Grace Wilchinski, 77, of Hughestown, Greater Pittston, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Oct. 18, 1923, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lenore (Neve) Ferrara. She was a graduate of Pittston High School. She worked for Leslie Fay.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Romeo.
Surviving are her daughter, Diane Gable, with whom she resided; three granddaughters; brother, Patrick Ferrara, Carbondale; and sisters, Louise De Santis, Bernardsville, N.J.; Mary Polak and Carrie Donato, both of Pittston; and Nancy Montagna, Plains Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Graziano Funeral Home, 700 Pittston Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, Pittston. Interment will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Isabel "Rita" Trosky, 76, of Van Kirk Street, Philadelphia, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born Aug. 6, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alexanderiacq (Kapuscinski) Suchoski. She attended Coughlin High School. She was a housewife. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Northeast Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A.
Surviving are her sons, Stan J., Northeast Philadelphia; daughters, Carol Melniczek, Northeast Philadelphia; and Arlene Harris, Lewes, Del.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bartholomew Church, Harbison Avenue and Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening and 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the John F. Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home, 3301 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Wyndmoor. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Mass cards are preferred.

Myers, Edward

Edward R. Myers, 85, of Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre, a former resident of Hotel Sterling, died Wednesday at the center.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward Ralph and Gertrude (Bickel) Myers. He was a 1933 graduate of Pittston High School. He was a treasurer and manager of the Old Boston Coal Co. and operated the Grand Hotel, Exeter, and Palomar Cafe, Wyoming. He was a jazz musician and played with Louis Armstrong and Gene Krupa. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
He was exalted ruler of the Wilkes-Barre Elks Club, vice commander of Larksville American Legion Post 655, and was a member of the "Fighting Irish Club," Wilkes-Barre; Wyoming Eagles, Pittston Moose, Catholic War Veterans 752, Wyoming Valley Crime Clinic, Polish American Club, Dupont, Hose Co. No. 2, Wyoming, and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Democratic Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Margaret Williams.
Surviving are his son, Michael Bannon, Exeter; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Alice Babchak, of Cedar Road, Plains Township, formerly of Swoyersville, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Swoyersville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and (Petronella) O'Bara. She attended Swoyersville schools. She was a seamstress. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Plains Township, and charter member of the Pennsylvania Quilters Association of Luzerne County.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Andrejko and Anna Kosmark; and brother, Frank Klimovitz.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Louis; daughter, Louise Malloy, Minoa, N.Y.; sisters; Helen Dorrance, Center Moreland; Stella Stadl, Elwood Park, N.J.; and Sophie Bojarcheck, Cleona; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Mary Liberasky, 91, of Dupont, died Thursday at the Mountain Rest Nursing Home, Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Kwiatkowski) Loss. She was a member of the Holy Mother of Sorrows Polish National Catholic Church, Dupont, its the Ladies Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Society, Maria Konopinicka Society, Polish School Society and the Polish National Union of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack;" and brothers, John and Frank.
Surviving are her daughters, Jean Kopcza, Davie, Fla.; Rosemary Petrosky, Daleville; Helen Knick, Duryea; and Barbara Nowicki, Bayonne, N.J.; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Amelia Liska, Scranton; brothers, Peter, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Joseph, Rudlen, N.Y.; Walter, Clarks Summit; and Thomas, Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.

