years. He was an electrical engineer for American Sign, before being transferred to Florida. He also was a teacher at ATI Institute in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his step-fathers, Charles Greco and Edwin Ambrose.
Surviving are his son, Thomas Jr., Lake Ariel; sister, Celine Toole, Yatesville; brother, Chuck Chernasky; and a niece, nephews and a great-nephew.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church, Pittston.
