Born in Westminster, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Shedlock) Dulsky. She worked for Merchants Shirt Co., Patterson. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, Sr.; and sisters, Anna Giza and Sophie Dougherty.

Surviving are her son, Joseph, Jr., Belleville, N.J.; brothers, John Dulsky, Plains Township; and Joseph Dulsky, Totowa, N.J.; sisters, Helen Wolczyk, Wilkes-Barre; Josephine Ward, Tacoma, Wash.; Jean Walkowiak and Florence Snee, both of Plains Township; Margaret McCarol, Carteret, N.J.; and Shirley Yankowski, Laflin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Plains Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Injaychock, Raymond

Raymond F. Injaychock, 84, of Matson Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born June 16, 1916, in Parsons Borough, he was a son of the late Joseph and Magdeline (Tereshinski) Injaychock. He was a 1938 graduate of Coughlin High School. He was a Wilkes-Barre City police officer and worked for the Luzerne County Voters Registration Office. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the 3rd Division, fought in the Battle of Bougenville and at Gaudalcanal in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Sacred Heart-St. John's Parish Community, Wilkes-Barre, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6227, American Legion Post 199, and The Marine Corps League, all of Parsons, The Disabled American Veterans Commanders Club and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 36, Hanover Township. He was awarded the Distinguished Citizens Award by the Parsons Community League.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes Shimko; son, Raymond; brothers, Anthony, Chester and Joseph; and sisters, Theresa Latinski and Celia.

Surviving are his sisters, Regina Galvin, Lehighton; Dorothy Coley, Parsons; Sister Rita Marie, Bernardine Sisters, St. Joseph's Medical Center, Hazleton; brother, Edward, Ashville, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart-St. John's Church, North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Lavelle, Paula

Paula (Eike) Lavelle, 53, of Coppell, Texas, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Aug. 1 in Texas from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was a daughter of Paul and Anna Eike, Wilkes-Barre. She was a graduate of Meyers High School and Wilkes College. She taught at St. Boniface School, Wilkes-Barre, and worked for Lockheed Martin, Grand Prairie, Texas. She was a member of St. Boniface Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Edward; sons, Ned, stationed with the U.S. military in Kuwait; and John, Lewisville, Texas; sisters, Annette Hinman deGaxiola, Alamos, Sonora, Mexico; Marie Hogan, Wilkes-Barre; and Claudia Hoffman, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.

Funeral and interment were held in Texas. A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Church, 225 Blackman St., Wilkes-Barre. Monsignor Bernard Yarrish will officiate. Penugonda, Veeraju

Veeraju Penugonda, 84, of Rajahamundry, India, died Wednesday in India.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Veeranna Penugonda.

Surviving are two sisters, both of India; children, Y. Penugonda, V. Penugonda, R. Penugonda and K. Vanapalli, all of India; V. Penugonda, Bensalem; Dr. H. Penugonda, Wilkes-Barre; and Dr. B. Penugonda, Grand Forks, N.D.; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers and gifts donations may be made to the local soup kitchen in her honor.

Nelson J. Pearson Jr., 51, of Nanticoke, died Wednesday at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Nelson J. and Ann (Wengryn) Pearson. He was a graduate of Meyers High School. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an E5 sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with three clusters, Vietnamese Service Medal with device, Combat Action Ribbon, Purple Heart Medal, Marksmanship Badge Pistol Medal and Marksmanship Rifle Medal. He was a member of Nebo Baptist Church, Nanticoke, American Legion Post 274, Gouldsboro, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 509, Tobyhanna, and Marines Corps, Wilkes-Barre, and life member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 5, Nanticoke.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; and aunt, who reared him, Evelyn Hagenbaugh.

Surviving are his wife, the former Denise Kovaleski; son, Nelson; daughters, Kelly, Iva and Keriann, one grandson; sister, Diane Luizzo, Gouldsboro; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Leo P. Lehman Funeral Home, 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Timothy Hall and Rev. Michael Shambora Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Nunzio J. Salerno, 71, of Exeter Avenue, West Pittston, died Tuesday at Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born Jan. 8, 1929, in West Pittston, he was a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Long) Salerno. He worked at Procter & Gamble. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Exeter, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4909, Dupont, and American Legion Post 510, Black Walnut, and life member of Goodwill Hose Co., West Pittston.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony, Patrick, Roger and Rocco; and sisters, Lucy Salerno and Lena Tonkin.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Vicentina "Tina" Ciotola; sons, Roger, at home; and Angelo, Sr., West Pittston; daughters, Mary Rose Wall, Duryea; and Nancy Anne Nichols, Trucksville section of Kingston Township; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and brother, Carmen, Pittston.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Raymond A. Smith Sr., of Wright Township, Mountaintop, died Wednesday at his home.

