Sadie Mae Yoder
MUNCY - Sadie Mae Yoder, 20, of 210 Aquatic Road, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 54 outside Turbotville on Monday. She and her husband, Amos B. Yoder, celebrated their first anniversary Nov. 10. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Congregation. Born Nov. 11, 1979, in Salisbury Township, she was a daughter of David I. and Dora K. Glick Glick. Surviving, besides her husband, are her parents of Mill Hall RR; a daughter, Dora K. at home; six brothers, John E. and Abner B. Glick, both of Loganton, Aaron K., Daniel G. David I. Jr. and Amos K. Glick, all of Mill Hall; two sisters, Anna Beiler of Loganton and Sarah Glick of Mill Hall RR; and maternal step-grandmother, Annie Glick of Gap. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Fannie Glick. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Amos Yoder residence, 210 Aquatic Road. Burial will be in Muncy Hills Old Order Amish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Yoder residence today. Arrangements are being handled by Brook’s, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville.

Elizabeth E. DeFilippo
WELLSBORO - Elizabeth E. DeFilippo, 71, of Lincoln Street, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. She and her husband, Joseph D. DeFilippo, observed their 49th wedding anniversary Feb. 3. She was a homemaker, former telephone operator, private secretary, and a well known local amateur artist. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Wellsboro Pa, member and chairman of the Docens and past president and treasurer of the Wellsboro Art Club. She was a 1947 graduate of Groton-on-Hudson High School, Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. Born March 12, 1929, in Croton-on-Hudson, she was a daughter of Louis and Louisa Scalzo Pettorini. Surviving, besides her husband, are 2 sons, Joseph D. Jr of Cerritos Ca., and Robert L. of Harrison City; a daughter, Deborah Owlett of Wellsboro; a sister, Edith Pettorini of Croton-on-Hudson; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Victoria Harrison, Adele Pettorini and Anna Merrit; and by a brother, Joseph Pettorini. A private family Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael J. Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro.

Donald E. George
Services will be at the convenience of the family for Donald E. George, 63, of 2682 Lycoming Creek Road, who died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at home. He retired from the former H. Warshow and Son, Montoursville. Born Sept. 14, 1936, in Montoursville, he was a son of Wtman L. and Bertha George Robbins. Surviving are two daughters, Darlene M. of this city and Debra Day with whom he lived; three sons, Donald L. of Houston, Texas, David S. of Coagn Station and Brett E. of this city; a brother, Robert of Montoursville; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl and two sisters, Ruth and Louise. A memorial service will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

Mary Charlotte Hartman
Mary Charlotte Hartman, 87, of Bellmont Ave., died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at Williamsport Hospital. Her husband, W. Howard Hartman died Dec. 28, 1987. She worked for various charities in the area. She was a member of Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of Church of the Annunciation. Surviving are a daughter, Connie Wise of Leicester, N.C.; a son, William H. Jr. of Indian Shore, Fla.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Hartman and Alison Wise; and a great-grandson. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St.

Ruth Houseknecht
Ruth Houseknecht, of 905 Wolf Run Road, Trout Run, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at home. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

