Gertrude E. Aumick
Gertrude E. Aumick, 88, of RR 1 Covington, died Saturday, March 31, at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro. Born May 16, 1912 in Jackson Twp., she was a daughter of Henry and Etta Barrett Friends. Her husband Donald preceded her death in 1967. She and her late husband operated their family farm. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Henry and Barbara Garrison of Millerton and William and Karen Aumick of Williamsport; two daughters and son-in-laws, Vera and Harold Crawford of Mansfield and Loretta and Edward Korzon of Beacon Falls, Conn.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in State Road Cemetery. Contributions can be made to: Canoe Camp Church of Christ, 1104 South Main St., Mansfield, 16933. Arrangements are being handled by Scureman Funeral Home, 130 South Main St., Mansfield.

Marjorie B. Clark
Marjorie B. Clark, 92, of Canton, died, March 30, 2001. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Albert; son James; daughter Ann McGraw; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, and a brother. Private services will be held Monday at the Pepper Funeral Home, Canton. Burial will be held in the Beech Flats Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Canton Green Free Library or the Western Alliance Ambulance Assoc.

Marie T. Kiessling
Marie T. Kiessling, 62, of 4893 Pleasant Valley Rd., Cogan Station, died Friday, March 30, at home. Born Dec. 13, 1938 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Ambrose and Clara Luxenburger Gerber. She was a member and Eucumentical Minister at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and visited the homebound. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed playing cards. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and had earned an Assoc. Degree in Information Systems from Penn College of Technology. She was formerly employed as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a special ed teacher’s aid for Williamsport School District. Her husband, Leroy Kiessling preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1989. Surviving are a son, Michael A. Kiessling, Montoursville; three daughters, Teresa L. Keating, Great Lakes, IL, Janet M. Kiessling, Virginia Beach, VA, and Kristin A. Kiessling, at home; a granddaughter, Meghan Marie Keating; her mother, Clara M. Gerber, Williamsport; seven brothers, Daniel, South Williamsport, Paul and Joseph both of Williamsport, Michael, Bellefonte, Ramon, Lansdale, Larry, Montoursville, and Jerry, Rockville; and three sisters, Christina Weitlich, Cogan Station, Carla Szybist and Alice Hirschle, both of Williamsport. She was preceded in death be a brother, Charles J. Gerber. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10 a.m. in the church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, with her pastor, Rev. Francis Pauselli officiating. Friends may call at Crouse’s, 133 E. Third St. Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

Janet L. Miller
Mrs. Janet L. Miller, 72, 19 Penn Street, Montgomery, PA, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Muncy Valley Hospital. Born November 30, 1928 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of Kenneth McQuay and Thelma Romic Flick. She graduated from Montgomery Clinton High School in 1947 and was active in class socials since graduation. She enjoyed keeping busy and working for the community. She had been a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a former member of MAPAC and had served several terms on the board of Directors for Montgomery Alumni Association. She had been the chairwoman for the Montgomery Centennial Celebration in 1987. She served as president of the Montgomery Borough Planning Commission since 1987. She served on the Board of Elections for 14 years. Mrs. Miller retired from Sears, at the Lycoming Mall and previously worked for 17 years at the Former Montgomery Mills until its closing. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Ned F. Miller; two sons, Franklin C., Allenwood, PA, and Dennis E., Montgomery, PA; a daughter, Norma Jean Schaack, Albion, PA; a daughter by choice, Paula Schwenk, Pennsdale, PA; a brother, John N. Flick, Soudertown, PA; a sister, Yvonne M. Sauers, Lenor City, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Stephanie Saul, Erie, PA, Stacy Garlick, Meadville, PA and Denise R. Miller, Montgomery, PA; five great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to: Joslin Diabetic Clinic, 15 Joslin Road, Boston, Mass., 02215. Arrangements by Noll’s, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport, PA.

Donald L. Overdorf
Donald L. Overdorf, 77, of 622 Indian Rd., Clearfield, PA, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Mount Laurel Nursing Center in Clearfield. He had been a resident of Clearfield for 40 years. He was born December 24, 1923 in Nippenose Valley, Lycoming County, a son of Addison and Minnie Bower Overdorf. He was married to the former Mabel Ellen Moyer on June 22, 1941 and she survives. He was a World War II Air Force Veteran and was a conductor for the former NY Central Railroad for 42 years. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Wolf Run. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0006 Clearfield and was the former local chairman of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen of Jersey Shore. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and the outdoors. Besides his wife of nearly 60 years, he is survived by three daughters, Betty J. Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Donna E. Orndorf of Polly’s Island, SC, Diane M. Overdorf of Binghamton, NY; two brothers, Elmer of Williamsport and Glenn of Jersey Shore; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsi Collister and Hazel Quiggle. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with his Pastor Rev. Dr. Dwane White officiating. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon till 1 p.m. His family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to either: the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, RR2 Clearfield, Pa, 16830, or the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 71 North Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa, 18701.

