Helen T. Benjamin, 80, a resident of Hampton House, Sans Souci Parkway, Hanover Township, formerly of Buttonwood, Hanover Township, and Binghamton, N.Y., died Saturday at Hampton House.
Born Aug. 5, 1920, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Frances Rosell and Anthony Zatorski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; and stepfather, Frank Yanshak.
Surviving are her daughter, Norma Jean Seniska, Endicott, N.Y.; four grandchildren; sister, Dolores Yanshak, an Ursuline nun, New Rochelle, N.Y.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, 630 Main Road, Hanover Green section of Hanover Township. The Rev. James E. McGahagan will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ursuline Marian Residence, 1338 N. Joseph J. Cheslick, 62, of Scott Street, Swoyersville, died Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Vitcosky) Cheslick. He was a graduate of Exeter High School. He owned and operated Penn Dental Laboratories, Swoyersville. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Holy Name/St. Mary's Church, Swoyersville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Romayne Falzone; and brother, Benjamin.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elaine Rozinski; daughters, Lisa Cheslick, Wilkes-Barre; and Kristen Cheslick, Swoyersville; son, Joseph, Swoyersville; and sister, Dolores Uporsky, Neshanic Station, N.J.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name/St. Mary's Church, Swoyersville. Michael J. Charge, of Lone Street, Pittston Township, died Monday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was a son of the late Pasquale and Anna (Musto) Charge. He attended Pittston High School. He worked in the coal mines, owned and operated two gas stations and M.J. Charge Coal Co. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Pittston, and Italian Educational Circle Club, Corklane.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Figel) Charge; brothers, Patrick and Charles; and sisters, Doris Lucchino and Josephine Rizzo.
Surviving are his daughters, Sophie Kapica, Tarrytown, N.Y.; and Dorothy Lee Green, Shavertown section of Kingston Township; son, Patrick J., Hughestown; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sisters, Regina Jerrytone, Pittston; and Marie Guarnieri, Pittston; and brother, Sam Chairgecq, West Pittston.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Adonizio Funeral Home Inc., 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township. A viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Ethel A. Engler, 81, formerly of North Main Street, Fairview Township, Mountaintop, died Sunday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born March 3, 1919, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late George C. and Myrtle (Heller) Eigenbrod. She was a graduate of Hanover High School. She was a cafeteria worke~r at the American Tobacco Co. at the Crestwood Industrial Park. She was a member of the Mountaintop Presbyterian Church, president of the Presbyterian Women's Group and Parent Teachers Organization of Fairview School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; and grandson, Kevin Orlowskey.
Surviving are her daughters, Martha Jewell, Mountaintop; Sharon Hess, Berwick; Brenda Phillips, Laurel Run; and Myrtle Orlowskey, White Haven; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother, Hilbert Eigenbrod, Dorrance Township.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday ~from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountaintop, with services at the Mountaintop Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. The Rev. James H. Josephok P. Fanucci, 83, of Gateway Manor, Edwardsville, formerly of East Walnut Street, Kingston, died Sunday at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Sept. 8, 1917, in Glen Lyon, Pa., he was the son of the late Camillo and Rose (Lanuti) Fanucci. He was a graduate of Newport Township High School and Penn State University with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1943. He w~as initially employed by the Frank Piasecki Company, Philadelphia, conducting research for the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Fanucci performed the stress tests necessary in the development of the Navy's first cargo helicopter, the Chinook. He returned to Wyoming Valley where he became known as "Mr. Mack." and was president of Wilkes-Barre Mack Truck in Kingston until his retirement. He was a member of St. Ignatius-St. Ann's Parish Community, Kingston.
Sisters, Laura Nardozza and Helen Ulakovic, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Marie Biscontini; daughter, Teresa Wilkerson, Texas; grandson, Paris Greene, Texas; and granddaughter, Keishia Wilkerson, Texas.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the McLaughlin Funeral Service, 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Hoyt Street, Kingston. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Nelson) Olson. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and Dean School of Business, Wyoming Seminary, Kingston. She worked for the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Philadelphia, was a saleslady with Isaac Long Department Store, Wilkes-Barre, and teacher's aide with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District at the North Street School, Wilkes-Barre, Maffett Street and Lt. Duddy Schools, Plains Township, Daniel J. Flood School and Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre.~
She was a member of the former Trinity Swedish Lutheran Church, its Trinity Guild, Messiah Lutheran Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, all of Wilkes-Barre. She was also a member of the Lutheran Churchwomen, Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and served on several church committees. She was a~ volunteer with Penn's death by her husband, William C.; and sister, Jennie Olson.
Surviving are her sons, William C., Jr., Vero Beach; and J. Lawrence, Norristown; four grandchildren; brothers, Robert Olson, Vero Beach; and Kenneth Olson, West Orange, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

