Joan Ann Marie Delaney, 64, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at her home.
Born Oct. 19, 1935, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Marrone) Tomario. She was a 1953 graduate of Meyers High School and a teachers aide for Luzerne County Intermediate Unit. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward.
Surviving are her daughters, Rosemary Sheperis and Joanne Vaimaona, both of Wilkes-Barre; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the James M. Desiderio Funeral Home, 2 Academy Road, Marion Terrace, Hanover Township, with funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. from St. Aloysius Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Alexandria A. "Ollie'' Dovidas, 85, of West Elm Street, North End section of Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Jan and Pauline (Hritz) Fedor. She attended Wilkes-Barre schools and was a waitress for the Hotel Sterling and Dente's Catering. She was a member of Sacred Heart/St. John's Parish Community, North Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and brothers, Joseph and Stanley Fedor.
Surviving are her son, Barry J., Mountaintop; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Violet Wasilewski and Helen Lukac, both of Wilkes-Barre; and Vicky Murphy, Blythburn, Rice Township.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 415 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Yolanda (Schoen) Engel, 80, of Isabel Court, Edwardsville, died Friday afternoon at the home of her son, Dr. Robert Engel, 635 Charles Ave., Kingston.
Born in Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late William and Rachel Schoen. She was a member of Temple Israel, a life member of Hadassah, and a 50-year member of Congregation B'nai Zion, El Paso, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Zoltan, Jan. 20, 2000.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Robert Engel; daughter-in-law, Tammy; grandchildren, Daniel, Caroline and Benjamin, all of Kingston.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre. Rabbi Larry Kaplan and Cantor Ahron Abraham will officiate. Interment will be at Temple Israel, Swoyersville. Shiva will be observed at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Engel, 635 Charles Ave., Kingston, Monday through Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to the United Hebrew Institute; Temple Israel; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Joan Fumanti, of Mountaintop, died Sunday from injuries suffered in an airline crash.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Barush) Kumiega. She attended Wilkes-Barre schools and was a 1953 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School. She was a technician at Harris Semiconductor and worked at ARA Services at the First Union Arena, Wilkes-Barre Township. She was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountaintop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; and brother, Joseph.
Surviving are her son, David, Montgomery; sister, Rose (Kumiega) Badman, Lansdale; one niece, four nephews, two great-nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Desiderio Funeral Home, Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Route 309, Mountaintop, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of Joseph S. and Helen M. (Hilla) Jacolik. She was a 1964 graduate of Central Catholic and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
Surviving are her sisters, Josephine Herman, Herndon, Va.; Jo Ann Hardisky, Orange, Franklin Township; brother, Joseph T., Exeter; nieces and nephews.
The funeral services were held Thursday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann's Church, Luzerne. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.

Eileen M. Jones, 69, of Newitt Place, Kingston, died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born April 29, 1931, in Monrovia, Calif., she was a daughter of the late Lawrence R. and Elizabeth A. (Dermody) Timmins. She was a 1949 graduate of Kingston High School and was an account manager at R.A. Saul Insurance Agency. She was a president of Insurance Women of Wyoming Valley, regional vice president of the National Association of Insurance Women, and received the Wyoming Valley Insurance Woman of the year award. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, and a volunteer tutor in reading for Wyoming Valley West School District.
Surviving are her daughter, Elaine, Los Angeles; sons, Philip, Telford; William, Jenkintown; Robert, Columbia, Md.; and Glenn, Wilkes-Barre; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Maher-Collins Funeral Home, 360 N. Maple Ave., Kingston, with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church. He owned and operated Frank J. Bucholtz Tire Co., Kingston, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Mary's Annunciation Church, Kingston.

Leo John Belotti, of Kennedy Street, Old Forge, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.Born in Old Forge, he was a son of the late Gregorio and Josephine (Basille) Belotti. He worked at General Motors, Buffalo, N.Y., during World War II, for Barclay Forklift and James Belotti Forklift, both of New Jersey, was a shipping clerk at the Duchess Garment Factory, Old Forge, floorman for Keystone Apparel, West Side, and an assistant at the Department of Transportation and Scranton State General Hospital lunch counter, where he worked with his wife, Dorothy. He was an honorary social member of the Shopland Memorial Club, Scranton, member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge, volunteer at the Scranton Handicapped Club. He was one of the few survivors of the Knox Mine Disaster. He was a miner from Knox No. 9, Hughestown, Corey Slope, and other local mines.

He attended Wilkes-Barre City schools and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a manager for Westinghouse Elevator Division, Randolf, N.J., and worked at St. Mark Village, Palm Harbor, Fla.

She owned Hayes Bar, Plymouth, was an instructor for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and a secretary for General Motors Co.

Born in New Kensington, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Tekla (Kowaleski) Komarnicki.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester.
Surviving are her sons, David, Dallas; Robert A., Courtdale; Larry, Harveys Lake; and Gary, Edwardsville; daughters, Barbara Adrian, Dallas; and Lori Bolton, Trucksville; sisters, Pauline Sauerwine, Wilkes-Barre; Kathryn Blandford, Murrells Inlet, S.C.; and Anna Politano, Kearny, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville, with the Rev. Louis Grippe officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Research Foundation.

Edward S. Maddy, formerly of Nanticoke, died Friday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Andrew and Ann (Gorski) Maddy. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Sassaman; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his daughters, Andrea Sadowski, Mountaintop; and Judith Vida, Edwardsville; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Nanticoke. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wanamie, Newport Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Kunkle, 63, of South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday in a fatal airplane crash at Bear Creek Township.Born May 19, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Davies) Roberts and the late Alfred Roberts. She was a 1954 graduate of GAR Memorial High School. She worked at Daley's Transportation Co., was a nurses aide at the Davis Nursing Home and was a sales representative for the General Mills Corp. She was a member of the First Welsh Presbyterian Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she was active in it's functions, was a deaconess and taught Sunday and Bible school, was president of the Missionary Society, member of the choir, Cookie/Baker Club and Friendship class and the Junior Cambrian.

He was self-employed as a shoemaker, was a U.S. postal clerk in Wilkes-Barre and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Myers. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Wilkes-Barre; American Legion Post 558, Plains Township, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kingston, and Amvets Post 59, Buttonwood, Hanover Township.

He was a member of Mehoopany Baptist Church, Mehoopany, where he was a deacon and supervised the junior church program.

Farrell Sr., 64, of O'Neill Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Emma (Benish) Farrell, Wilkes-Barre, and the late Edward Farrell. He attended Wilkes-Barre schools, worked at Prestige Shoe Co. and was a chef at Patte's Sports Bar, both of Wilkes-Barre. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Naval Reserve, Kingston, and with the U.S. Army, as a sergeant with Battery C, 519th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, Camp Hanford, Washington. He was a member of the parish community of Sacred Heart/St. John the Evangelist, Wilkes-Barre, was a Cub Scout master of Cub Pack 90, St. John's Church, coach and manager with the Heights Teener League and North End Little League.
