LEWISBURG - The funeral will be Friday for Charles Henry “Carl” Lemmerman, and his wife, Gloralie Lores “Lee” Lemmerman, who died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. She had been a resident there since Memorial Day, and formerly lived with him at 82 Fairview Drive. They had been married for 54 years, and built their home where they used to meet as Bucknell University students. They attended Bucknell; he in the engineering field, and she as an English major. He was past president and treasurer of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and a member of the Emeritus Club and Engineering Alumni. They were members of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was past vice president of the couples Sunday school class. Surviving are a son, Carl H. of Winfield; a daughter, G. Lores Morton of Honey Brook; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He retired in 1986 as president and director of marketing of Wood-Metal Industries, now Wood-Mode Industries, after nearly 40 years, and served as a retired consultant for the company. He was a member of the Brotherhood of the Protective Order of Elks Lodge 267, Sunbury, Kratzer-Dull American Legion, where he was a past commander, Loyal Order of Moose 1173 Selinsgrove, Union County Historical Society, William Cameron Engine Company and National Kitchen and Bath Association. He was also a member of The Buick Club of America and the Buggy Museum of Mifflinburg. Born Sept. 13, 1920, in New York, he was orphaned at a young age. He was also survived by a sister, Ann Meyran of Long Island, N.Y.
She had worked as assistant to the director at the physical plant at Bucknell. She enjoyed traveling and needle point. Born Jan. 30, 1924, in Nevada, Mo., she was orphaned at an early age and reared by her aunt, Muriel and John R. Falls. She is additionally survived by a daughter, Tamar Diana Wilson de Alberto in Mexico. The services will be at 11 a.m. at the church, South Third Street, with their pastor, the Rev. Scott Zimmerer, officiating. Burial will be in Lewisburg Cemetery. Friends may call at Shaw’s, Market and Eighth Streets, from 7 to 9 tonight.
Anna Faye Knauff
The service is today for Anna Faye Knauff, 96, of 829 Franklin St., who died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Manor Care South. Her husband, Paul C., died December 1971. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the New Covenant United Church of Christ. Born May 5, 1904, in Shamokin Dam, she was a daughter of Sherman and Sarah St. Clair Fisher. Surviving are a son, Paul II of Reno, Nev.; a niece and caregiver, Diane Murray of this city; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Grace Stahlnecker. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. at Twin Hills Memorial Park with the Rev. Bruce R. Druckenmiller officiating. A memorial service will be announced. Arrangements are being handled by Maneval’s, 500 W. Fourth St.
Martha M. Peters
LOCK HAVEN - Martha M. Peters, 89, of Susqueview Nursing Home, formerly of Beech Creek, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000. Her husband, George M. Peters, died in 1970. She was a clerk at W.T. Grant Store. She was a member of Beech Creek American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crafts. She was a member of Beech Creek United Methodist Church. Born Dec. 9, 1910, in Renovo, she was a daughter of Percey and Kathryn Troup Bodley. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Rae Welch of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and a sister, Kathryn Kenworthy of Renovo. She was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Bodley. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Helt Hanna Kline’s, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Burial will be in Hayes Ferron Cemetery, Beech Creek. Jane Ashley Nyssen
Jane Ashley Nyssen, 93, of Grandview Nursing Home, Danville, died Tuesday, Sept, 26, 2000, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was owner and operator of Jane’s Inn, Danville, retiring in 1986. She attended high school in Berkley, Calif. and Arizona State University. Born Jan. 26, 1907, in Rochester, N.Y., she was a daughter of George B. and Amy Post Ashley. Surviving are a son, Bruce Ashley Lane Nyssen of Danville; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Brady’s, 320 Church St., Danville.
