Anna Urbanovich, of First Avenue, Kingston, formerly of Swoyersville, died Tuesday at her home.
Born in Lithuania, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Anna (Wychulis) Kamus. She worked at the General Cigar Factory, Kingston, and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, formerly St. Ann's Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Charnetski; second husband, Edward Urbanovich; brothers, John, Alfred and Frank; and sisters, Bernice Kennedy, Connie Urban and Elizabeth Gerald.
Surviving are her son, Anthony Charnetski, Nanticoke; daughter, Mary Ann Barilla, Swoyersville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Adam Kamus, Cocoa, Fla.; sisters, Genevieve Deren, Perkasie; Mary Ann Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann's Church, Luzerne. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

John Charles Youngblood, 74, of Gainesville, Va., died Aug. 17 at his home from cancer.
He was born Nov. 15, 1925, in the Shavertown section of Kingston Township. He was a 1943 graduate of Kingston Township High School, Trucksville section of Kingston Township, received his bachelor's degree in health and physical education from East Stroudsburg University and an advanced master's degree in education from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He coached football at Washington-Lee High School, where his teams won three North Virginia championships and one state championship. He was involved in many Virginia and national athletic associations and committees, received many awards for athletic achievements and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen Betty; sons, John C., Jr. and Gary R., both of Centerville, Va.; and Donald T., Manassas, Va.; daughters, Sharon L. McGlone, Fairfax, Va.; and Sandra A. Richardson, Centerville; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Joseph P., Shavertown; and Francis G.
Funeral services will be at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Myer Chapel, Fort Myer, Va. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Graham Road United Methodist Church, 2929 Graham Road, Falls Church, Va. Interment with military honors will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Pearl Del Gobbo, 90, of Warner Street, Plains Township, died Wednesday at Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.Born April 5, 1910, in Perugia, Italy, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Gammaitoni. She attended local schools and was associated with her late husband, Luigi Del Gobbo, in the operation of Pennsylvania Poultry Market, Wilkes-Barre.

Charles K. Beech, 82, of Seagate Colony, Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of the Shavertown section of Kingston Township, died June 14 at the Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Charles Kingeter and Helen (Loftus) Beech. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Wyoming Seminary and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He was a district sales representative for Wilson Sporting Goods, U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with Gen. George Patton's 3rd Armored Division during the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Janet Ichter; son, Charles K., II, Virginia Beach; two grandsons, three great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Charles Scott, Muncy; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with the Rev. Douglas Clark officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from noon until service time Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the Shavertown United Methodist Church.

John "Jack" Daniels, formerly of Henryville and New York City, died Thursday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home, Plains Township.
Born Feb. 4, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif., he was the son of the late Vernon and Mildred (Bonner) Daniels. He was a graduate of the City Universitycq of New York. He worked for Otis Elevator Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his sons, Peter, Pelham~ N.H.; and David, Henryville; daughter, Elisabethcq Penamon-Laszlo Piscataway, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. There are no calling hours.

Marguerite (James) Torrence, 96, formerly of Dan Flood Towers, Kingston, and Philadelphia, volunteered her services during World War II to Curtis Publishing Co. in the office of the Saturday Evening Post and with the Barnum and Bailey Circus, Philadelphia. She attended Dr. Edwards Memorial Congregational Church and the Immanuel Baptist Church, both in Edwardsville. Surviving are her nieces and nephews.

Anna Urbanovich, of First Avenue, Kingston, worked at the General Cigar Factory, Kingston, and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Surviving are her son, Anthony Charnetski, Nanticoke; daughter, Mary Ann Barilla, Swoyersville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Adam Kamus, Cocoa, Fla.; sisters, Geneveive Deren, Perkasie; Mary Ann passed away at Mercy Hospital on Aug. 25, 2000, after fighting a battle to recover from a heart attack she suffered on Aug. 5, 2000.
She was born on March 5, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Tombor) Polak. She was orphaned at an early age and after being passed from foster home to foster home, she was finally taken in and cared for by the late Stanley and Frances Stigora.
She marriage Anthony Bobin on July 4, 1931, who preceded her in death in 1961. She worked for various dress and shoe factories until she retired in 1961.
Mrs. Bobin was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph, in 1933; her son, John, in 1998; her grandson, Gary, in 1976; her natural brothers, Peter, Michael, George, Jack; and ("adopted") sisters, Marcella and Frances.
Surviving are her son, Tony, with whom she resided; the daughter she never had, Theresa; beloved bodyguard and companion, "Max the Malamute;" Smokey the persistent Cat;" grandson, John; great-grandson, Connor; "adopted" brother, Leonard; and sister, Stacia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Aug. 28, 2000, from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, Inc., at 8:30 a.m. with Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church and interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Viewing and services were private with only immediate family and close friends.

Daniel Albert Banyar, 75, of Brunswick, Ga., formerly of Swoyersville, died Aug. 7 at the Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center, Brunswick.
He was the son of the late John and Julia (Swetts) Banyar. He attended Swoyersville schools and was a 1940 graduate of Swoyersville High School. He worked at Georgia Pacific, formerly Brunswick Pulp and Paper Co. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John.
Surviving are his wife, Ann L., Brunswick; daughters, Linda B. O'Hara and Diane B. Pardoe, both of Atlanta; two grandchildren; sisters, Mary Filler, Julia Kocik and Betty Chacko, all of Swoyersville; Ann Sakulak, Barrington, N.J.; and Helen Kikla, Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at St. Francis Xavier Church, Brunswick, with the Rev. Cletus Pifher officiating. Burial will full military honors was at Palmetto Cemetery, Georgia. Funeral arrangements were by the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick.

Adeline A. "Nana" Carr, who resided with her granddaughter, Attorney Sharon Evans, at North Broad Street, West Hazleton, died Wednesday at her residence.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Mary Ellen (Derguzzi) Corra. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton, and the parish Altar and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C.; brothers, William, Jack and Alvin Corra; and sisters, Mary Marcani, Minnie Ecker, Elsie Correale, Laura Rossi, Ellen Corra, Emma Egan, Esther Chaney, Rose Weneroth and Elizabeth Shaffer.
Surviving are her daughters, Rosemarie Evans, West Hazleton; and Elsie Harvilla, Forty Fort; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Edna Luchi, Sugarloaf.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Fierro Funeral Service, Inc., 26 W. Second St., Hazleton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums section of Butler Township. John J. Claherty Sr., 82, of Gilligan Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 18, 1917, in Hanover Township, he was a son of the late John and Ethel (Greaves) Claherty. He attended Hanover schools. He worked in the local mining industry and the local garment industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Patrick's Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and the International Garment Workers Union.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and William; and sister, Dorothy.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Patricia Oschal, Trucksville section of Kingston Township; and Colleen Hannagan, Wilkes-Barre; sons, John, Jr. and Daniel, both of Hanover Township; nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church.
