MUNCY - Charlotte Mae Hall, 68, of 528 Reuben Kehrer Road died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at home following an extended illness. She and her husband, Francis E. Hall, observed their 50th wedding anniversary May 13. She was retired from Glamorise Inc. following 42 years of service. Born May 19, 1932, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of George and Mary Guisewhite Applegate. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Francis Eugene Jr. of Linden; three brothers, Ralph Applegate of Cogan Station, Robert Applegate of this city and George Applegate of Muncy; two sisters, Mary Fulkrod of this city and Clara Winder of Linden; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Applegate. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sanders’, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Ruth M. Romberger of Heshbon Park United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery RR 2. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Beatrice A. Heaps
RENOVO - Beatrice A. Heaps, 85, a resident of the Bucktail Medical Center extended care unit, died there Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000. She was a member of North Bend United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Born April 28, 1915, in North Bend, she was a daughter of LeRoy and Elizabeth Ammeter Heaps. Surviving are two brothers, William of North Bend and John of Mansfield; a sister, Dorothy Miller, a resident of Susqueview Home in Lock Haven; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick, LeRoy and Ronald, and a sister, Isabelle Gilroy. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Maxwell’s, 205 Fifth St., with the Rev. John Godissart officiating. Burial will be in North Bend Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.

Earl Lattimer
CANTON - Harry Earl Lattimer, 63, of this borough, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at home. Born Dec. 18, 1936, in Barton, N.Y., he was a son of George and Eliza Johnson Lattimer. He and his wife, the former Sharon Doughty, observed their 35th wedding anniversary Nov. 27. Retiring in 1981, he was employed for many years by Boeing Aircraft as a machinist. He attended Barton and Waverly School Districts. He was a member of Red Run Rod and Gun Club, Ralston. He was an avid camper and enjoyed traveling. Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, Harry of Grover, Glenn of Blossburg and Eugene of Canton; two daughters, Mary Sherman of Canton and Michelle Fernandez of Hotsprings, Ark.; a brother, George of Sayre; three sisters, Hattie Schrader of Athens, Mae Grover of Chemung, N.Y. and Marjorie Brown of Wellington, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Wilson; four brothers, Wilbur, Carl, Earl and Hiram; an infant sister, Ellen; and three sisters, Shirley Charles, Anna Brown and Myrtle Comstock. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pepper’s, Springbrook Drive, Canton, with the Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Burial will be in East Canton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.

Melvin L. Schlauch
Melvin L. “Bud” Schlauch, 79, of 108 Bella Vista Drive, Fairfield Township, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at home following an extended illness.He and his wife, the former Carmella Perseo, observed their 16th wedding anniversary Nov. 19. He was a retired mineralogist at Penn State University and worked as a watch repairman. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Born Sept. 7, 1921, in Philadelphia, he was a son of Melvin L. and Ora Fritchle Schlauch Sr. Surviving, besides his wife, are two sisters, Jean Schick of Montoursville and Peg Broughton of Hopewell, Va. The funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.