Born July 25, 1924, in Wright Township, he was a son of the late Percy E. and Mary E. (Kellmer) Smith. He was an excavating contractor, and owned and operated P.E. Smith, Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Mountaintop.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Ruth R. Swank; daughters, Ruth Evans, Wilkes-Barre; Cheryl Page and Amy Scholl, both of Mountaintop; sons, Raymond A., Jr., Hazleton; Charles R., Ashley; David W. and Mark A., both of Mountaintop; and Jeffrey S., New Jersey; nine grandchildren; sister, Alberta S. Sachs, Allentown; and brother, Leonard D., Mountaintop.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountaintop. The Rev. Donald Hartshorne will officiate. Angeline Marie Yanushko, of Johnson Street, Pittston, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Lucia (Gambaro) De Santo. She attended the Pittston High School, Class of 1944. She worked in the garment industry. She was a member of St. Rocco's Church, Pittston; and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Nick, Joe and John De Santo; and sisters, Jenny Bonfiglio, Geraldine Mincozzi and Lucy McDonald.

Surviving are her son, Michael, at home; sisters, Antoinette Renda, Pittston; and Mary Sperazza, Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston Township, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rocco's Church, Pittston. Burial will be in the parish Cemetery, Pittston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. There will be a Christian wake service Friday afternoon. Fannie Zlakowski, of High Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born June 27, 1916, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Mitrey and Sukor Solomon. She attended Wilkes-Barre City High School. She was a presser in the garment industry. She was a member of St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre and its Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Naphie Mamary, Jennie Obeid and Sadie Abraham; and brothers, Michael and Samuel.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Zigmund W.; son, Charles W., Euclid, Ohio; brother, Norman Solomon, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church. She attended Warrior Run schools. She owned and managed Daylida's Bar & Grill, Warrior Run~~. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch, and the Warrior Run American Legion Auxiliary Post 176.

Archmandrite Innocent (Theodore Dimitry Fryntzko), 81, of Staten Island, N.Y., formerly of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Orthodox Monastery, South Canaan; died Saturday at St. Vincent's Hospital, Staten Island.Born Sept 11, 1918, in Granite City, Ill., he was a son of the late the late Dimitry and Pelagia (Kohut) Fryntzko. He attended public schools in Granite City and was a graduate of Columbia University and St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, both of New York. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a yeoman first class. He was a counselor at the Illinois Youth Commission at St. Charles Training School for Boys, ordained to the Holy Priesthood at his home parish, the Nativity of The Virgin Mary Eastern Orthodox Church, Madison, Ill., was a parish priest in Sioux City, Iowa, and was a missionary in Alaska, moving from village to village. He professed monasticism and was tonsured a monk at the Monastery of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk.

(Stefanelli) Guarnieri, 64, of Winter Street, Pittston Township, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.Born May 22, 1936, in Pittston Township, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Catherine (De Pasquale) Stefanelli. She was a graduate of Township High School and Lackawanna Business School. She was a division manager for Sears and for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Transportation Department. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Pittston, and the Big Band Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

He was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont; American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke, and the Amvets Post 59, Hanover Township and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5267, Hanover Township.

Orceil (Brown) Davis, 92, of Meadows Manor, Lake Street, Dallas, died Thursday morning at Mercy Center in Dallas.

Born July 22, 1908, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Percy A. and Leah (Brink) Brown. Mrs. Davis attended St. Ann's Academy, of Wilkes-Barre, and also the Wilkes-Barre and Kingston public schools. She attended Wyoming Seminary and the National Park College in Silver Spring, Md. She was active in numerous charitable and civic organizations, including the American Red Cross, of Wyoming Valley, where during World War II she was chairman and instructor for surgical dressings. She served on the board of directors of the Westside Visiting Nurses Association; the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary; and was co-chairperson of the hospitality shop for Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mrs. Davis served as secretary of the board of directors of Percy A. Brown & Company, formerly in Wilkes-Barre, and was president of Percy A. Brown & Company following the death of her father, Percy A. Brown.

