Mae Jones, 89, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Wagner Street, Moosic, died Jan. 1 in Clearwater.
Born in Old Forge, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Esther (Hughes) Williams. She attended Old Forge schools. She and her late husband operated Jones Cafe, Main Street, Moosic. She was a member of the Nebo Congregational United Church of Christ, Old Forge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; brothers, Thomas, James and Walter; and sisters, Ada Burnside, Betty Talarico, Rachel Deciccio, Ann and Romayne Williams.
Surviving are her sister, Peggy Williams Guzzi, Clearwater; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date at the Nebo Congregational United Church of Christ, Main Street, Old Forge, at the convenience of the family. Interment of her cremainscq will be private in the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Local arrangements are by the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.

Rosemary Heck, 54, of Darling Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Oct. 4, 1946, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Edward P. and Rosemary (McAndrew) McNulty. She was a graduate of Pittston High School. She worked in the garment industry. She was of the Catholic faith. She also was an organ donor.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James McNulty.
Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Donald R.; sons, Edward, Wilkes-Barre; Brian, Laurel Run; and Robert, at home; daughters, Roseann Sims, North Carolina; and Charlene Heck, Plymouth; eight grandchildren; brothers, Bobby McNulty, Wilkes-Barre; John McNulty, Harveys Lake; and Edward McNulty, Pittston; sister, Theresa Schwartz, Wilkes-Barre Township; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel, Hanover Township. Monsignor John J. Sempa will officiate. There will be no procession to the Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.

Malcolm A. Kitchen, 79, a resident of the Guy and Mary Felt Manor, died Thursday at the Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.
Born Sept. 28, 1921, in Mountain Springs, he was the son of Arthur and Emily (McCloskey) Kitchen. He was a graduate of Dallas High School. He assistant dam tender at the Stevenson Dam. He was in charge of several stream improvement projects in Wykoff Run and Brooks Run. He was a scoutmaster in Shavertown, Kingston Township, and Sinnamahoning.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, the former Freda Stroud, Harrisburg; daughters, Susan Diebler, Sinnamahoning; and Karen Homing, Emporium; and Kim Bloom, Harrisburg; son, Malcolm J., Emporium; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Louise Buckalew, Fairmont Springs.
The funeral and Committal Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dwight Simpson officiating. Burial will be Gilmore Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Edward M. Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium. Memorial donations may be made to the Cameron County Ambulance Association; or to the Guy and Mary Felt Manor Auxiliary.

Stephania (Petroski) Kozak, 85, of West Church Street, Nanticoke, formerly of Sugar Notch and the Buttonwood section of Hanover Township, died Friday at Mercy Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke.
Born in West Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Helen (Felixa) Brodowicz Wisniewski. She attended Hanover Township schools. She worked for United Pants. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Petroski; second husband, Frank Kozak; brothers, Stanley, David and Leonard Wisniewski; and sister, Ethel Wisniewski.
Surviving are her son, Eugene Petroski, Trucksville section of Kingston Township; daughters, Bernice Youk, Chalfont; Carolyn Snyder, Dallas; and Patricia Pitts, Douglas, Ga.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Westbrook, Lillian Czekaj, Violet Wisniewski and Rose Marie Witinski, all of Nanticoke; nieces and nephews.