Lewis N. Wilbur
TIOGA - Lewis “Jack” N. Wilbur, 71, of this borough died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. He and his wife, the former Wanda M. Cummings, observed their 52nd wedding anniversary March 12. He was a retired self-employed truck driver and former employee of Corning Glass Works, Corning, N.Y. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and Herbert Lee Webster American Legion Post 235, Tioga. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and storyteller. Born May 2, 1929, in Middlebury, he was a son of Lawrence R. and Annettie Jane Niles Wilbur Sr. Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, James of Millerton, Stephen of Gaston, S.C. and Kevin of Tioga; three daughters, Konny Stafford of Tioga, Carol Gilg of Brackney and Sherrie McIntosh of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Aaron of Holiday; six sisters, Zelma Behanna of Rivesville, W. Va., Alverda (Sally) Alexander of Wellsboro, Verna (Polly) Gerhart of Hubert, N.C., Arlene Hamblin of Holiday, Beryl Sawyer and Bonnie Hamblin, both of Wellsboro; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Neil, Lawrence Jr. and Donald Wilbur. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, with the Rev. Laurie Greenlaw officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Lenna M. Moore
LITTLE MARSH - Lenna M. Moore, 79, of this borough died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in the Green Home, Wellsboro. Her husband, Ernest R. Moore, died August 22, 1998. She was a former employee of the Osceola Big M. She was a member of the Little Marsh United Methodist Church. She served on the Middlebury Union Cemetery and Little Marsh election boards. She was a member of Elnora Rebekah Lodge 28, Keeneyville. Born Nov. 25, 1921, in Chatham Township, she was a daughter of Denzel and Eleanor Short Davis. Surviving are two sons, Denzel of Campbell, N.Y. and Richard of Osceola; a daughter, Sonja McLean of Elkland; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Fonda “Susie” Sherman, Aug. 1999. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main St., Wellsboro, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Kitzmiller officiating. Burial will be in Middlebury Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The lodge will conduct a service at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Eva P. Pleasant
Eva P. Pleasant, 74, of 659 Beeber St. died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Williamsport Hospital following a brief illness. Her husband, Oscar W. Pleasant, died April 2, 1977. Retiring in 1990, she was employed for 15 years by Wundies. Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Shamokin, she was a daughter of Vesta Loudenslager. Surviving are three sons, Lewis W. Long II, with whom she lived, and Kevin B. Long and Richard K. Pleasant, both of this city; a daughter, Janeane L. Long of Linden; a stepson, John L. Pleasant of this city; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Green Lawn Memorial Park, Routes 15 & 54, Montgomery RR 2, with Pastor M. Joyce Gensib of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Leah B. Dickey
MILL HALL - Leah B. Dickey, 59, of 15 Palmer Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at home. She and her husband, Larry G. Dickey, observed their 30th wedding anniversary April 18. She had been a caregiver to the late Judge & Mrs. A.H. Lipez for 27 years and previously worked at Pine Haven. She was a member of Beech Creek Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed going to yard sales, travelling and camping. Born Feb. 18, 1941, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Samantha Williams Buchanan. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Larry G. Jr. of Lock Haven; four daughters, Karen Henry of Loganton, Irene Overdorf of Blanchard, Melissa Rossman of Lock Haven, and Cheryl Hartman of Salona; one step-son, Charles Sr. of Mill Hall; one brother, James P. Buchanan of Bellefonte; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wetzler’s, 320 Main St., with the Revs. Alan S. Eckenroad and John Confer officiating. Burial will be in Church of Christ Cemetery, Blanchard. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Friday.

E. Margaret Krupcznski
E. Margaret Krupcznski, 83, of 48 Gambee Road, Geneva, N.Y., formerly of this city, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. While a long-time resident of Williamsport, she was a member of Pine Street Methodist Church and was active in the Women’s Republican Club. Born July 31, 1917, in Geneva, she was a daughter of William J. and Estella Bartholemew Habberfield. Surviving are a special friend, Roy Whitaker of Geneva; two sons, Robert Bergman of Muncy and Richard Bergman of Geneva; two daughters, Delores Bergman Davis of Penn Yan, N.Y. and Joan Bergman of Camp Hill; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman J., in 1998. The funeral was Monday, Dec. 4, in First United Methodist Church, Penn Yan, N.Y. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan.

