Kathryn R. Blakeslee, 83, of 1251 Rural Ave., formerly of Bellefonte, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Rose View Center. She and her husband, Glen L. Blakeslee, Sr., had been married in 1936. She was a homemaker. She was a 1934 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Bellefonte. Born May 11, 1917, in Johnsonburg, she was a daughter of Lyal and Leona Payne Mahoney. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy A. Charles of this city and Dorothy M. Blakeslee of Gaithersburg, Md.; a son, Glen L. Blakeslee, Jr. of this city; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wetzler’s, 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, with the Rev. James M. Foster, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday. The family will provide the flowers.
Edna May Gehr
Edna May Gehr, 79, of 2296 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Manor Care Health Services, after brief illness. Her husband, Charles R. Gehr, died Nov. 5, 1994. She was a member of Hepburn Baptist Church. Born Oct. 16, 1920, Allenwood, she was a daughter of William and Mary Ruth Shriner. Surviving are a son, Ted of Cogan Station; a daughter, Kathryn M. of this city; a sister, Mabel Claudius of Allenwood; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Mark Mahserjian-Smith, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stoltz Cemetery, Cogan Station. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Knight-Confer’s 1914 Memorial Ave.
Neil Gorchesky
Neil Gorchesky, 29, of Penn Furnace, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at home. He worked at Sam’s Club. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Penn College of Technology. He was a member of Good Shepard Catholic Church, State College. He was an avid fisherman, conservationist and fan of Pittsburgh Penguins hockey. Surviving are his parents; a sister, Lauren of Penn Furnace; and paternal grandmother, Jennie of Johnstown. He was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Frank “Bumper” and maternal grandparents, John and Josephine Vargo. Born March 27, 1974, in Johnstown, he was a son of Daniel and Donna Vargo Gorchesky. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Johnstown, with the Rev. Bernard Karmonocky, officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ozog’s, Broad St., Johnstown, with a prayer vigil.

Russell W. Flade, of Canton, formerly of Roaring Branch, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Valley View Nursing Home. Arrangements are being handled by Morse and Kleese’s, 40 N. Center St., Canton.
Robert A. Young Sr.
Robert A. Young Sr., 89, a Montgomery native, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at his home in Harrison, Mich. An Army veteran of World War II he was a member of American Legion Post 404. Born June 11, 1911, in Montgomery, he was a son of William and Annie Miller Young. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Thomas; four sons, Robert Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Roland of this city, Richard of Troy, Mich. and Gerald Pacquette of Holly, Mich.; four daughters, Ruth Groulx and Roberta Leta, both of this city, Carolyn Stelmach of West Branch, Mich. and Linda Ludwig of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Wilson of Hughesville; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral was held on Aug. 25. Arrangements were handled by Stocking’s, Harrison.
David William Gundrum
David William Gundrum, 60, a city native, of Pearl Boulevard, Sunset Beach, N.C., died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Loris Community Hospital. He was a Navy veteran and retired from the industrial supply business. Born Dec. 30, 1939, in this city, he was a son of Melvin and Esther Bower Gundrum. Surviving are his wife, Betsy Kelly Gundrum; two sons, David Robert and Steven Michael, both of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; two daughters, Amy Lyn in North Carolina and Wyndi Sue Gundrum-Cooper, Shallotte, N.C.; a brother, Robert of this city; and four grandchildren, Devon and Syndey Gray and Hailey and Alexis. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the family home on Pearl Boulevard, with the Rev. Robert Redman, officiating.
Marian Ann Reese
RENOVO - Marian Ann Reese, 90, of State College, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Fairways of Brookline Village. She and her husband, Charles L. Reese, observed their 59th wedding anniversary Aug. 27. She retired in 1974 as chief operator for Bell Telephone, working in its Renovo, Ardmore and Pittsburgh offices. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, State College. Born Sept. 11, 1909, in Renovo, she was a daughter of James and Emma Burke Renehan. Surviving, besides her husband, are a brother, Thomas James Renehan of State College. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Donald Boslett, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner. Arrangements are being handled by Maxwell’s, 205 Fifth St.
