Frances S. Romanski~, of Roosevelt Street, Edwardsville, formerly of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at the Heritage House Hospice Care Unit of the VNA, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Parsons, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Kisankoski~. She attended the Wilkes-Barre area schools. She owned and operated Fran's Diner, Plains Township and worked for Children and Youth Services. She was a member of St. Christopher's Church, Bear Creek, Polka Jets and The Jolly Girls Card Club.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Dupak; second husband, Peter Romanoski; sons, William Dupak and Robert Kisankoski; and sister; Catherine Peworchik.
Surviving are her sons, Frank Dupak, Maryland; Jerome Romanoski, Edwardsville; Peter and Ronald Romanoski~, both of Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Mary Ann (Dupak) Roccograndi, Larksville; 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joann Pewarchik, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Ann Rembish, Florence Swantek, Lottie Pivinski and Emily Strinkoski~, all of Wilkes-Barre.
The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Michael J. Mikelski Funeral Home, 293 S. River St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the VNA.
Schultz, Richard Michael

Richard Michael Schultz Sr., 79, of Hagerstown, Md., died Nov. 25 at the Washington County Hospital, Maryland.
Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Larksville, he was the son of the late Michael Julius and Mary (McGowan) Schultz. He was a graduate of Larksville High School, East Stroudsburg College and West Maryland College. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and served in the European Theatre during World War II. He taught with the Washington County Board of Education. He coached basketball, soccer and gymnastics at Williamsport High School and soccer, golf and gymnastics at South Hagerstown High School. He was the athletic director from Hagerstown High School. He was the president of several Washington County teachers associations, chairman of the Washington County Parks Board, inducted into the Washington County Hall of Fame and was co-founder of the Tri-State League.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Fogelsanger; sons, Richard Michael Jr. and Randall Isaac, both of Hagerstown; six grandchildren and three great-granchildren; and sisters, Delores June, Larksville; Rosemarie Sobel, Naperville, Ill..
A funeral Mass was held at St. Anne's Church, Hagerstown. Interment will be in Green Castle. Arrangements were by the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Mary Turowski, 89, of Bennett Street, Old Forge, died Friday at her home.
Born in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Draus) Shuta. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; daughter, Josephine Zawrotny; brothers, John, Frank, Joseph, Thomas and Charles.
Surviving are her sons, Stanley J., Old Forge; Walter S., Nanticoke; and Joseph W., Old Forge; four grandchildren; sister, Sophie Hust, Binghamton, N.Y.; brothers, Michael, Conklin, N.Y.; and Raymond, Montrose; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Palermo and Zawacki Funeral Home Inc., 409 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. The Rev. Dorothy "Edna" Wirhanowsky, 70, of Ridgefield, Conn., formerly of Duryea, died Thursday at the Laurelwood Nursing Home, Ridgefield.
Born in D~uryea, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Resevit) Madrak. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. She worked for Boehringer Ingelh~eim, Ridgefield. She was a ~member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield, and Holy Rosary Church, Duryea.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; brothers, Stanley and Joseph Madrak; sisters, Helen Robak, Mary Bodzon, Anna Poska, Stella Madrak and Edna Pliska; and four infants.
Surviving are her sisters, Alice Martinich, Ridgefield; and Cecelia Hardwick, Naugatuck, Conn.; niec~es and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with a Mass of the Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church. The Rev. Charles Rokosz will officiate.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Vigil Services will be conducted Sunday evening.

Mariam Zagropski, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at her home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Genevieve (Barilla) Bubrick. She was a homemaker all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret McGroarty; and brothers, George Bubrick and Leo Branden.
Surviving are her sons, Joseph, Inkerman section of Jenkins Township; Fred, Wilkes-Barre; and Donald, Exeter; daughters, Joan Thomas, Wilkes-Barre; Patricia Rutkowski, Milford, Mass.; Judith Toole, Pittston; Penelope Cooper, El Paso, Texas; and Suzette Meade, Wilkes-Barre; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucy Bubrick and Joan Kresge, both of Buffalo, N.Y.

Bertha F. Drust, 71, of Archbald, died Thursday at Mid Valley Hospital, Blakely.
Born Dec. 20, 1928, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Bertha (Esser) Wojcik. She was a housewife.
She was a member of the Jermyn Golden Avenue Club and the ladies Tuesday morning Senior Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Drust.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda O'Connor, Exton; and two granddaughters.

