Vera Dorosky, 84, formerly of Bennett Street, Luzerne, and New York City, died Monday at Highland Manor Nursing Home, Exeter.
Born in Luzerne, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna (Hutnik) Dorosky. She was a graduate of St. John's School, Luzerne, received her nursing certification from New York University and was a private nurse. She was a member of (St. John's) Holy Family Church, Luzerne.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Moran; and brothers, Carl, Steven, George, John, Thomas, Adam and Justin.
Surviving are her brother, William, Mechanicsburg; sister, Dorothy Samuels, Wesley Village, Jenkins Township; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday from the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, Luzerne. Interment will be in St. John's Nepomucene Cemetery, Courtdale. Friends may call from noon until time of service Thursday.
Petruno, Bernadine

Bernadine Petruno, 80, of Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday at The Visiting Nurses Association, Hospice House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Glen Lyon, Newport Township, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Petruno. She was a graduate of Newport Township High School, was educated to be a beautician and practiced her profession. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret M.
There are no survivors.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home, 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Nanticoke. Friends may call from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday.

She attended Shenandoah public schools, was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Inkerman, Jenkins Township.

Brunacci, John

John Brunacci, 89, of Seneca Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born June 8, 1911, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late August and Bridgida (Petrini) Brunacci. He resided in the area his entire life and was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School. He also graduated from Dickinson College, Williamsport. Prior to his retirement, he and his wife owned and operated the Brunacci's Corner Cafe, corner of Hazle Avenue and Blackman Street, Wilkes-Barre, for 36 years. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his lifetime and a great story teller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marcella Moresco, in 1988; son, John Brunacci Jr.; and daughter, Caroline Brunacci.
Surviving are daughters, Elizabeth Arnott, Wilkes-Barre; and Diana Novosel, Wilkes-Barre; four grandsons, Michael Novosel III, John, Albert and Christopher Arnott; granddaughter-in-law, Paula (Hadvance) Novosel; two great-grandchildren, Michael Daniel and Morgan Marcella Novosel, of Mountaintop; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Bednarski Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

CConstance "Texas Rose" Cameli, 74, of Scarboro Avenue, Exeter, died Tuesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Swoyersville, she was a daughter of the lat~e George and Angelina Cameli. She attended school in Swoyersville and worked at the California Flower Co., West Pittston and Fluff Cleaners, Pittston. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Exeter, and sang with a local band.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard and George; and sister, Carol.
Surviving are her brothers, Joseph, Pittsfield, Mass.; and Ralph, California, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Friday from the Frank A. Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Becker) Earnhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Arvelle Ervin; and brothers, William, George, John and Delmas.
Surviving are his daughter, Carolecq Hook, White Haven; two grandsons, four great-grandchildren; and sister, Wilhelmina Olhanoski, White Haven.

Mary Ann Evarts, 56, of North Mill Street, West Nanticoke, died Monday at home.
Born Oct. 26, 1943, in West Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary (Phillips) Houck. She was a graduate of the Sara J. Hale School, Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a licensed beautician. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Nanticoke, and the Firwood Methodist Church Rainbow Girls Assembly No. 5. She was also a member of the Tilbury Fire Co. and the Tilbury Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, having held many offices in both. She was a judge of elections in Plymouth Township.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond J., Sr.; daughter, Ginger, Plymouth Township; sons, Raymond, Jr., Hanover Township; and Andy, West Nanticoke; six grandchildren; sister, Beverly Delkanic, Hunlock Creek; and brothers, Oliver "Corky" Houck, West Nanticoke Heights; and Arthur Houck.

Marjorie L. Harrington, 87, formerly of Ludington, Mich., and Wooser, Ohio, died Sunday at the Westview Manor Retirement Center, Wooster, Ohio.
Born June 30, 1913, in Slocum Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Myers) Jones. She was a graduate of Bloomsburg State Teachers College and was a grade school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent R.; and sister, Dorothy Arnold.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Anderson, Wooster, Ohio; sisters, Marion Shelhamer, Mildred Marchetti and Shirley Shelhamer, all of Drums, Butler Township; Dolores Rinehimer, Slocum Township; brothers, Walter Jones, Berwick; Robert Jones, Mitchellville, Md.; and Charles Jones, Slocum Township; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Faith United Methodist Church, Slocum Township. The Rev. Leslie Halchak will officiate. Joseph J. Zakoski, 95, of Old Forge, died Monday at the VNA Hospice at the Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife of 61 years, the former Victoria Przywara, died shortly after him.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., he was a son of the late Joseph and Petronella (Zeladowa) Zakauskas. He was a coal miner and a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge.
Surviving are his son, Hank, Moosic; one grandson; brother, Jay Zack, Tunkhannock; sister, Marie Butera, Pittston; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Palermo and Zawacki Funeral Home, Inc., 409 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church. The Rev. James J. Lacomis, of Mercer Street, Plains Township, died Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of William F. and Helen (Timko) Lacomis. He was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, a machinist for the Chamberlain Corp., Scranton, and member of Sacred Heart Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Anna Lacomis and maternal grandparents, John and Anna Timko.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his brother, William F., Jr., Nanticoke; sister, Ann Kobusky, Edwardsville; and one nephew.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, Inc., Nanticoke. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Monsignor John J. Sempa officiating. Interment was in the parish Cemetery, Dallas.