John D. Null
John D. Null, 49, of 602 Tule St., Montoursville, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Camp Snow, Quebec, Canada, while on a hunting expedition. He and his wife, Karen M. Bamonte Null, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary Dec. 18. He was employed by Center Manufacturing and was co-owner of Liberty Coins. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Montoursville. He was a member of American Legion Post 104, Montoursville, and the Numismatic Society. A frequent blood donor, he gave more than five gallons. Born March 26, 1951, in Oneonta, N.Y., he was a son of Charles H. and Ida R. Blanchard Null. Surviving, besides his mother and wife, are a son, Justin D. at home; two daughters, Angela M., a student at Lycoming College, and Alicia R. at home; three brothers, Charles H. Jr. of Oneonta, N.Y., David G. of Cogan Station, and Robert J. of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one sister, Merry E. Null of Rome, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 800 Mulberry St., Montoursville. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. LOGANTON - Lucille L. Lamey, 80, of Loganton died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit. Her husband, Clair Lamey, died in 1989. She and her husband owned a farm in Sugar Valley for 50 years. She was a 4-H leader and band mother for Sugar Valley High School Band. She attended Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren. Born April 28, 1920, in Greene Township, she was a daughter of M. Earl and Mary Cashner Embick. Surviving are two daughters, Hilda G. Wagner and Iolene M. Snook, both of Loganton; a brother, Earl A. Embick of Loganton; a sister, Theora Smith of Loganton; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, Eastville, with the Rev. Kenneth Geisewite officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Eastville. Mary B. Heimer, 88, formerly of 2296 Wheatland Ave., died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Manor Care Health Services South, where she lived for two years. Her husband, Leonard P. Heimer, died in 1984. She was a housewife. Born March 16, 1912, in Beech Creek, she was a daughter of William and Cora Confer Burd. Surviving are four daughters, Betty English of this city, Kathaline J. Shadle of Cogan Station, Martha Louise Gilbert of Montoursville and Madeline M. Eisenhower of Rote; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Maneval’s, 500 W. Fourth St., with Sister Celine Smith, chaplain at Manor Care Health Services, officiating. Harry E. Clewell
Harry E. Clewell, 84, formerly of Clayton Avenue, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Susque View Home, Inc., Lock Haven. He and his wife, the former Mary L. Bubb, observed their 64th wedding anniversary May 2. He retired from Pickelner Oil Co. and was a 1923 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and superintendent of Sunday school. He enjoyed hockey, hunting, fishing and nature walks. Born Oct. 9, 1915, in this city, he was a son of Harry E. and Grace Thomas Clewell. Surviving, besides his wife, are three daughters, Barbara C, Ault of Flemington, Peggy J. Bressi of Lock Haven and Judy K. Good of Eugene, Ore.; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Walker’s, 231 High St., Flemington. ANTES FORT - The funeral will be Saturday for Roseali H. Krugle, 8, of Antes Fort, who died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was taken Sunday after an automobile accident on Route 44. She was in the third grade at Jersey Shore Elementary School. She was a Brownie. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore. Born June 1, 1992, in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter of Vincent and Kanda Hoffman Krugle. Surviving are her parents; a sister, April A. Hoffman, at home; a half-brother, Jeff Krugle of this city; a half-sister, Sheila Krugle of Butler; and maternal grandmother, Doris Hoffman of Avis. The service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Rearick-Carpenter’s, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with the Rev. W. Keith Rockwell officiating. Burial will be in Tombs Run Cemetery. Blaine Otis Pray
Blaine Otis Pray, 85, of Albion, Mich., formerly of Jersey Shore, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Ganton Countyside Care Center, Jackson, Mich. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Dolores Lulu Nugent, and his second wife, Irma Muniz, died in March. He worked as a chemist for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Wadsworth, Ohio, and Ponce, Puerto Rico, before retiring to Florida in 1973. He was a member of Elks Lodge 1798, the Albion Moose Lodge, and the Leisure Hour Club. He received his doctorate from Pennsylvania State University. Born April 20, 1915, in Minneapolis, Minn., he was a son of Francis E. and Minnette McCann Pray. Surviving are a daughter, Tamara Crupi of Albion; three grandchildren, Catherine, Michael, and David Crupi; and two great-grandsons, Matthew and Arthur.
Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery.