Theresa Grijak, 87, a resident of the Taylor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Hospital Street, Taylor, formerly of McClure Avenue, Old Forge, died Wednesday at the center.
Born Nov. 15, 1913, in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late Myron and Efrozina (Matechak) Petrowsky. She attended Old Forge schools. She was a member of St. Stephen's Russian Orthodox Church, Old Forge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, William and Harry; and sisters, Anna and Mary Petrowsky, Julia Gyza and Barbara Malish.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Basil Malish, Washington, D.C.; Myron Petrowsky, Taylor; John Gyza, Philadelphia; Theodora Travia, Feasterville; and Janet Petrowsky, Taylor; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Russian Orthodox Church, 641 Hickory St., Old Forge. The Rev. German Ciuba will officiate. Michael Joseph Yech IV, four-months-old, of West Carey Street, Plains Township, died Thursday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 2000, in Kingston, he was the son of Michael John, III and Sheri (Hunter) Yech.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his sister, Madison, at home; paternal grandparents, Michael J., Jr. and Harriet (Johnson) Yech, Ashley; maternal grandparents, Dean Hunter, Hunlock Creek; and Jo-Anncq (Hillard) Lewis, Pittston; paternal great-grandfather, Walter Johnson, Wilkes-Barre; maternal great-grandparents, William and Geraldine Hillard, Hunlock Creek; and Jane Hunter, Hunlock Creek; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A private funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Carol E. Coleman officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. A family viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Jeanne M. Gunther, 87, formerly of Hamilton Street, Allentown, and Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at the Lehigh Center, Macungie.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Peter F. and Matilda P. (Phillips) Steinhauer. She was a bridal consultant for the former Zollinger's, Whitehall, and for Hess's, Allentown. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D.
Surviving are nieces and one nephew.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville section of Kingston Township. Arrangements are by the J.S. Born Dec. 24, 1964, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of William Stubbs and the late Bernice (Van Duser) Slater. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was a housekeeper at the Clarks Summit State Hospital.

Born Aug. 30, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Catherine (Boyle) Baluta, Mountaintop, and the late Joseph Flynn. He was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He was self-employed as a prosthetist. He was a musician with several area bands.
Surviving are his wife, the former Kimberly Gilbert; son, Casey Michael; stepson, Matthew Dillon, Plymouth; and brother, James Woodruff, Plymouth.

Daniel T. Boyle, 82, of John Street, Kingston, died Friday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Sept. 20, 1918, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Charles and Helen "Nell" (Moran) Boyle. He attended local schools and was a 1937 graduate of the former Kingston High School. He was a window clerk for the U.S. Post Office at Station A, Market Street, Wilkes-Barre. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Military Police in the European Theater of Operations. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston, Holy Name Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 283, Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Margaret Bonomo; second wife, the former Margaret Helen (Lampman) Berlew; sisters, Katherine Bryan and Helen Moran; and brothers, Joseph and Charles Boyle.
Surviving are his granddaughter, Amy Marie Berlew, with whom he resided; nieces and nephews.

Born in White Haven, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Klem) Baranyak. She worked in the garment industry and during World War II, she worked at Atlas Powder C. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, White Haven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and sisters, Mary Timinsky, Katherine Yankanich and Anna Krull.
Surviving are her daughters, Catherine Merola, Kissimmee, Fla.; and Rose Mary Clymer, White Haven; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John Gaidula, 81, of West Scranton, died Friday at Mercy Hospice of Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born May 6, 1919, in Taylor, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary (Dankulich) Gaidula Pollack. He worked for Scranton Produce. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Scranton, Taylor American Legion Post 306 and American Ukrainian Veterans Association, Scranton.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Pastor, Mary Zarpolie, Susan Zigmont and Elizabeth Barkiewicz; and brothers, Michael Gaydulacq, Joseph Gaidula and Andrew Pollack.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Catherine Purawic; sons, John, Taylor; Donald, Sykesville, Md.; and Ed, Moosic; daughters, Karen Nebesky, West Pittston; and Susanne Juba, Beaver; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Moroschak, Taylor; and Irene Emilanie, New Jersey; and brother, Stephen Pollack, Taylor.
The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, North Main and Howell streets, Scranton. Delores (Ultsh) Hirkey, of Stoney Mountain Road, Tunkhannock, passed away on Thursday evening at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 19, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Bishop) Ultsh. She was a graduate of Fall Overfield High School class of 1937, and had been employed by the Donnelly Directory in Scranton and by Trehab in Tunkhannock as a secretary, retiring in December of last year. She was a member of the Church of The Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock, former tax auditor for Washington Township, Wyoming County, and served as a former Republican committee women in Washington Township. She was a member of the Wyoming County Dairymen's League, serving on the committee to elect the Dairy Princess of Wyoming County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd F. Hirkey, on March 27, 1982.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Michele Hirkey, of Meshoppen; Fred and Leslie Hirkey, of Tunkhannock; brother, Edward Ultsh, of Lake Winola; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Katherine Ultsh, of Long Island, N.Y.; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Charles Castleburry, of Clifton, N.J.; grandchildren, Lloyd, Amanda and Abbey Hirkey, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
