Beverly G. Fedder, 75, of 203 1/2 S. Market St., Muncy died Oct. 3, 2000, in the Muncy Valley Hospital skilled nursing unit. She retired in 1982 after 42 years as an account supervisor for the former Koppers now Andrtiz. She was a 1944 graduate of Muncy-Muncy Creek High School. She was a member of Muncy Baptist Church. She was a member of Muncy Historical Society, Muncy Garden club and Muncy Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was a member of Lycoming Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Lycoming County Genealogical Society and Sullivan County Historical Society. Born July 15, 1925, in Muncy, she was a daughter of William A. and Clara E. Bennett Fedder. Surviving is a brother, Eugene H. of Montoursville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church, West Penn and South Market streets, Muncy, with her pastor, the Rev. D. Gene Patterson, officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The family will provide the flowers. Arrangements are being by Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
Mary P. Patkos
GALETON - The funeral will be today for Mary P. Patkos, 73, of Galeton, who died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Her husband, Jozsef Patkos, died July 15. She was employed by Galeton Production for many years. She was a member of Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church. Born Dec. 10, 1926, in Galeton, she was a daughter of Clyde and Mary Losey Platt. Surviving are two sons, Gregory of Galeton and Steve of Elmira, N.Y.; two daughters, Linda Ralph of Middlebury Center and Gayle of Galeton; a brother, Robert Platt of Galeton; three sisters, Charlotte Romaneo and Donna Messino, both of Galeton and Marjorie Haner of this city; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at Collins-Olney’s, with the Rev. David Shultz officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m.
Otto Lakner
LOCK HAVEN – Otto Lakner, 91, of 90 Allison St. died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000 in Fulmer’s Personal Care Home. He had been employed by Republic Steel, Warren, Ohio. He attended Buckwheat Normal and Lock Haven High schools. He served in the Army during World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, football and baseball. Born Aug. 8, 1909, in Mill Hall, he was a son of Oscar and Eva Hendricks Lakner. Surviving is a sister, Dorothy Hope, with whom he had lived. He was predeceased by two brothers, Rudolph and Fred, and two sisters, Regina Williamson and Esther Gebhardt. A service of remembrance will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Wetzler’s, 320 Main St., Mill Hall. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Friends may call the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Olive J. Giacolono
Olive J. Giacolono, 73, of this city, formerly of New Derry, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in Williamsport Hospital. Her husband, Joseph Giacolono, died Dec. 26, 1997. She was a member of St. Lawrence Church, South Williamsport. Born Dec. 15, 1926, in Loyalhanna, she was a daughter of Adolph and Bessie Kelley Smith. Surviving are three daughters, Johanna Waddle in North Carolina, Rose Fink of this city and Carol McGuire of Leesport; a brother, Joseph Smith of Derry; a sister, Margaret August of Shelby, Ohio; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Smith. Services will be private. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Lopatich’s, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe.
Gary Robert Lambert
Gary Robert Lambert, 54, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at his home in Sewickley. He was an area native and former resident He was a cement finisher and member of Cement Masons Union Local 526 in Pittsburgh. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war and received a medal for rifle sharpshooting. He was a member of VFW Post 3428 and the Roland Ritter Post 268 in Muncy, and transferred to posts in Sewickley. He was a member of the Piney Ridge Hunting Club. He won numerous blue ribbons in County and State Fairs with his horses. Born March 20, 1946 in Jersey Shore, he was a son of Jacob and Mable Lammerhirt Lambert Sr. Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra Lynn; two sons, Nicholas at home and Robert of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Heidi Jester of Sewickley; two brothers, Jacob Jr. of Muncy, and Richard of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren. The service will be at 10 a.m. today at Kenneth Hare’s, 500 Park Road, Ambridge, with the Rev. William Hausen, officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery, Sewickley.