William J. Weikel
William J. Weikel, 66, of 7863 Reed Road, Galion, Ohio, formerly of Montoursville, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, after being stricken at home. He and his wife, the former Darlyn D. “Dolly” DeHart Weikel, observed their 42nd wedding anniversary July 19. He worked at Avco-Lycoming as a service representative, and owned BW Refrigeration. He was a graduate of Williamsport Technical School and attended Susquehanna Bible College, Muncy. He was an Army veteran of the Korean war. He was a member of Crossway Assembly of God, Galion. Born Dec. 17, 1933, in Perkasie, he was a son of William H. and Lottie C. Rummel Weikel. Surviving are a daughter, Wendi Bigelow of Cardington, Ohio; two brothers, Stanley C. of Richlandtown and Gerald of Hatfield; two sisters, Mary Ellen Louise Rush of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Pauline Ann Harr in South Carolina; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the church, Galion, with the Rev. Louis C. Boston, officiating. Friends may call at the church form 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Private funeral services were held today for Mary E. Danley, 86, of 215 Clarendon St., DuBoistown, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at HCR Manor Care South, where she had been a resident since Sept. 22. She was a homemaker. Her husband, George A. Danley, died Aug. 27, 1992. She was a Lutheran. Born, Feb. 2, 1914, in Milton, she was a daughter of Jacob and Hannah Yoder Miller. Surviving are a daughter, Isabelle D. Forbach of DuBoistown; a son, Frederick of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Theodore L. Cockley, pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church and chaplain for Susquehanna Regional Home Health Hospice, officiating. Arrangements were handled by Noll’s, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.

Troy Eugene Fairfax, 39, of Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Locust St., died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Gwinnet Medical Center. He lived in a group home on Memorial Ave. and attended Hope Workshop. He was a member of the Maple St. A.M.E. Zion Church. He enjoyed music and traveling. Born Jan. 8, 1961, in this city, he was the son of Ambrose W. Fairfax of Muncy, and Lydia C. Adams Fairfax-Hunter, of Lawrenceville, Ga.. Surviving are three brothers, Clifford R. of Norcross, Ga., Donald K. of Harrisburg and Sheldon A. of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four sisters, Cynthia D. Cross of Lawrenceville, Shelia D. Braggs of Newton, N.C., Stacy J. and Anjanette L., both of Duluth, Ga.; and a grandmother, Mildred R. Adams, of this city. He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Clifford and Juanita Fairfax, and maternal grandfather Richard M. Adams Sr. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today, at Allen and Redmond’s, 331 Elmira St., with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Allie J. Harper Jr., officiating. Burial will be private. James H. Hessert, 68, of Tallmadge, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at home. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 32 years. He was a Navy veteran. Born Oct. 16, 1931, in this city, he was a son of George and Elizabeth Hessert Sr. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Ann Hessert; three sons, Dave, Carl and Michael; three daughters, Linda Bittner, Annette Polen and Dawn Larson; two brothers, George Jr. and Dick; a step-brother, Fred Heilman Jr; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Margaret Pettit, 76, of 626 Court St., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Williamsport Hospital. Her husband Frederick L. Pettit Sr., died April 22, 1988. She was a homemaker. Born Dec. 8, 1923, in Trout Run, she was a daughter of Samuel and Anna Kulp Day Surviving are two sons, Frederick L. Jr. and Harold S., both of this city ; two daughters, Donna Peluso and Ruth Ann Wettlaufer, both of Trout Run; a brother, Charles W. Day of Trout Run; four sisters, Nellie Antuzzi of Elmira, N.Y., Flora Calloway of Jacksonville Fla., Bonnie Koch of Trout Run and Velma Redden of Cogan Station; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. DUSHORE-Doris “Dorie” H. Fetherbay, 75, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, in Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. Her husband, Willis “Bill” Fetherbay, died May 6, 1998. She was employed by the Dushore A&P, Dushore Silk Mill, The Rendezvous, Dolly Madison, and Eskimo Pie Corp. She was a member of the Auxiliary of Dushore American Legion Post No. 996 and the Auxiliary of New Albany Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 384. She graduated from Dushore High School. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel. Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Dushore, she was a daughter of the late David and Margaret McHenry Cook. Surviving are a daughter, Janet Bird of Jonestown; a son, William of Lancaster; a sister Pearl of Louisville, Ky.; and three grandchildren, Sean, Terry and Christie Bird. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Curtis, Clair Thomas, Carl, Douglas, Gerald, and five sisters, Martha Buffington, Bernice Farrell, Josephine Keeler, Alice Goodwin, and Kathryn Waldron. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, Dushore, with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Nilsen officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cherry Township, Dushore.