Timothy A. Stugart
Timothy A. Stugart, 39, of 430 Wyoming St., Williamsport, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Williamsport Hospital following an extended illness. Born April 20, 1961 in Williamsport, he was the son of Harry E. and Marjorie A. Sperry Stugart of Cogan Station. Surviving in addition to his parents are a daughter, Jennifer Marie Stugart of Williamsport; two brothers, Harry E. Jr. of Butler and Paul Joseph of Pittsburgh; 3 sisters, Kathern Reeder of South Williamsport, Barbara Reed of Cogan Station, and Judy L. Harrington of Williamsport. The funeral will be Monday, 2 p.m. at Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with the Rev. Wayne L. Hepler officiating. Burial will be in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Sunday, 7-9 p.m.

James N. Connor
James N. Connor, 67, 152 Mill St., Mill Hall, died March 31, 2001 at Williamsport Hospital. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Ellen Yearick; 1 son, Greg J. Connor, Mill Hall; 1 daughter, Mrs. Kimberly Connor-Kraft, New York, NY; 1 sister, Joanne McIlhattan, Jeanette, PA; 4 grandchildren. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a grad. of P.S.U. in 1957 with a B.S. in Animal Husbandry. A farmer, he was active in many local farm organizations & was one of the founders of the Clinton CO. Fair Assoc. & was a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Assoc.Mem. Services will be held Sat., April 7, 2001 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Route 64, Mill Hall. Visitation from noon-2 p.m. Sat. at the Church.Arrangements by Wetzler Funeral Home, Mill Hall, PA.

Anne H. Snyder
Anne H. Snyder, 76, RR 2, Mill Hall, died March 31, 2001, at Williamsport Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Snyder; 2 sons, Michael D. Snyder, Jersey Shore, Charles W. Snyder, Jr., Mill Hall; a sister, Elsie Ivicic, Detroit, MI; 2 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Mill Hall, PA. Arrangements by Wetzler Funeral Home, Mill Hall PA.

Dolores J. Alexander
Dolores J. "Dolly" Alexander, 69, of 717 Market St., died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at home.Arrangements are being handled by Crouse's, 133 East Third St. The family will provide the flowers.

Ronald P. Haberstroh
Ronald P. Haberstroh, 55, of Danville, but formerly of Sch. Haven area died Friday, March 30, 2001 at Danville State Hospital, Danville.Born in Chealsea, Mass. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1945, he was a son of the late Jacques and June Patten Haberstroh, who survives him, of Montoursville. He retired as a State Police Trooper at Pennsylvania State Police.He was the husband of Linda Haberstroh, to whom he was married to for 21 years. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Summit Station. He was a life member of Melley Memorial Lodge 65 Fraternal Order of Police and American Association of State Troopers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother; three sons, Patrick of Newark, Del., Scott of Schuylkill Haven, and James; three daughters, Tami Brown of Schuylkill Haven, Jamie Crowe of Pine Grove, and Kimberlee Cipriani of Williamsport; a brother, Gary of Sandy Hook, NJ; a sister, Jacqueline Mace of Williamsport; and 10 grandchildren.A celebration of life at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Frederick Fisher officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The family requests donations be sent to Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 1185 Summerhill Road, Sch. Haven, PA 17972. Arrangements are being handled by Ebling Funeral Home.