John Ilniski
John Ilniski, 87, formerly of the 1600 block of Marlin Parkway died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown. His wife the, former Vera P. Doolin, was killed in a gas explosion at their home Aug. 7, 1994. He was a supervisor at Crane Full View Glass Door Co., Deerfield, Ill. He was a member of Church of the Ascension. He was a member of Sheriff’s Association of Illinois. Born Feb. 20, 1913, in this city, he was a son of Michael and Wilhelmina Kawol Ilniski. Surviving are two sons, John W. Becker of Milton and Jack Becker of Shiremanstown; four sisters, Mary Stetts and Madiline Williams, both of Linden, Helen White of this city and Nellie Cayer of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Walter of Sunny Mead, Calif. and Michael of this city; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, William L. Miller; two brothers, Stanley and Joseph; and a sister, Annie. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Sanders’, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Florence G. Uhler, 91, of York, a former city resident, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at York Lutheran Retirement Village, York. She was the widow of Dale A. Uhler. She was a retired home economics teacher with Red Lion Area School District. She was a member of York Art Association, Contact York and Widows Support Group. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School and the former Mansfield State Teachers College. She was a member of Locust Grove United Church of Christ, York. Born May 10, 1909, in this city, she was a daughter of George A. and Emma Berger Gehron. Surviving are a son, Dr. Dale G. of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Emily Swisher of York and Marie Woolf of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, William Gehron of this city; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jan F. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church, 1035 Locust Grove Road, York, with the Rev. Lee E. Zortman, officiating. D. Jean Lorimer
D. Jean Lorimer, 81, of 126 O’Neil Ave. died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000. Her husband, Clark Lorimer died Dec. 17, 1987. She retired from Rayovac in 1980. She was former treasurer of Rayovac Credit Union. She was a 1937 graduate of Montoursville High School. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Loyalsock. She enjoyed gardening and volunteer work. Born Jan. 6, 1919, in South Williamsport, she was a daughter of Fred J. and Bertha Mahaffey Moore. Surviving are three daughters, Marjorie Haines of Phoenix, Ariz., Caryll Eck of this city and Joan Dunkelberger of Montoursville; a son, Clark D. of Hughesville; a sister, Arlene Kaufman of Tempe, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred J. Moore, Jr. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church, Loyalsock, with the Rev. Jerry A. Cline, officiating. Howard D. Confer
WELLSBORO - Howard D. Confer, 63, of Harvard Street died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. He and his wife, Karen Davis Confer, observed their 41st wedding anniversary on March 14. He retired in 1997, after working for the transportation industry, and previously in the printing and mailing department at the Tioga County Courthouse. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Born Sept. 10, 1937, in Ansonia, he was a son of Harry C. and Winona Mosher Confer. Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Kelly Confer of Jersey Shore, Elaine Fish of Wellsboro; a son, Robert of Wellsboro; two brothers, Edward of Virginia and Willard of Wellsboro; four sisters, Jean Kephart of Corning, N.Y., Sally Weeks of Virginia, Brenda Bowers of Wellsboro, Marjorie “Kay” Dennis of North Pole, Alaska; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and a twin, Harold, and a sister, Juanita Bear. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church, Pearl Street, with Father Gregory P. Hinton officiating. Burial will be at the columbarium at the church. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main St.
Hilda V. Wian
Hilda V. Wian, 84, formerly of Federal Avenue, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2000, in the Williamsport Home. She attended St. John’s United Methodist Church. She was a waitress for more than 50 years, at the former Milo’s Restaurant, Howard Johnson’s and retired from the former Mister Donut, Newberry. Born March 13, 1916, in this city, she was a daughter of John and Sarah Johnsonbaugh Wian. Surviving are a daughter, Frances E. Wertz of Montoursville; a son Robert A. of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Theodore of Voorhees, N.J.; a sister, Margaret Hoffman of Mill Hall; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ardis, Williard and Hassell, and a sister, Vera Stover. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sanders’, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. John R. Shafer, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

JERSEY SHORE - Franklin R. Burger, 87, of 124 Corning Ave. died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at home. His wife, the former Blanche R. Conway died in June of 1980. He was a retired tool and die maker at the former Williamsport Die Machine Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Born Jan. 19, 1913, in Jersey Shore, he was a son of John and Catherine Burger. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Patricia R. Rogers of Jersey Shore; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Welker’s, 125 N. Main St., with Frank Rogers, officiating. There will be no public visitation.
Violet F. Hill
Violet F. Hill, 90, a resident of the Muncy Valley Hospital skilled nursing unit, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000. Her husband, Leonard C. Hill, died Oct. 23, 1945. She retired as records officer at the State Correctional Institution, Muncy, after 25 years. She was a graduate of Muncy High School. A member of Christ United Methodist Church, she served as treasurer for six years. She was involved with the Christian Women’s Organizations in the area. She was a former member of Hughesville and Muncy Professional Women and the Laugh-a-Lot card club. Born Dec. 23, 1909, in Muncy Creek Township, she was a daughter of Edward Franklin and Sallie Frances Arthur Gundrum. Surviving are a son Edward C. of Spring Grove; a daughter, Connie H. Springman of Pennsdale; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert J., and a daughter, Doris H. “Dorie” Myers. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church, 148 S. Main St., Hughesville, with her pastor, the Rev. Ralph M. Hibbs and the Rev. Arthur E. Gladfelter, former pastor, officiating. Judy A. Houser, 59, of 210 Maynard St. died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, in Williamsport Hospital after a brief illness. She was a personal care aide for Staff Builders Home Health Service. She was a Catholic. She enjoyed reading, jig saw puzzles and needle point. Born April 2, 1941, in South Valley, Minn., she was a daughter of Boyd D. and Natalie Harrington Nash Jr. Surviving are a son, Henry H. Jr. of Peckville; a sister, Mary White of Portland Ore; two grandchildren, Curry Ann and Henry Ryan; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Fosum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Annunciation Catholic Church, Fourth and Walnut streets, with the Rev. Nicholas E. Nnabuaku, as celebrant. JERSEY SHORE - Martha Mae Richardson, 78, of 523 Canoe Run Road died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000, at Manor Care Health Center. Her husband, Glen L. Richardson, died in 1978. She retired from Sharwell Manufacturing. She was a member of Larrys Creek Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, Order of Amaranth and Ivanhoe Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 28. Born April 20, 1922, in Cogan Station, she was a daughter of Walter E. and Mabel Marshall Paulhamus. Surviving are a companion, George P. Missimer; a son Lee Marden of Valley Head, Ala.; a brother, Charles L. Paulhamus of Sacramento, Calif.; three half brothers, Paul and Craig Paulhamus, both of Cogan Station and David Paulhamus of Jersey Shore; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