Charles "Chuck" F. Dobash, 55, of Sweet Valley, died Friday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 21, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Susan Bamrick Dobash, of Georgetown, and the late John Dobash.
He served in the U.S. Army for 23 years during the Vietnam Era, retiring in 1985. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, seven Good Conduct Medals, Vietnam Service Medal with nine service stars, eight Overseas Service Bars, Bronze Star Medal, U.S.A. Recruiter Badge, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Meritorious Service Medal and two Purple Hearts.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was an associate member of the Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Betty Raitter; son, Dr. Gregory Dobash, Philadelphia; step sons, Edmund and Jason Pish, both of Edwardsville; step daughters, Angel Bestwick, Dallas; Laura Pish, Trucksville; brother, John Dobash, Mountaintop; sisters, Elaine Kotulski, Clinton, Conn.; Catherine Walker, Albany, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Elva M. (Wilkinson) Franklin, 88, formerly of West Main Street, Bloomsburg, died Friday at the Bonham Nursing Center, Register, where she was a resident since April. She was formerly a guest at Outlook Pointe, Bloomsburg.
Born Sept. 26, 1912, in Bloomingdale, Ross Township, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Alvin and Martha Eliza (Edwards) Wilkinson. She was a 1931 graduate of the former Huntington Township High School.
She was employed at the former Woolworth's Department Store, Bloomsburg, and later at the former Rea & Derrick Drug Store, Bloomsburg, where she worked for 20 years, retiring in 1977.
She was a resident of West Main Street, Bloomsburg, since 1950 and was a member of the First English Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. Franklin; sister, Bethia Brown; brother, Corey Wilkinson; and half sister, Anna Stroud.
Surviving are her sons, A. Paul Franklin, Hunlock Creek; A. Dale Franklin, Bloomsburg; sister, Rae Schrack, Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the First English Baptist Church, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Lee Barnhardt, her pastor, officiating. Private interment will be in Scott Cemetery, Huntington Township. Edith "Joan" Giberson, wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, nanna and friend, loved by all, age 76, of RR 2, Follies Road, Dallas, died Friday at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 18, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Rena Mae Jones. She resided in Dallas for four years and prior to this, she resided in Wilkes-Barre.
She was a graduate of Meyers High School and Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical School. Mrs. Giberson was a member of the Calvary Bible Church on Samborne Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was employed as a L.P.N. at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. Prior to this she was employed at the Wyoming Valley Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin H., on March 12, 1997; grandson, Dennis A. Osman; and sister, Lanna Mae Atkinson.
Surviving are children, Bonnie Osman, Dallas; Barbara Borovich and Sandra Leggieri, both of Wilkes-Barre; Franklin II, Lattimer Mines; Linda Bond, Plymouth Township; Debra Johnson, Wilkes-Barre Township; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Mary M. Grigas, R.N., 66, of Elm Street, Plymouth, died Saturday at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 6, 1934, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Michalene Klimkevich Grigas. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School, class of 1951, and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood section of Hanover Township. Before retiring, she was employed at the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, in the central supply (sterilizing) room as a registered nurse for many years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph; and sister, Anna.
Surviving are cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church. James S. Hollister, of RR 2, Meshoppen, died Friday at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre.
Born Oct. 27, 1962, in Meshoppen, he was the son of Berton and Rose Oakes Hollister, of Meshoppen. He worked on the family farm and stone quarry in Meshoppen.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a son, James, South Carolina; daughters, Ashley, South Carolina; Amanda, Meshoppen; brother, Berton Jr., Meshoppen; sisters, Laurie Trible, Meshoppen; Bonnie Fisher, Mehoopany; and several nieces and nephews.

Julie Lokuta, of Dupont, died Friday.
Born Aug. 30, 1917, in Dupont, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Sevka Golya.
She was educated in the Dupont schools and was a graduate of Pittston High School and Empire Beauty School. She was formerly employed as a licensed beautician.
She participated in a variety of community activities throughout her life, serving as a Cub Scout den mother, volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives, American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Dupont Little League Association and the National Audubon Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter N. Lokuta.
Surviving are her children, Judge Ann H. Lokuta, Dupont; Damian Lokuta, Linwood, N.J.; Atty. Jan Lokuta, Milford; and one grandson.

Gerald J. McEneny, 74, of Middletown, N.J., died Wednesday at his home in New Jersey.
Born Oct. 4, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Michael G. McEneny and Amelia Schappert. He attended Mansfield University, graduating in 1949.
A former resident of Wilkes-Barre, he resided in Middletown since 1962. He was a teacher and coach in the Middletown School System before retiring after 25 years of service.
He was the director of Camp Hope and worked with Middletown Park and Recreation and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine McEneny.
Surviving are his daughters, Molly McEneny, New York City; Kathy House, Blossburg; brother, Michael, Ashley; sister, Liz Connors, Ashley; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday from the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, N.J. Interment will be private. Born March 18, 1950, in Pittston, he was the son of Stanley J. Morkavage, of Hughestown, and the late Bernadine Hopkins Morkavage. He was a 1968 graduate of Pittston Area High School.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Hughestown. He was employed at Pride Mobility Health Care, West Pittston.