Mary Alma Pentz
Mary Alma Pentz, 81, a resident of Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit for the past year, died there, Saturday, March 31, 2001. Born Nov. 15, 1919, in Montgomery, she was a daughter of William H. and Mabel Fry Bartlett. She was a graduate of Montgomery High School. She was a former member of the St. John Lutheran (Brick) Church of Montgomery and baptized into its Cradle Roll Dec. 1919. She was employed at the former Philco Manufacturing in Watsontown. She enjoyed painting and word puzzles. Survivors include a son, Rodney C. Pentz of Watsontown; three daughters, Carol L. Parker of Williamsport, Donna L. Stackhouse of Benton, and Patricia A. Doebler of Muncy; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; and 6 step great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Wallis-Grenoble's, 121 South Main St., Muncy, with her nephew the Rev. James Pentz, pastor of New Covenant Assembly of God Church, Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran (Brick) Church Cemetery, Montgomery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Kathryn Brooke Latini
Kathryn Brooke Latini, 17, Williamsport, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Williamsport. The daughter of James J. Latini, Trout Run, and Melisse A. Rougeux Latini, St. Petersburg, FL., she was born January 12, 1984 at Virginia Beach, VA. Surviving in addition to her parents are her sister, Annelise Carolyn Latini, a PSU student, State College, and her brother, Gabriel Ryan Latini, at home. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, James E. Rougeux, city; paternal grandfather, Orlando P. Latini, Athens; a paternal great grandmother, Elsie M. Thomas, Chemung, NY. Aunts and uncles on her maternal side include Gary and Suzanne Pearson and Robert and Janine Noll, city, and Michael and Carolyn Edwards, Stockertown. Paternal aunts and uncles include Vincent, Thomas and Jeffrey Latini, Athens; Steve and Lisa Alexander, Sayre; and Greg and Martha Shuman, Rome; and 13 cousins. A junior at WAHS, Kathryn was a member of the girls varsity soccer team, Class Executive Board, and performed at the Community Theatre. At Montoursville High School, she was a member of the soccer and track teams, and was active in the Student Government. She loved music, creative writing, and competitive horseback riding, placing 3rd at the 4-H State Finals. Kathryn worked at the Bath Shoppe and several riding stables. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 5, from 6-9 p.m. in the Lounge at the Saint Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at the church on Friday. Msgr. Stephen D. McGough will be the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn B. Latini Literary Scholarship Fund, to be established in her honor in care of the Williamsport High School, 2990 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA 17701. Contributions may also be made to the Lycoming County 4-H Scholarship Fund in memory of Kathryn B. Latini, Penn State Extension Office, Suite 206, 542 County Farm Road, Montoursville, PA 17754. Arrangements by Noll, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.

Kathryn A. Smith
Kathryn A. Smith, 84, of Williamsport, formerly of Athens, passed away Monday, April 2, 2001, at Manor Care Health Services after an extended illness. Born March 19, 1917 in Athens, she was the daughter of Charles & Carrie Morse Smith. Her husband, Kenneth W. Smith died in 1991. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her daughter and grandchildren. She was employed by the Robert Packer Hospital for many years where she retired. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy & Robert Walker of Hughesville; 2 stepsons, Eugene & Donald Smith; grandchildren, Amie & Matthew Cavarra of Denver, Colo., Eric Walker of Philadelphia; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Smith. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 2 p.m. at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, 225 S. Main St., Athens, with Rev. Ralph Hibbs officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the Manor Care Health Services activity fund, 300 Leader Drive, Williamsport, PA 17737.

Travis T. Sullivan
Travis T. Sullivan, 62, of Glendora, CA, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2001. Arrangements are being handled by Carleton's, Wellsboro.

Shawn Rian Chapman
Shawn Rian Chapman, 32, of Youngstown, Ohio, died Sunday, April 1, 2001 at home. Born Aug. 6, 1968 in Williamsport, he was the son of Chester & Janice Scheesley Hill Jr. He and his wife, the former Lisa Ann Seman, celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary June 30. He worked as a mason laborer for C. Tucker Cope & Associates. Surviving, besides his wife and parents, are a daughter, Harley Ann; 2 sons, John & David, all at home; 5 brothers, Chester Hill III, Harry Hill and Robert Hill, all of Williamsport, Giovanni and John Roberts, both of Youngstown, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Ohio, (330) 755-2111. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Rae Cupp
Rae Cupp, 80, of 1438 W. 4th St., Williamsport, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Hillside Assisted Living, where she had lived since January. Her husband, Henry Cupp, died in 1986. Born April 16, 1920 in DuBoistown, she was the daughter of Charles E. & Laura F. Zuber Gross. She retired in 1982 from the South Williamsport School District where she managed the Nisbet Elementary School Cafeteria for 23 years. Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Pennie & Jim Vanderlin of this city; 2 grandchildren, Jennilee & Taylor Vanderlin; 2 brothers, Marvin & Ron Gross; and 2 sisters, Muriel Passuello & Lolita Childs. The funeral will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The family will provide the flowers. Crouse's Funeral Home.