She was a life long resident of Wyoming Valley, residing in Kingston and Dallas, and was a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Clyde Davis III and her daughter-in-law, Helen Miller Davis, of Dallas; five grandchildren, Clyde Scott Davis, Lakewood, Ohio; Alison Davis Sims, Cumming, Ga.; Marcia Davis Landers, Dallas; Steven Dwight Davis, Savannah, Ga.; Tracy Davis Morgan, Dallas; and seven great-grandchildren, Vincent M. Landers, Rachel L. Landers, Wesley M. Landers, J. Allen Sims, Abigail L. Sims, R. Daniel Morgan and Bryan A. Morgan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Janet B. Clark, pastor of the Shavertown United Methodist Church, is officiating. Private interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Alphonso J. Dougard, 79, of Brick, N.J., formerly of Newark, N.J., died Aug. 22 at his home.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre. He was a construction official for the state Department of Community Affairs, Trenton, N.J. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a treasurer of the Essex County Civic Association, Newark. He was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick, N.J.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia (Kuchinskas) Dougard; and son, Alphonso.

Surviving are his sons, Ronald, Brick; and Lawrence, Maywood, N.J.; daughter, Deborah Urchin, Florida; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother, Peter, San Diego.

A Mass was held at St. Dominic's Church. Burial was in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.

Goode, Robert

Robert V. Goode, of Lemon Township, died Wednesday at home.

Born Dec. 24, 1916, in Denver, he was a son of the late Alex and Frances (Barnhart) Goode. He was a Millwright for Ecko Products, Massillon, Ohio. He attended Biblical Baptist Church, Meshoppen.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Ebey; brothers, Harold and Paul; and sisters, Lucille Alford, Jeanette Hammond and Hazel.

Surviving are his wife, Helene (Stonier) Goode; sons, Gary, Charles and Allen, all of Moundsville, W.Va.; daughters, Linda A. Stidd and Ruth Wingard, both of Meshoppen; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lavanna Greene, Charleston, W.Va.; and Angie LeFew, Pulaski, Va.; brother, Carl, Alkol, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Biblical Baptist Church, Brierwood Ridge, Meshoppen, with the Rev. Gary Myers officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

Elizabeth (Servose) James, 76, of North Goodwin Avenue, Kingston, died Tuesday at Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born June 13, 1924, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Verna (Herman) Servose. She was a graduate of Catawissa High School. She worked for the American Tobacco Co. and Manor Care Nursing Center, Kingston.

She was a member of the Greater Pittston YMCA, where she earned certificates for swimming approximately 2,300 miles.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Kirn; White Hall, Md.; two grandchildren; and brother, Albert Servose.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at the McLaughlin Funeral Service, 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Wyoming.

Bernadine A. Meyers, 67, of Kingston, died Wednesday at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born Jan. 18, 1933, in the Trucksville section of Kingston Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Stolarik. She was a graduate of Kingston High School. She was a secretary at the Acme Markets Warehouse, Forty Fort. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Plymouth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.

Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth, Kingston; Deborah Booth, Swoyersville; Joan Cordick and Anna, both of Kingston; son, Robert, Jr., White Haven; 13 Grandchildren, two great-grandsons; brother, Alexander Stolarik, Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerald E. Rettke, of Mehoopany, died Wednesday at his home.

Born May 15, 1937, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Elmer and Jean (Preston) Rettke. He was a 1955 graduate of Seneca Vocational High School. He worked for Elrae Industries, Lancaster, N.Y.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Donna M. (Burgess) Rettke; son, Dennis, Oakfield, N.Y.; daughters, Vicki Silver, Varysburg, N.Y.; Cristi Jeffrey, British Columbia; four grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Leising and Karen Caton, both of Lockport, N.Y.; and Janet Stringos, Hutchinson, Kan.;

Cremation will be held at Maple Hill Crematory, Hanover Township. There will be no calling hours or services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

Joseph "Jerry" Redding, 62, of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born Feb. 11, 1938, in Pittston, he was the son of Jean (Gibbons) Redding, Pittston, and the late Joseph "Cork" Redding. He was a graduate of Pittston Central Catholic High School. He was a international export manager at Berol Corp., Danbury, Conn., Venezuela and Colombia. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion and St. Conrad's Young Men's Social Club.

Surviving are his son, Gary, Wilkes-Barre; one grandson, one granddaughter; sisters, Shiela Flaherty, Moscow; Ann Connell, New Freedom; nieces, nephews and former wife, Barbara.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Donnelly-Callahan Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