Born Oct. 20, 1928, in Staten Island, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Henry King, Sr. and Margaret C. (Walters) Waters. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School. She was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Lee Park section of Hanover Township.
She was preceded in death by~ her grandson; brothers, Henry K. Waters Jr. and Carroll K. Waters; and sister, Margaret C. Cusumano.
Surviving are her husband, Frederic~k K.; daughters, Karen Kopp, Adamstown; Donna Szymanski, Great Falls, Mont.; and Sandra Gerber, Hegins; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Shelden A. Waters, Ashley; and sister, Shirley D. Cragle, Ceasetown.

Helen (Gates) Melvin, 88, of William Street, Pittston, died Sunday at her home.Born Nov. 18, 1912, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Catherine (Kelly) Gates. She was a graduate of Pittston High School, where she was secretary of her class. She was a secretary to the superintendent at Pittston High School and Pittston Area High School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pittston.

Michael S. (Mikine) Mikina, 79, of West Main Street, Plymouth Township, formerly of Plymouth Borough, died Monday at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Feb. 4, 1921, in Plymouth Borough, he was a son of the late Michael and Sophie (Pencavage) Mikina. He attended Plymouth High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for Pagnotti Enterprises and a miner for the Glen Alden Coal Co, working in various collieries. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church, Plymouth, United Mine Workers of America and the Polish Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Mikina.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Geraldine Curham; daughters, Pat Emmett, Plymouth; Kay Szafranovicz, Plymouth Township; and Marge Teresavage, Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Dallas; Stanley, Plymouth; and Albert, Swoyersville; sisters, Sophie Stabulis, Wilkes-Barre; and Helen Lore, Plymouth; nieces and nephews.

Born in Secovska Polianka, Slovakia, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Koval) Lemes. She attended Kingston High School. She worked for Chancevaught Aircraft, Bridgeport, Conn. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville, and the Topps Club and was involved with various church groups and charity organizations.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Lemes.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary Challenger, Dillsburg; and Andrea Sokash, Kingston; three grandchildren; and sister Mary Hovanec, Morrisville.

George E. "Dick" Wine, 80, of Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Monday at his home.
Born June 15, 1920, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Wister and Mary (Armstrong) Wine. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, Washington, D.C. He worked for General Fireproofing Co., Washington, D.C. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He was affiliated with the Secret Service, served as a courier for President Roosevelt and became head of enrollment for the Marine Corps Institute (correspondence education for marines). He was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Ferguson.
Surviving are his wife, Mary C. (Butera) Wine; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private from the Graziano Funeral Home, 700 Pittston Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church. Paul P. Czyzewski, 77, of Dodson Cemetery Road, Shickshinny, died Tuesday.
Born March 1, 1923, in Mocanaqua, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marianne Czyzewski. He worked for several coal companies, including the Glen Lyon Coal Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Shickshinny American Legion Post and member and usher of St. Martha's Church, Fairmount Springs.
He was preceded in death by his stepsons, Richard and Harry Evans; one granddaughter; and brothers, Stanley and Joseph.
Surviving are his son, John C., Larksville; stepson, Ronald B. Evans, Huntington Mills; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and sister, Stella Hmelak, resident of Bonham Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Friday from the Mayo Funeral Home, 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martha's Church. The Rev. Thomas R. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona.
Surviving are his daughter, Barbara Emmel McGarry, Martinsville, N.J.; son, Joseph Richard, Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene, Scranton; nieces and nephews.

Born in the Glen Lyon section of Newport Township, she was a daughter of Fannie (Klugman) Gross, Lauderdale Lake, Fla., and the late Louis H. Gross. She was a graduate of Newport High School and attended Wayne University, Detroit. She was an administrative assistant for the United Hebrew Institute. She was a member of Ohav Zedek, its sisterhood and Ladies Auxiliary of Talmud Torah and worthy matron of Shickshinny Chapter of Eastern Star.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Herbert; daughter, Judy Horn, Boynton Beach, Fla.; son, Robert, Sagamore Hills, Ohio; five grandchildren; brother, Murray Gross, Cherry Hill, N.J.; sister, Sandra Himelstein, Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with Rabbi Meir Rosenberg officiating. Internment will be in Ohav Zedek Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the family home, 140 N. Dawes Ave., Kingston, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday.