John A. Malicki, 73, of Maffet Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Feb. 8, 1927, in Larksville, he was a son of the late Walter and Anna (Kubish) Malicki. He was a graduate of Larksville High School and an electrician at the Atwater Throwing Co., Plymouth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and member of the American Legion Post 0558, Plains Township.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Phillips, Catherine Wasco, Isabelle Mallis and Helen McHugh; brothers, Michael and James; and granddaughters, Diana and Jillian Swan.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, the former Joan Heslop; sons, William, at home; John and Mark, both of Georgia; and Walter, Florida; stepdaughters, Karen Bosek, Carol Swan and Holly Lingel, all of Wilkes-Barre; and Diane Larrison, Dillsburg; 12 grandchildren, one nephew and nieces.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. George Paul Murray, 60, of Simpson Street, Swoyersville, died July 11, 2000, at Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late George Murray and Mary (Kennedy) Murray. He was a member of Holy Name-St. Mary's Church, Swoyersville. He worked as a plumber and in landscaping with Green Valley Landscaping, Inc., in Plains, for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and in the 109th Military.
He was preceded in death by his dog, Blue, who was his faithful friend and companion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Sobeck; mother, Mary (Kennedy) Murray; sister, Patricia Kubinetz, of Luzerne; daughters, Maureen Morgan, of Newtown; Suzanne Hannon, of Wilkes-Barre; sons, George, at home; and Michael, of Forty Fort; one grandson, Jerome Hannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the John W. Frank Funeral Home, 124 S. William E. Youngdahl, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., formerly of Tunkhannock, died Monday.
Born July 11, 1916, in Brockport, he was a son of the late William J. and Lulu (Brian) Youngdahl. He was a 1938 graduate of Penn State University, worked with the American Breeders Service and was a county agent for Tioga and Lycoming counties. She was a member of Irem Temple, Tunkhannock Rotary, Williamsport Consistory and Muncy Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth (Hunter) Youngdahl, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; son, Robert, Chatsworth, Calif.; daughters, Lois Clark, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.; and Barbara Meissonnier, Biot, France; five grandchildren, one great-grandson; and brother, Ray, Brockport.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. today from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock. The Rev. Roger Richards will officiate. Victoria Zakoski, 93, of Old Forge, died Monday at the VNA Hospice at the Community Medical Center, Scranton. Her husband, Joseph, preceded her in death earlier that morning.
Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Wojciech and Sophia (Jasion) Przywara. She worked at Cedar Throwing Mills, Scranton, and was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge, where she was active in the parish, and member of its church choir and Sodality.
Surviving are her son, Hank, Moosic; one grandson; brothers, Walter, Taylor; and Henry, Old Forge; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, Michael and Frank; and sisters, Julia Ferrett, Anna Zimak, Mary Cohowicz; Bertha and Stasia.

Catherine "Katie" Suscavage, 91, of North Street, Plymouth, died Tuesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born March 5, 1909, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Macey) Elencik. She attended Plymouth schools and the Wilkes-Barre Business College, was associated with the family-owned tavern, Elencik's, and was a house parent at the Glen Miles School for Boys. She was a member of the St. Stephen's-St. Mary's Church Community, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Anna Dural; and brother, Joseph Elencik.
Surviving are her sister, Mary Frankovich, Sugar Notch; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church, Plymouth. Julia Ritzie, 91, of Center Street, Dupont, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born Jan. 6, 1909, in Dupont, she was a daughter of the late Valentine and Anna Rydzy. She attended Dupont schools and worked at the Sauquoit Fibers Co., Scranton. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bertha, Mary and Della; and brothers, Joseph, Karl and Andrew.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. Thursday from the Stephen M. Lokuta Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church.