Dorothy E. Raub
DUSHORE - Dorothy Elizabeth Raub, 78, of this borough died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Her husband, Wilbur Raub, died March 10, 1998. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel. She was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the first graduating class at Turnpike High School. She was a member of the Trinity Chapel Gleaner Society, the Trinity Chorus and the Altar Guild. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking and latch hook. Born April 6, 1922, in Mildred, she was a daughter of Henry S. and Anna Radka Hembury. Surviving are four daughters, Amy Funk of Doylestown, Cynthia Casto of Laporte, Beth Williams of Nicholson and Lois Ruhl of Muncy Valley; two sisters, Lois Hembury and Marie Wheeler; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church, here, with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Nielsen officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Cherry Township. Friends may call at McHenry’s, 119 Carpenter St., from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Mary A. Staub
WELLSBORO - Mary A. Staub, 92, a resident of Broad Acres Nursing Home, formerly of the Avis-Jersey Shore area, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000 at the home. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Avis United Methodist Church. Born Feb. 5, 1908, she was a daughter of George and Irene Fox. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Allen of Youngstown, Ohio; a sister, Leona Truckenmiller of Williamsport; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen, one month ago. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wildwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Woodring officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter’s, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.

Marcus O. Parramoure
Marcus O. Parramoure, 79, of 341 Sherwood Ave., South Williamsport, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Williamsport Hospital. He and his wife, the former Ann M. Gilson, were married 15 years. He was an electrician for 42 years with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local 915, Tampa, Fla. He was a master mason for 50 years and a member of Tampa F&AM Community Lodge 292. Born May 30, 1921, in Plant City, Fla., he was a son of Hugh and Cora Singletary Parramoure. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Marcus O. Jr. of Altamonte Springs, Fla. The funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family and take place in Florida. Local arrangements are being handled by Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St.

Marian E. Wells
MANSFIELD - Marian E. Wells, 79, of this borough and Haines City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Winter Haven, Fla. She was a bookkeeper for Mansfield Penny Saver for many years. She was a former member of the Canoe Camp Church of Christ. Born March 16, 1921, in Mansfield, she was a daughter of Liston and Irene L. Smith Stickler. Surviving are her husband, Francis D. Wells; a son, Samuel D. of Lockwood, N.Y.; three daughters, Brenda Phillips of Kansas City, Kan., Deborah Jeffories of Lakeland, Fla. and Becky Holly of Troy; a brother, Bryon Strickler of Asheboro, N.C.; a sister, Donna Cole of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Scureman’s, 130 S. Main St., Mansfield, with the Rev. Kirk D. Smethers officiating. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston Township. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.

Marian J. Lee
Marian J. Lee, 78, of 1535 17th Court Southwest, Vero Beech, Fla., mother and sister of several area residents, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000. Her husband, Edward O. died Feb. 18, 1991. She was a graduate of Estella High School. She enjoyed garage sales. Born Aug. 16, 1922, in Sonestown, she was a daughter of Harvey and Gertrude Boatman Allen. Surviving are two sons, Kenny E. of Bolton, Conn. and Steve V. of Red Oak, Va.; two daughters, Connie B. Hoover of Montgomery and Penny L. Summers of Vero Beech; three brothers, William, Gary and Raymond Allen all of Muncy; three sisters, Edith Hess and Doris Allen, both of Muncy and Jean Boatman of Hughesville; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Warren and Lynwood Allen; a sister, Shirley Nuss; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, with the Rev. D. Gene Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Ruth E. Bettenmiller
WELLSBORO - Ruth E. Bettenmiller, 79, Wellsboro, R.D.6, died Dec. 8, 2000, in Highlands Nursing Home. She was the widow of Roy T. Bettenmiller. She was a housewife. Born Jan. 18, 1921, in Hillard, Fla., she was adaughter of John and Hazel Campbell Turkelson. There are no survivors. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tussey-Mosher’s, with the Rev. John McNassor officiating. Burial will be in Ansonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

James F. Dibble
WELLSBORO - James F. Dibble, 72, of Park Hill Manor, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Nellie J. White, whom he married Oct., 1957, at Wellsboro Junction. He was a retired dairy farmer and lumberman. Born Dec. 3, 1928, in Troupsburg, N.Y., he was a son of Fred and Emma L. Hallett Dibble. Surviving besides his wife are, a brother, John of Dansville, N.Y.; and a sister Beverly Manning of Genesee. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tussey-Mosher’s, 139 Main St.,with the Rev. Dr. Robert Greer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to the time of service. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens.
