Rita K. Rague
Rita K. Rague, 87, of the Laurels, Wellsboro, died March 30, 2002. She was a retired elementary school teacher.
She is survived by daughters: Patricia Maldonado and Joan Regan; a son, Attorney James T. Rague, III, Wellsboro; and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Wellsboro. Arrangements by Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home “A Life Celebration Home,” Wellsboro.

Earl A. Turner
Earl A. Turner, 68, of 808 Tule St., Montoursville, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at his home. Born January 12, 1934, in Hillsgrove, he was a son of Louis and Bessie Conrad Turner.
Earl was a 1951 graduate of Montoursville High School. He was employed by International Furniture for more than 20 years and retired from Pennsylvania Power and Light after 20 more years of work. He was a frequent blood donor for the Red Cross and was an avid hunter and camper.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Jane Bickel, whom he marriage in 1954; a daughter, Kathie A. Rasdorf, of South Williamsport; two sons, Michael A. Turner of Clarkstown and Mark W. Turner of Huntersville; two grandchildren, Amanda Turner and Aaron Rasdorf; two brothers, Paul M. and Dale O. Turner of Williamsport; and a sister, Thelma J. Weaver of Montoursville. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Ronald O. Doan, of Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to either the American Cancer Society, 1848 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Boulevard, Williamsport, PA, 17701.

Alice May Carey
Alice May Carey, 86, of 203 W. Garland Ave., Fairborn, OH, formerly of Webb St., Williamsport, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Kettering Memorial Hospital, Kettering, OH. She was the daughter of John and Gertrude Fronk Eoute. Her husband, Francis Pat Carey, died in 1977.
She retired in 1988 from Brodart, where she had worked for 16 years. She was a member of Ascension Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Saar of York, Mary Jo, wife of Keith Spiegel of Williamsport; one son, Lawrence, husband of Martha Carey of Fairborn, OH, with whom she lived; seven grandchildren, Theresa Saar, Robert Saar, Richard Saar, Christine Fuguate, Lori Kaufman, Jamie Spiegel, Keith Spiegel and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Carey, in 1996.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, with the Reverend Charles Cummings of Ascension Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

Mrs. Bernice L. Garman
Mrs. Bernice L. Garman, 72, of 1141 Pine Creek Ave., Jersey Shore, died Sunday, March 31, 2002, in the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.
Born Sept. 9, 1929, in Greenburr, she was the daughter of Charles N. Lamey and the former Elsie Confer. She was united in marriage June 22, 1947, to Foster Henry Lee Garman; he preceded her in death May 16, 1985.
For many years, she was a member of the Lighthouse Wesleyan Church of Jersey Shore and was retired from Manor Care Health Center after 20 years of service.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Christine A. Vairo of Jersey Shore; two sons, Charles L. Garman and Jeffrey L. Garman, both of Jersey Shore; three sisters, Jennie Heckman of Zion, Eleanor Myers of Jersey Shore and Loretta Terry of Jersey Shore; one brother, Carl Lamey of Antes Fort; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.

Mildred A. Hane
Mildred A. Hane, 84, of Williamsport, died March 31, 2002, at Manor Care Health Services North.
She was born July 3, 1917, in Morris Run, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Jankiewicz Mackowiak.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alfred W. Hane; three sons, Larry W. Hane of Williamsport, David A. Hane of Williamsport and Robert M. Hane of Boalsburg; a daughter, Ann Marie Griggs of Zanesville, OH; a sister, Irene Gohrig of Williamsport; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 9:30 in the church, 326 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the church from 8:30-9:30.
Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 Third St.

Charles H. Hehle
Charles H. Hehle, 90, of 18 Hoover St., died Sunday, March 31, 2002, at his home. Born July 7, 1911, in Williamsport, he was a son of Clarence Hehle and Katie Grove Hehle Walters.
He and his wife, the former Margaret J. Lundy, were marriage over 65 years.
Mr. Hehle was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was employed in sales most of his working career, having worked at Richardson Buick, Hehle Auto Sales, the Nicklaus Agency and Hehle Stained Glass.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann “Peg” and John Lowmiller of Cogan Station.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nedra April and Neola Houser.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with his pastor, the Rev. Melvin D. Bole, officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at Sanders’ from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Helen Virginia Martino
Helen Virginia Martino, 76, of Jersey Shore, died April 1, 2002.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Agape Fellowship, 485 E. Third St.
Arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St.

G. Birton Miller
G. Birton Miller, Sr., 91, of Eagles Mere, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his home. He is predeceased by his wife of 71 years, the former Zoe Irene Lockard, who died May 9, 2000. Born May 22, 1910, in Muncy Valley, he was a son of Willard C. “Pete” and Jennie May Richart Miller.
Retiring in 1974 as a district sales manager, he had worked 36 years for De Laval Separator Co. Following retirement, he had worked the past 19 years at the pro shop of the Eagles Mere Country Club.
He was a member of the Community Church of Eagles Mere, where he had formerly served on the board. In addition, Mr. Miller had formerly served on the Eagles Mere Borough Council.
He had attended school in Eagles Mere and graduated from the former Picture Rocks High School.
Surviving are three daughters, Ruth A. Gass of Orangeville, Carol A. Mathias of Hummelstown and Sharon L. Miller of Cobbs Creek, VA; three sons, Randall I. of Cornwall, Max L. of Newmanstown and George B. Jr. of Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by a son, Donald W. Miller; a granddaughter, Dawn M. Miller; two brothers, Leo A. and Willard C. Miller and a half brother, Lester Swank.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community Church of Eagles Mere with Rev. Deane Shively officiating. A private burial will be held in Webster Cemetery, Huntersville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Community Church of Eagles Mere, Eagles Mere PA 17731 or the Columbia Montour Home Health Hospice, Locust Court, 599 E. Seventh St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