Jane E. Drayton
The funeral was Friday for Jane E. Drayton, 81, of 820 Broad St., Montoursville, who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at home. She and her husband, William Drayton, observed their 59th wedding anniversary Nov. 30. She was a registered nurse. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Born June 11, 1919, in Montoursville, she was a daughter of Walter A. and Rita Harding Eck. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Marjorie D. Freund of Pittsburgh and Virginia Pirmann of State College; and two brothers, James W. and Dr. John A. Eck, both of Muncy.
Grover W. Moore Sr.
The funeral will be Monday for Grover W. Moore Sr., 62, of 255 Smith Circle, Linden, who died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at home. He and his wife, the former Ruth K. Fisher, observed their 32nd wedding anniversary Oct. 20. He worked in the maintenance department of the Holiday Inn, retiring in 1991. He served in the Navy. Born Jan. 22, 1938, in this city, he was a son of Douglas and Mary Dockey Moore Sr. Surviving, besides his wife, are his mother of this city; two daughters, Kathy R. at home and Tammy S. Potemra of this city; two sons, Grover W. Jr. at home and David A. of this city; a brother, Douglas Jr. of Linden; a sister, Mary Weaver of State College; and three grandchildren, Zachery, Elizabeth and Caleb. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Lee. The service will be at 11 a.m. at Maneval’s, 500 W. Fourth St., with the Rev. Robert A. Kulzer, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m.
Margaret L. Cardone
Margaret L. Cardone, 83, of 450 Center St. died, Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 in Roseview Manor. She was a Williamsport High School graduate. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation. She was a secretary for Buff Henely for 30 years. Born Dec. 24, 1916, in this city, she was a daughter of Antonio and Maria Augustine Rizzo. Surviving are two sons, Joseph A. of this city and Lawrence D. of Altoona; a brother, Lawrence Rizzo of Waterbury, Conn.; a sister, Anna Pisparelli of Nagatcuk, Conn.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. There will be a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. The family will provide flowers. Arrangements are being handled by Sanders’, 821 Diamond St.

Kelvin O. Diltz, 71, formerly of the Hughesville area, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at 11647 Beauchamp Road, Berlin, Md. Arrangements are being handled by McCarty-Thomas’, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
Audrey Mae Linsberry
LOCK HAVEN - Audrey Mae Linsberry, 90, of 201 E. Main St. died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in the Williamsport Hospital. She retired as a teacher in the Lock Haven School District in 1973 and taught for a short time in the Mechanicsburg schools. She was a graduate of the former East Stroudsburg State College, Penn State University and East Stroudsburg High School. Born Feb. 6, 1910, in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of Charles L. and Bertha Edinger Linsberry. She is survived by two nephews. Services and burial will at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Yost-Gedon’s 121 W. Main St.
Wayland Bergerstock
MILTON - Wayland “Bergie” Bergerstock, 76, of 117 Wood St. died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at home, after a brief illness. He and his wife, the former Evelyn Catherman observed their 52nd wedding anniversary May 29. He was a truck driver for 40 years for H.H. Follmer Trucking Co., West Milton, then for Branch Motor Express Co. He was a member of Lodge 256, F&AM; the Williamsport Consistory, and Central Pennsylvania Teamsters Union Local 764, Milton. A Marine Corps. veteran of World War II, he was a member of Wallace Fetzer American Legion Post 71. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Born Sept. 19, 1923, near here, he was a son of Bertram and Etta Yost Bergerstock. Surviving, besides his wife, are a sister, Florence O’Conner of Milton; and two grandchildren, Casey L. and Kipp Starks. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Reitmeyer and Linda Starks; two brothers, Willard and Harold; and three sisters, Evelyn Snyder, Ruth Yarger and Marie Whiteknight. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cronrath’s, 308 Main St., Watsontown, with the Rev. LeRoy E.P. Reitz, officiating. A family committal service will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville. A masonic service will be at 1:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Calvin O. Diltz
