Sarah (Buck) Winningham, 84, of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at the VNA Hospice, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 19, 1917, in Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Rosilia (Kasczyki) Buck.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; son, Myron Pokrinchak; sister, Catherine Baddra; and brother, Frederick Buck.
Surviving are her son, Frederick Pokrinchak, Warren, Conn.; sister, Wanda Pavlow, Wilkes-Barre; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.

Ehret, Sally

Sally L. (Belles) Ehret, of South Regent Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at Mercy Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke.
Born October 3, 1936, in Glen Lyon, she was a daughter of the last Densmore and Lena Belles.
She was a 1955 graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre.
She worked in the housekeeping department at Clear Brook Inc., Laurel Run.
She was a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church, Plymouth.
Surviving are her husband, Harold J.; sons, Thomas, Chesapeake, Va.; and Harold L. Mountaintop; daughter, Melissa Ann Poremba, Valparaiso, Fla.; five granddaughters; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Anita Ambrose, her pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.

McLain Sr., Ralph

Ralph Joseph McLain Sr., 91, of Bear Creek Township, died Friday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
He was born June 17, 1909, and raised in Jersey City, N.J.
He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Africa and Italy.
He worked for the Hudson County Board of Elections and the Bank of New York.
He was a former American Legion commander.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mildred D. Adams; son, Ralph, Colorado City, Colo.; daughter, Patricia Flaherty, North Caldwell, N.J.; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Church, 213 E. Main St., Miners Mills, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Arrangements are by the McLaughlin Funeral Service, Wilkes-Barre.

Sally Jordan, of Elkton, Md., died Jan. 5 after an illness.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of Eileen McGlynn Lynn, Lewes, Del., and the late William Lynn.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph; daughters, Maureen Gibson, Susan Kelly and Karin Jordan, all of Wilmington, Del.; sisters, Mary Denise Masulis and Michele Lynn, both of Lewes, Del.; and brother, William, Newark, Del.
A Mass of Christian Burial and interment were held in Elkton, Md.
Local arrangements are by the Ruane & Regan Funeral Home, Pittston.

Josephine (Stapinski) Stefanko, 83, a guest at Outlook Pointe Personal Care Service, died Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Cebak) Stapinski.
She was an aide at the Ransom Convalescent Home.
She was preceded in death by her son, John; and brother, Michael.
Surviving are her brother, John Stapinski; sister, Julia Eckman, Holtwood; two grandchildren; and nieces.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.

Semcheski, Wasil

Wasil Semcheski, 80, of Ransom Street, Plymouth, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born April 9, 1920, in Plymouth Township, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Semchesyn) Semcheski.
He attended Plymouth Township Schools and Harter High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European and North African Theaters and receiving the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star.
He was caretaker of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth, and its parish Cemetery, and a laborer at the Glen Alden Coal Co.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he was involved with the church bazaar and other functions, the Carpenters Union, the VFW Shawnee Post 1425, and the American Legion Post 463.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ignatius; and sister, Olga.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Veronica Metsko; son, John M., Larksville; brothers, John, Kingston; Martin, Eddystone; Michael, Parkside; Walter, Jersey City, N.J.; Leo, Nanticoke; Joseph, Thomaston, Ga.; and Stanley, Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery, Plymouth Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Parastas services will be at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Wasyl Repela officiating.

Thomas J. Mikolajczyk, 44, of Slocum Township, died Friday at his home.
Born Aug. 21, 1956, in Nanticoke, he was a son of Loretta Levandowski and the late Edmund Mikolajczyk.
He was a 1974 graduate of Crestwood High School.
He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church, Dorrance, and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12174, Dorrance.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his sister, Andrea Engler, Nuangola; brother, Paul, Dorrance; and three nephews.
Private funeral services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., State Route 309, Mountaintop, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, with the Rev. Mark Balczeniuk officiating.
Interment will be in the parish Cemetery.

Born Jan. 24, 1930, in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Margarette (McLaughlin) Sharkey.
She attended St. Francis of Assisi School, Nanticoke.
She was a waitress at Woolworth's, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Mieczkowski, Elizabeth Postic, Geraldine Sharkey and Margaret Suchadolski; and brothers, Thomas "Pat" and James.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Godfrey; daughter, Denise, Nanticoke; son, Benjamin, at home; sisters, Anna Abruzzese, Bay Port, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, with the Rev. William Langan officiating.

Louis Yannuzzi, of Heisz Street, Edwardsville, died Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Troise) Yannuzzi.
He owned Yannuzzi & Sons Tailoring and Cleaning, Hillside, N.J.
He was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood, the Edwardsville Senior Citizens and the Big Band Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by two wives and a daughter, Barbara Fields.
Surviving are his sons, Richard, Arizona; and Robert, Orifield; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's Church.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Okinawa Theater of Operations.
He was a truck driver with Friedman Express.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Miners Mills Triangle Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Moser Coking; son, Michael, Wilkes-Barre; stepdaughter, Janet Handley, Florida; sister, Anna Klecha, Kingston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Mary A. Harostock Funeral Home, 480 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Joseph Kakalec, S.J., officiating.
