Celia L. (Lispi) Marini, 84, of Brick, N.J., formerly of Lyndhurst, N.J., died Friday at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Brick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando.
Surviving are her daughter, Rita McCormick-Keegan, Manchester, N.J.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at the Church of Visitation Roman Catholic Church. Michael C. Marranca, 84, of Pittston, died Friday at his home.
Born Jan. 9, 1917, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Anthony and Sandra (Ferrante) Marranca. He was a coal miner and a milk man for Grablick's Dairy, until retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, Pittston, Pittston Rod and Gun Club, Big Band Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania and social member of the Italian Citizens Club, Pittston Township.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Saitta, Florence Analore and Carmella Angelella; and brothers, Paul and Sam.
Surviving are his wife, Angeline (Aquilina) Marranca; son, Anthony, Laflin; daughter, Leona Scarantino, Pittston Township; four grandchildren; brothers, Joseph, West Pittston; and Carmen, Trenton, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 700 Pittston Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church. Regina (Smocarski) Smocharski, 80, of East Main Street, Glen Lyon section of Newport Township, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born April 25, 1920, in the Hanover section of Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Tatara) Wrobel. She was a graduate of Nanticoke High School. She was a member of St. Dennis Church, Glen Lyon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; brothers, Leo and Peter; and sisters, Sophie Piqutus and Helen Squires.
Surviving are her daughter, Edwina Pohlidal, Glen Lyon; four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. today from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Stanley Joseph Stypulkoski, 75, of Endicott, N.Y., died Monday in Florida.
He was born June 20, 1925, in Shickshinny. He was a former owner of the Sterling Dental Lab, Endicott. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Church, Endicott, and member of the Endicott Men's Bowling Association and was elected into The American Hall of Fame for Bowling.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Anne Wido; daughters, Connie Herrilka and Susan Green, both of Florida; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rose and Ceil Stypulkoski, both of Shickshinny.
Private services will be held at St. Ambrose Church, Deerfield, Fla., at the convenience of the family.

Catherine Sosnowski, 91, of West Shawnee Avenue, Plymouth, died Friday at the Birchwood Nursing Home, Nanticoke.
Born Aug. 1, 1909, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Krawitz) Makuch. She attended Plymouth and Plymouth Township schools. She was a member of St. Mary's-St. Stephen's Church Community, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Anthony Koprowski (Cooper); second husband, Julius Sosnowski; daughter, Mary Ann Cooper Sepkowski; brother, Peter (Marko) Makuch; and sisters, Margaret Krufka, Helen Kusack and Mary Pudlowski.
Surviving are her daughters, Pearl Cooper Kinney, Plymouth Township; and Cathy Wiliszewski, Old Bridge, N.J.; stepdaughter, Audrey Miscavage, West Wyoming; stepson, Richard Sosnowski, Honey Pot section of Nanticoke; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Willard, Moundville, Ala.; and Victoria Brojakowski, Plymouth Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth. Whitebread, Robert