The funeral will be Thursday for Calvin O. Diltz, 71, 11647 Beauchamp Road, Berlin, Md., formerly of this area, who died, Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at home after an extended illness. He retired in 1985 from the National Security Agency as an electrical engineer. He was a member of the Elks and Phoenix Group. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Born Oct. 23, 1928, in Franklin Township, he was a son of Buss and Adda Gordner Diltz. Surviving are, a companion, Betty Brokaw of Berlin; three sons, Kenneth C. of Mechanicsburg, Kevin N. of Bloomsburg and Andrew S. of Columbia, Md.; three daughters, Deborah L. Dukuette of LaGrande, Ore., Sandra L. in Florida and Katherine L. Adams of Sykesville, Md.; three sisters, Leona D. Poust of Hughesville, Dorothy M. Fraley and Janet M. Stroup, both of Muncy; and 11 grandchildren. The service will be at 11 a.m. at McCarty-Thomas’, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Charles A. Baier Jr., St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gordners Grove, Unityville, officiating. Burial will be in Gordners Cemetery, Jordan Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Lois D. Dodge
Lois D. Dodge, 82, of 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd., Cape Coral, Fla., formerly of 950 Vallamont Drive, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral. She was the widow of Clifford A. Dodge. She had been a surgical nurse and an emergency room nurse at Williamsport Hospital. She was a member of Elks Ladies Auxiliary in Florida. She was a Presbyterian. She attended Williamsport schools and was a graduate of Williamsport School of Nursing. Born Aug. 21, 1918, in this city, she was a daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Othmer Fisher. There are no survivors. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Maneval’s, 500 W. Fourth St., with the Rev. Stanley P. Hartung, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Pauline Marie Deutschle, 83, of 2 Hawthorne Court, Milton, formerly of 916 Memorial Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at home. Her husband, Robert Charles Deutschle, died March 17, 1992. She was a homemaker and retired from Shop-Vac Corp. She was a member Milton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Born March 10, 1917, in Morris Run, she was a daughter of Joseph and Cecelia Pawlak Pecynski. Surviving are a son, Gary R. of Lewisburg; a daughter Diane Kackenmeister of Duncansville; a brother, Casimer “Sam” Pecynski of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; three sisters, Charlotte Martin of Milton, Bernadine Waltz of Mansfield and Clara Pecynski of Morris Run; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Noll’s, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport, with Gregory Allison, Milton Congregation of Jehovah’s, Witnesses, officiating. Kathryn S. Fryer
Kathryn S. Fryer, 83, of Wellsboro died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Green Home. She was the widow of Elmer Slater and Linn Fryer. She was a homemaker. An World War II veteran of the Women’s Army Corps, she was a member of Disabled American Veterans and a charter member of Women in Military Service of America. She served at the Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C. Born Sept. 29, 1916, in Jasper, N.Y., she was a daughter of Ernhard and Otelia Burnside Sjostrom. Surviving are two daughters, Kathlyn Rymell and Cheryl Black, both of Tioga; two stepsons, Donald and Charles Slater, both of Preble, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis Slater Jones of LaFeria, Texas; five sisters, Lorraine Barnhart of Concord, N.C., Olive VanAllen, Urania Speciale and Helen Lucy, all of Sayre and Dorothy Cupato of Salisbury, Maine; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Sayre Christian Church, Keystone Avenue and Lincoln Street, Sayre, with the Revs. James Donahoo and Allen Hulslander, officiating. Minnie T. Nickliss
Minnie T. Nickliss, 74, of 600 Walnut St., Montoursville, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Sycamore Manor. She and her husband, Stephen J. Nickliss, observed their 49th wedding anniversary Oct. 14. She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Harrisburg and previously worked for the former L.L. Stearns and Sons. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Born April 29, 1926, in Annville, she was a daughter of Dominic and Vienna Baldori Candori. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Stephen P. of Litiz; a daughter, Jane M. Hanner of Montoursville; a brother, Marino Candori of Annville; two sisters, Margaret P. Levine and Palm Bernardo, both of Palmera; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia D. Kile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the church, 800 Mulberry St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Michael McCormick officiating. A Committal service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be no visitation.
