Mrs. Mary R. Lowe, 58, of Ridge Street, Newtown section of Hanover Township, loving wife, adored mother, and soon to be grandmother, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born June 20, 1941, a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Cannon) Leonard. Growing up in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1959, and a graduate of the Empire Beauty School in Wilkes-Barre. She has owned and operated her own beauty shop in Newtown for close to 30 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Ashley.
Mary leaves her husband and soul mate, Lawrence, with whom she celebrated her 35th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 24, 1999. She also leaves her daughter, Mrs. Gary (Linda) Antosh, of Mansfield, Conn.; sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Joan) Schneider, New Hampshire; Mrs. Neil (Eileen) Murphy, Hanover Township; Barbara Lukasavage, Dallas; Mrs. Mark (Patti) O'Malia, Wilkes-Barre; brother, William Leonard, Willow Brook, Ill.; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was beloved by all who came in contact with her. Her smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious. She will live in all of our hearts forever and be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. William A. Klimchak, 83, of Oak Street, Inkerman section of Jenkins Township, died Sunday at the East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.
Born Sept. 7, 1916, in Port Griffith, he was a son of the late John and Theresa (Gogola) Klimchak. He was a mechanic for Republic Aviation, Long Island, N.Y.; and a diesel mechanic for Pennsylvania Hide and Rendering Service, Dupont. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in France and Germany. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston, American Legion Post 0585, Duryea, and life member of the DAV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; and numerous brothers.
Surviving are his daughter, Janet Struzzeri, Inkerman; and son, William R., Duryea; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday.

Helen M. Earlley, 89, of Heidelberg Drive, Wernersville, formerly of the Newtown section of Hanover Township, died Monday at Reading Hospital, Reading.
Born Nov. 1, 1910, in East Rochester, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late George and Laura (Carr) Greening. She was a graduate of Wyalusing High School and manager of Stanley Home Products. She was a member of Ashley Presbyterian Church, where she was a deaconess and member of its Ladies Guild, Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William G.
Surviving are her son, William, Hatfield; daughters, Jean Mudrick Cavalieri, Scranton; and Barbara Conover, Sinking Springs; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Ann M. McDonnell, formerly of West Scranton, died Monday at the home of her sister, Mary Dreher, with whom she resided.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget (Gilroy) McDonnell. She was a graduate of the former St. Patrick's High School. She was a personnel clerk for the American Tobacco Co., working in their Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Mountaintop locations. She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton, and its Society of the Faithful.
Surviving, in addition to her sister, Mary, are her brother, Robert, Levittown; sister, Jane Lawrence, Chinchilla; and several nieces and nephews, and four great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Thomas and James; and sister, Helen.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Chad Williams, 20, of North Maple Avenue, Kingston, died Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Mark Williams, Plains Township, and Annette Margavage, Larksville. He worked for Lowes Home Improvement Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his stepfather, Joseph Margavage, Larksville; sister, Lisa Margavage, Larksville; paternal grandparents, Harry and Faye Williams, Kingston; and maternal grandparents, John Jabara, Wilkes-Barre; and Marion Rodgers, Kingston; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Helen B. Lopata, of Rocky Glen Road, Avoca, died Monday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Barbara (Hrebin) Dolinish. She was a 1942 graduate of Old Forge High School and worked for the former Imperial Co., Moosic, and the former Duchess Factory, Old Forge, in the dress making industry. She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Old Forge.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Frank; daughter, Patricia Maher, Scranton; one granddaughter; sister, Dorothy Brundage, Warminster; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Edward; and sister, Emily Andusko.

Catharine T. Yanik, 82, of Oak Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at the Community Hospice Center, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 7, 1912, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Emma (Hasenfus) Fry. She was a graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre and worked at Kresge's, Public Square, Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Fry Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John; daughter, Patricia Pryor Telfair, Wilkes-Barre; three grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Armitage, Detroit; Margaret Inman, Kingston; and Rosemary Kloer, Hanover Township; brother, Donald Fry, Binghamton, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She worked at local garment factories and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Slocum Township.

Anthony M. Collins, 38, of West Packer Street, Scranton, died Monday at his home.
Born Nov. 27, 1961, in Scranton, he was a son of the late Martin J. and Bernetta R. (Dunleavy) Collins. He attended Scranton Technical High School and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Mullinex from 1980 to 1983, when he was honorably discharged. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church and Local 489 Ironworkers Union.
Surviving are his brother, Patrick A., Pittston; one uncle, aunts, two nieces and cousins.

Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Florence M. (Kashuba) Barbini Erhardt. She owned Donna Barbini Bridals and was a free lance artist and decorator. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Dunmore, and was involved with the Dunmore Little League Auxiliary, St. Joseph's Center, American Heart Association, Gourmet Gala for the Ronald McDonald House, the Everhart Museum, National Night Out, St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, the International Friendship Program for Foreign Students at the University of Scranton, and the St. Andrea Society.
Surviving are her husband, Brian; sons, Brian J. Colby and Cameron S.; sister, Barbara Ruffalo, Guadalajara, Mexico; stepfather, Leonard T. Erhardt, Honesdale; stepbrother, Steve Erhardt, Los Angeles; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Born in Moosic, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Callahan) Gidula. She was a 1952 graduate of the former Moosic High School and was a garment worker. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Dupont, and its Holy Rosary Society.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Henry L.; son, Paul R., Factoryville; and daughters, Debra Ann, Lehigh County; and Patricia A., Butley, N.J.; six grandchildren; brothers, Michael Danella, Fort Lee, N.J.; John Potusky, Fort Lee, N.J.; George Gidula, Palm Desert, Calif.; and Nicholas Gidula, Swoyersville; sister, Mary Dziak, West Pittston; and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Moosic, she was the daughter of the late Nancy Ann (Gidula) Maleski, who was killed with her, and Henry L. Maleski, of Moosic. She was a 1972 graduate of Riverside High School, Taylor, and received her bachelor of science degree from Marywood College, Scranton and in elementary education, specializing in early childhood. She was an administrator, director and kindergarten teacher for the Wee Care Day Care, Dickson City and was a substitute teacher for the Old Forge School District. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Dupont.
Surviving, in addition to her father, are her sons, Christian J., Moosic; James "Curtis,'' Old Forge; brother, Paul R. Maleski, Factoryville; sisters, Debra Ann Maleski, Lehigh County; and Patricia A. Maleski, Nutley, N.J.; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Robert J. Supatosky, 62, of Clearview Street, Scranton, died Sunday in a plane crash in Bear Creek Township, with his wife of 40 years, the former Lillian Lasher.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Michael and Josephine (Minich) Supatosky. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Johnson Technical Institute. He worked for Overnite Trucking Co. and served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a member of the Scranton Liederkranz, the Polish Progressive Club and the Lithuanian Taurus Club.
Surviving are his daughter, Robin Phyllis; Scranton; sisters, Connie Mascaro and Helen Voshefsky, both of Scranton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Michael and Edward.

Born March 24, 1925, in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Violet (Batch) Hope.
She was a graduate of Plains High School.
She was a member of the First Welsh Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and sons, Thomas, David and John.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald and Robert, both of Wilkes-Barre; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Karl E. Blight Funeral Home, 392 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. George B. Johnson officiating.

Amanda L. Bednarsky, 16, of Harveys Lake, died Wednesday because of injuries suffered in a single car crash in Lehman Township.
Born April 27, 1984, in Kingston, she was the daughter of Kevin J. Bednarsky, Shavertown, Kingston Township, and Catherine (Yurko) Monahan, with whom she resided. She was a sophomore at Lake Lehman High School, where she was a member of the chorus and was a member of the Back Mountain Harvest Assembly Church youth group.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her paternal grandparents, Russell and Patricia Pigioni, Florence, S.C.; maternal grandparents, George and Ethel Yurko, Pikes Creek; paternal great-grandmother, Marie Pigioni, Palm Bay, Fla.; and step-father, Maurice Monahan, with whom she resided.

Born Feb. 23, 1916, in Le Raysville, she was a daughter of the late Burt and Elizabeth (Frisbie) Woodruff. She and her husband owned and operated the Shady Nook Restaurant, New Albany. She was a member of the Franklindale Christian Church and the Colonial Towers Senior Citizens Band, Towanda.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Robert D. "Bob,'' daughter, Clara M. Gowin, New Albany; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie VanDeMark, Laceyville; brothers, Ralph Woodruff, Laceyville; and Gerald Woodruff, Wyalusing; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Roberta Elizabeth Shrimp; and sisters, Vera Salsman, Kathryn White, Gertrude Salsman and Bernita Snyder.

Born in Pittston, he was a son of Mary (Ray) Callahan, North Ridgeville, Ohio, and the late Francis Callahan.
He was educated in Moosic schools.
He was plant manager at the former Petersburgh Silk Mill, Scranton, and a manager at Weave Corp. in Denver, Pa.
He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Avoca.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Major.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 45 years, the former Margaret "Peg'' Lavin; daughter, Deborah Callahan, at home; sons, Francis III, Lititz; and Patrick, Avoca; sisters, Betty Dolinsky, Lady Lake, Fla.; and Patricia Coolbaugh, North Ridgeville, Ohio; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