Helen I. Melcher, 96, of Harland Street, Exeter, died Friday at East Mountain Manor, Plains Township.
Born Dec. 19, 1904, in Duryea, she was a daughter of the late John and Marcella (Lalocas) Pakutka. She attended Duryea schools. She worked at Electronics Co., Cleveland. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hughestown.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, John and Vincent Pakutka, and Alfred Pakcard; and sister, Mildred Fedden.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Bernard J. Pinola, 57, of Blue Bell, died Thursday at Fox Chase Cancer Center.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre. He was a graduate of King's College. He was a certified public accountant and worked at died Thursday at the Riverstreet Manor.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Doboney) Sakalas. She attended Wilkes-Barre area schools. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a housekeeper for various pastors, includin the late Rev. Nicolas Chopay. She served on the Mother's Club of St. Mary's, St. Nicholas Apostolate, the bingo committee, assisted with annual parish bazaars and was a member of the 75th Anniversary committee for the parish school.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Sakalas; and brothers, Theodore and John D. "Jinx."
Surviving are her brothers, George J., at home; Dr. Michael Lansdone and Charles, both of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Ann Sakalas Gajewski, Dover, Del.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services with Panachida will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the John V. Morris Funeral Home, 625 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph M. Kakalec, SJ, will officiate. Raymond M. Surridge, 73, a resident of the Andover Subacute Rehabilitation Center, Mulford Road, Andover, N.J., formerly of Main Street, Hackettstown, N.J., died Thursday at the center.
Born June 10, 1927, in Gravity, he was a son of the late John and Ethel (Swingle) Surridge. He attended Vardon schools. He worked for Williams Hibler Inc., Hackettstown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Army Occupation (Germany Clasp) World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Hackettstown, N.J.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rowland and Jack.
Surviving are his brother, William "Bill" J., Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
A Blessing Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with the Rev. Philip A. Altavilla officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Interment of the cremainscq will be at a later date in the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea. Because of illness in the family, flowers are not requested.

Johanna M. Stout, 85, formerly of Fairview Park, Fairview Township, Mountaintop, died Thursday at Davis Manor, Wright Township.
Born Nov. 4, 1915, in West Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Hedschle) Devitt. She was a member of the former St. Catherine's Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward "Ned;" and four sisters.
Surviving are her daughter, Marlene Toll, Marblehead, Mass.; sons, Dr. Kenneth, Lafayette Hill; and James, Butler Township; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 19 at St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountaintop. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the McCune Funeral Home Inc., Mountaintop.

Born Jan. 11, 1937, in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Stanislow and the late Michael Stanislow. She was a 1954 graduate of Edwardsville High School. She worked for Dean Witter Reynolds Inc., Wilkes-Barre, and First Eastern Bank, Downtown Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of Retired Sergeant Majors Auxiliary, National Guard Association Auxiliary and St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood section of Hanover Township.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, James J., Jr.; son, James J., III, Trooper; two grandchildren; sisters, Betty Burba, Lady Lake, Fla.; brothers, James Stanislow, East Brunswick, N.J.; Edward Stanislow, Aston; and Michael Stanislow, Larksville; and several nieces and nephews.

Hattie Thiel, 85, of Wesley Village, Jenkins Township, where she was a resident for the past two years, died Thursday at Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born July 31, 1915, in Fannett, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Sadie (Burrell) Heiman. She worked for Baptist Hospital, Beaumont, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Edward; grandson, John Darren Boudreaux; and sister, Addie Lane.
Surviving are her son, Ron Boudreaux, Wyoming; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Virgil Heiman, Beaumont.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Broussard's Mortuary, 2000 McFaddin Ave., Beaumont, Texas, with the Rev. John Bickum officiating. Interment will be in Forrestcq Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. She was born in Austria-Hungary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; and daughter, Esther Bernson.
Surviving are her sons, Dr. Burton, Kingston; Dr. Harvey, Riverdale; and Rabbi David, Teaneck, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Hershel Markovitz, Jerusalem; and Sam Markovitz, Silver Springs, Md.

Ruth (Jennings) Pennoni, 83, of Rose Avenue, Plains Township, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital Inpatient Unit of Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Duffy) Jennings. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Joseph Parish, Plains Township, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was the president of the Northeast Deanery, Scranton Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and Ladies of Charity. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Loyola 619, Plains Women's Club and Plains Senior Citizens. She volunteered with the Plains Division of the Red Cross Blood Bank. She was a Den Mother with Pack 100 and a member of Father's Club 100 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amerigo A.; and sisters, Elizabeth Jennings, Margaret Hinchey and Frances Jennings.
Surviving are her children, Henry, at home; Robert, Malvern; Maribeth Hamden, Connecticut; and Andrew, Ashland; two grandchildren, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