Robert O. Whitebread, 76, of South Main Street, Shickshinny, died Friday at his home.
Born June 3, 1924, in Mocanaqua, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Laura (Harter) Whitebread. He was a graduate of the former Shickshinny High School. He was a rural route carrier at the Shickshinny Post Office for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 705th Combat Battalion as a military policeman in the European and Pacific Theaters.
He served on the Shickshinny Borough Council and on the Sewer Authority for many years. He was a member and trustee of the First United Methodist Church, Shickshinny, member of the Shickshinny Fire Co. and Shickshinny Ambulance Association and charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shickshinny.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Whitebread and Esther May; and brothers, Ray, Hertz, Donald and Russel.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sara Taylor; daughter, Bonnie Whitebread, Reading; son, Robert D., Shickshinny; three grandchildren; and brother, Lamott, Plymouth, Mich.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St. Shickshinny, with the Rev. Dean A. Walrath officiating. Burial will be in Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn. Catherine T. Warner, 90, of Monahan Court, Newtown, Hanover Township, died Friday at Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Jan. 12, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (McGuiness) Smith. She was a graduate of St. Leo's High School. She was a seamstress in several of the area sewing factories, before retiring. She was a member of St. Leo's Church, Ashley, charter member and organizer of the local International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Madeline M. Bitsko, 90, formerly of Plymouth, died Wednesday at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helena Krawiec Dudek and was a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth.
She moved to New York in 1942 and worked for Schrafts Restaurant for about 30 years, returning to Plymouth in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Turella; second husband, Joseph Bitsko; sister, Julia Pencak; brothers, Joseph and Peter Dudek.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Bitsko, Hazleton; step daughter, Bernice Kirby, Hackettstown, N.J.; sister, Anna Kuroski, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Nativity Church, Plymouth. Eleanor D. Bacheson, of Kingston, died Saturday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Kunkle, she was the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Mary Balut Novitsky. She was a graduate of Kingston High School and the Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business.
She was employed as a secretary to the principal of Kingston High School and by the Lancaster County Tax Assessor's Office. She was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin P. Bacheson Sr.; sister, Theresa; brothers, Stanley Jr. and Raymond.
Surviving are her sons, Edwin Jr., Bethel Park; Brian, Marion, Ind.; daughter, Margaret Bacheson, Philadelphia; sisters, Mary, Kingston; Margaret Law, Bushkill; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mary Golden Chamberlain, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, at Little Flower Manor, where she was a resident for the past two and a half years.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Feb. 1, 1914, daughter of the late Charles and Helen Panzak Golden.
She was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, class of 1932, and was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, where she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She also served as Clerk of Elections for Luzerne County Bureau of Elections and was a member of the Colony Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Chamberlain, on Feb. 1, 1971; sister, Elinorcq Rapchinski, of Wilkes-Barre, in 1994; and brother, Raymond Golden, of Carmichael, Calif., in 1998.
Surviving are her daughter, Maureen Chamberlain, Wilkes-Barre; son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Barbara Chamberlain, Mountaintop, all recent retirees of the Wilkes-Barre Area School District; granddaughter, Cathy Wotring and husband, Michael Wotring, Jenkins Township; granddaughter, Ellen Chamberlain, Queens, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Martha Golden, Grand Rapids, Mich.; nieces, Ruthann Balz, Edgewater, Fla.; Sandra Boris, Wilkes-Barre; Jill Baltzer, Rocklin, Calif.; Elaine Murphy, Wilkes-Barre; as well as several cousins.

Born Jan. 17, 1928, in Jenkins Township, she was the daughter of the late Weldon and Beatrice Appleby Thomas and step daughter of Velma Thomas. She was a 1946 graduate of Lehman High School.
She was employed by the United Pants and Gent J., both of Plymouth, and at Leggieri's Deli, Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J.; brothers, Edgar and Walter.
Surviving are her son, William J., Dallas; daughter, Pat Tasco, Edwardsville; brother, Lawrence, Florida; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Barbara Dean Demorat, of Wilkes-Barre Street, Hanover Township, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Bond Mangan. She was a graduate of Hanover High School, class of 1951. She was a member of St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood section of Hanover Township. She was a beloved mother and housewife. Barbara was employed for 20 years at Lyndwood Fashion, Fellow Avenue, Hanover Township, retiring in 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on April 10, 1992.
Surviving are her daughters, Collen Demorat Dombroski, Newtown Square; Donna Demorat, Hanover Township; four grandchildren, Michael Hart, Jonathan Hart, Ian Dombroski and Allison Dombroski; sisters, Delores McNeill, Hanover Township; Judy Chado, Nanticoke; brothers, Harry Mangan, Hanover Township; Joseph Mangan, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

Ertley, Viola

Viola P. Ertley, 92, of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Sunrise Rehabilitation Center, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Born May 29, 1908, in Forty Fort, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Amanda Johnson Plieskatt. She attended Forty Fort public schools and went on to business school.
Together with her late husband of 56 years, David A. Ertley, who died in 1986, she was co-founder in 1936 of the Ertley Dealerships. It grew to 14 franchises, located on the 60 acres of Ertley Motorworld, which she and J.D. Power encouraged her son Ronald to build. She remained an officer of the company until it changed ownership in 1999.
Mrs. Ertley had a great interest and love of the arts and was a member of various arts and musical associations.
She was also past president of the West Side Women's Club; was a charter member with her husband of Coral Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale; was a member of the Irem Temple Country Club Women's Golf Association and was an avid sports fan, following basketball, baseball and bowling.
Mrs. Ertley is survived by three children, son, Ronald D., Dallas; daughters, Phyllis Johnson, Plains Township; Susan Eikenberry, Wilkesboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Stephen's Pro-Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Canon Donald J. Muller, rector, officiating. Family will greet friends following the services. Burial will take place after the services in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. All are invited to attend the interment. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to St. Stephen's Organ Fund, 35 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, or to the American Heart Association, 71 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre.