Dorothy A. H. Rishel
Dorothy A. Hoffman Rishel, 50, of Jersey Shore, formerly of Sugar Valley, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at Williamsport Hospital. She was the wife of Bruce Rishel. She was a sales attendant at Farmers Growers Market and worked at Rishel’s Furniture Company, both in Lock Haven. She was a substitute teacher’s aide for Lycoming-Clinton County Head Start. She enjoyed bingo, auctions, flea markets, and gardening. Born Sept. 25, 1949, she was the daughter of Jesse W. Hoffman Sr. and Doris M. Spong Hoffman. Surviving besides her husband, are her mother of Lock Haven; five sons, David Riggle of Lock Haven, Hayes Rishel of Renovo, Teddy Hoffman of Jersey Shore, John W. Hoffman Sr., Loganton, and George Hoffman, Akron, Ohio; five daughters, Lynn Hoffman, Stephanie Younkin and Tammy Puzak, all of Avis, Nancy Rishel, of Williamsport, and Billie Jo Fuller of Jersey Shore; two stepsons, Bruce R. Rishel and Harry Rishel, both of McElhattan; three step daughters, Minnie Bauman of Salladasburg, Sara Beirly of Muncy, and Vickie Harmon of State College; four brothers, Jesse Hoffman Jr. of Williamsport, Richard Hoffman of Loganton, Clarence Hoffman of Oval and Leroy Hoffman of Cogan Station; two sisters Canda Krugle of Lavonia and Audrey Rishel of Antes Fort; 24 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight step-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, Main and Water Streets, Loganton, with the Rev. Carl Vining, House of Juda, officiating. Interment will be at the Tylersville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight.

Ronald Dennis Spencer
The funeral will be Friday for Ronald Dennis Spencer, 53, well known Canton resident, who died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, at his home. He was chief executive officer at First National Bank of Canton. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Canton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 714 and the Lions Club. He was active in the Community Nursing Service. He was a member of Canton Church of Christ Disciples. He enjoyed running and yard work. He had played guitar for The Couriers in the 1980s. Born Dec. 23, 1946 in Elmira, N.Y., he was a son of William A. and Mildred Cole Spencer. Surviving are a son, Robert of Weymouth, Mass.; a daughter, Rayna Michele of Canton; two brothers, William Jr. of Granville Summit and Douglas of Troy; and three sisters, Donna Rathbun and Darlene Blasz, both of Granville Summit and Cheri of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pepper’s, Springbrook Drive, Canton, with the Rev. David B. Morris, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Beech Flats Cemetery with military honors accorded by the combined veterans organizations. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight. The family will provide the flowers.

Douglas A. Anderson
Douglas A. Anderson, 51, of 491 E. Lime Bluff Road, Muncy, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in Northumberland. He and his wife, the former Jane L. Reynolds DiMassimo, observed their first wedding anniversary on June 27. He was employed for more than 27 years by Muncy School District as a mathematics teacher. He served as an offensive line coach and defensive coordinator for Muncy varsity football team, and was previously varsity track, varsity wrestling, and junior high girls basketball coach at Muncy High School. He was a strength and conditioning coach, working with student athletes. He was a volunteer fireman and member of Northumberland Hook and Ladder Co. and Norththumberland Fire Co. 1. He was 1966 graduate of Shikellamy High School and graduated from Bloomsburg University where he received his teaching degree. He earned his Masters in Education from Wilkes University. Born July 10, 1948 in Sunbury, he was a son of Robert C. and Helen B. Packer Anderson. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, William V. of Mt. Caramel; three daughters, Jennifer L. Smith and Lori J. Swanger, both of Northumberland, and Katelin J. of Mt. Carmel; a stepson, Albert “Buck” DiMassimo of Waterville; two stepdaughters, Lynn M. DiMassimo of Loyalsock and Lori DiMassimo, at home; two brothers, Michael R. of Selinsgrove and Robert A. of Dallas; two sisters, Martha Keener and Ann Gehers, both of Sunbury; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Stanley T. Schuyler Football Stadium, Muncy High School, W. Penn St. Muncy. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the stadium. A second memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Third and Queen Streets, Northumberland, with the Rev. Dale F. Biesecker Jr. officiating. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 South Main Street, Muncy.

Nicole Marie Ault,
Accident Victim
The funeral will be Saturday for Nicole Marie Ault, 19, of 426 Woodley Hollow Road, Muncy, who died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in a accident in Ocean City, Md. She was a junior at Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., majoring in exercise science. She was on the dean’s list and swim team. She was a 1998 graduate of Montoursville Area High School where she was a member of the swim team, USS swim team, National Honor Society, Key Club, Ski Club and History Club. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and its bell choir. Born Jan. 10, 1981, in this city, she was a daughter of Michael and Teresa Welshans Ault. Surviving, besides her parents, are a brother, Matthew M. of Muncy; paternal grandmother, Peggy A. Ault of Montoursville; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Welshans, Tampa, Fla.; and maternal great-grandmother, Etta Welshans of Muncy. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, 700 Fairview Drive., Montoursville, with her pastors, the Rev. Paul C. Murphy and Bruce D. Fisher, retired, officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11:30 Saturday. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

Bruce C. Brownlee
MUNCY – Bruce C. Brownlee, 49, formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000 in the skilled nursing unit of Muncy Valley Hospital. He was employed by Brodart of Williamsport. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School. Born Dec. 5, 1950 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Clyde E. and Dorothy M. Lucas Brownlee who survives. Surviving, besides his mother, are a brother, Howard E. Brownlee of Hughesville; three sisters, Nancy M. Lucas of Bloomington, Ind., H. Ellen Hill of Hughesville, and Carol A. Callahan of State College; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Welker’s, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. Wendy Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Robert A. Bullock
Robert A. Bullock, 89, of 1416 Locust St., died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Rose View Manor Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Katherine Neyhart, he and his second wife, the former Carolyn Welsh observed their 24th wedding anniversary Nov. 1. He retired as President of R.A. Bullock Lumber Co. Inc. He was organizer and founder of Bear Hollow Hunting Club, Inc. He was a 50 year member of F&AM Ivy Lodge 397. He was a member of the Ross Club, the Wheel Inn, Re Run Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church. He was a trout and salmon fisherman. Born Nov. 24, 1910 in Julian, he was a son of Edward S. and Berta E. Faxon Bullock. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Jonathan S. of this city; a step-son, William W. Hartman of this city; a stepdaughter, Lisa E. Hartman of Baltimore, Md.; and four grandchildren, Jason R., Kristofer S., Kimberly A. and Robert C. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert S.; a sister, Betty A. Levis; and three brothers, Frederick B. Matthew T. and Lewis “Ted”. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 441 Pine St., with the Rev. Drue Sherman, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St.

Gary W. Campbell
Gary W. Campbell, 44, of Beautys Run Road, Cogan Station, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at home. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School. Born March 22, 1956, in this city, he was a son of Tracy L. and Ethel Decker Campbell. Surviving are two brothers, Gayne L. of Montoursville and Larry A. of this city and a sister, Janet M. Babb of Derry, N.H. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sanders’, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Charlotte P. Eck
Charlotte P. Eck, 80, formerly of Salladasburg, died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Williamsport Home. Her husband, Miles Eck, died in 1973. He retired in 1985 from C.A. Reed Co. in this city after 18 years. Born Feb. 25, 1920 in Pine Run, he was a son of Henry Franklin and Grace Esther Abernatha Hillyard. Surviving are a daughter, Carol L. Blaker of Muncy; two stepsons, David Warren and Charles Samuel, both in Georgia; a sister, Erma Markley of Cogan Station; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Harold Hillyard and a sister, Edna Confer. The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Rearick-Carpenter’s, 1002 Allegheny St., with the Rev. David Weaver, officiating. Burial will be in Salladasburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Harold L. Ergott Sr.
JERSEY SHORE - Harold L. Ergott Sr., 92, of 517 Wilson St., died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at Manor Care Nursing Center, where he had been for a month. His wife, the former Faye Eileen McCullough, died in 1973. He retired in 1973 after 36 years at Piper Aircraft. He was a member of LaBelle Vallee Masonic Lodge. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Born April 1, 1908, in Cross Fork he was a son of William Henry and Hannah R Huffman Ergott. Surviving are a daughter, Carol F. Baker of Milton; a brother, Lowell of Avis; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Rearick-Carpenter’s, 1002 Allegheny St. with the Rev. W. Kenneth Rockwell, his pastor officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, with a masonic service at 3:50.
