Annie Marie Renner, 75, of 1012 Nicely Avenue, Montoursville died April 5, 2001, at her residence. Born August 2, 1925, in Jackson, Missouri, the daughter of Theodore and Rose Ann Grindstaff Green. She was the widow of Albert H. Renner who died September 14, 1995. Mrs. Renner was an Outstanding Montoursville Lioness as a member of the 14 G District and she was a member of several area bowling leagues. Surviving are a son, Alan D. Renner and his wife, Joenette; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Samantha Renner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Theodore L. Cockley, officiating. Interment will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

Johanna J. VanderHiel, 91, of Mansfield, PA, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at home. Survivors include her son, Rev. Rudolph VanderHiel of Mansfield. Elwood H. George
Elwood H. George (Woody), of Hughesville, born on September 26, 1921, walked into the sunset with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 4, 2001, at the age of 79. His family surrounded him in his home as he made this peaceful and joyous journey after battling cancer for almost two years. Survived by his wife, the former Dorothy J. Armstrong, Woody and Dot would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2001. Also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gary L. (Nancy) Houseknecht of Muncy, Mrs. John W. (Linda) Sprout, II, of Picture Rocks, four granddaughters, Mrs. Michael L. (Tracy) Lunger of Lairdsville, Ms. Jennifer L. Sprout of Bloomsburg, Mrs. Matthew L. (Leslie) Heiney of Muncy, and Ms. Amanda L. Sprout, a junior at East Stroudsburg University. A first great grandchild is on the way. Woody was the son of Harold E. and Hazel Flick George. He has three sisters surviving, Mrs. Myra Boyer of Unityville, Mrs. Helen Ritchie of Muncy and Mrs. Sylvia "Dolly" Becker of Penn Valley, California. He is predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Paul and Harold, Jr. Woody served in the U.S. Army from September 3, 1942 to October 26th, 1945 in the 87th, Battery D, 505th Anti Aircraft Artillery battalion. His tour of duty took him to Glasgow, Scotland, North Africa, Liverpool, England, Naples, Italy, Ajjoccio, Corsica, Bastia, Marseilles, France and Manheim, Germany. Woody's tour of duty included manning his anti-aircraft guns, training in infantry, loading 5-50 gallon oil drums at a refinery in southern France to feeding prisoners who were exchanged through Switzerland in a small town in northern France. Woody was an active member of the Hughesville Baptist Church since 1949 and served his Lord there in many capacities such as M.V. Men's Association, deacon, trustee, Sunday School teacher and many other positions the Lord led him to. He was instrumental in starting the Muncy Valley Softball League and later an umpire league with his friend Ron Montgomery. He also started the Muncy Valley Church Bowling League and played with the "Hughesville Travelers" ball team. Woody's one passion was prison ministries where he served the Lord and spread his word for 17 years. Another passion was Habitat for Humanity and being a witness and helper at "Son-Light House." After 42 years and 10 months, Woody retired from Schnadig Corp., (International Furniture), Montoursville, PA. A memorial service will be held at the Hughesville Baptist Church on April 6, 2001 at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives may visit with the family before the service from 12 to 1 p.m. The family will provide the flowers. Rev. LeRoy Joiner Jr.
Rev. LeRoy Joiner, Jr., 57, of 1107 Chester St., died Wed., April 4, 2001, at his home. He and his wife, the former JoAnn H. Harden, observed their 24th wedding anniversary on March 30th. He was Pastor of the World Christian Outreach Church, a United Churches Volunteer and an Army veteran of Vietnam. Born in Georgia on December 6, 1943, a son of LeRoy and Carrie Bell Walker Joiner. Surviving are his wife; sons, Eric Harris and Sherman Harden of Williamsport, Elijah, Timothy and LeRoy III all at home; daughters, Margaret Harden of Philadelphia, JoAnna and Angie Joiner both at home; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral service Monday, April 9, 10 a.m. at Salem AME Zion Church, 1700 Memorial Ave., with Rev. Joe Walker, his brother, officiating. Visitation 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Trent William Bilbay, infant son of William Crist Bilbay & Tina Marie Giordano, of South Williamsport, was born April 4, 2001, and died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Angelo J. Giordano of South Williamsport; maternal grandparents, Frank J. Giordano of Williamsport and Shirley I. Giordano of South Williamsport; paternal grandparents, Charles T. & Wanda Bilbay of Durant, Okla.; paternal grandmother, Carol A. Steele of Williamsport; paternal great grandfather, William Steele of Williamsport; and an uncle & aunt, Michael J. & Amy B. Giordano of Susquehanna.
Funeral arrangements are private at the family's request and are being handled by Noll's, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.
Henry E. Confer
Henry E. "Tony" Confer, 80, of 2321 Fox St., Williamsport, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in ManorCare Health Systems South. He and his wife, the former Edna M. Hartman, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 3.
Born March 22, 1921 in Williamsport, he was a son of John and Olive Lowmiller Confer. An Army veteran of World War II, Tony was a member of LeRoy Buck Post 7863, VFW, Duboistown. He had been employed by Armour Leather Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife aea daughter, Peggy Welch of city; a grandson Steven Welch; two grandchildren, Lisa and Steven Welch; and a sister, Arlene Hill. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, William and Catherine and a son Edward Dale.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with Pastor Ronald D. Savits of Newberry Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Green lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Pauline A. Osman
Pauline A. Osman of 468 N. 9th St. Sunbury, died at Sunbury Community Hospital, April 5, 2000 at 12:40 p.m. She was 87 yrs. old born in Sunbury on Oct. 30, 1913, the daughter of the late Walter E. & Nettie Mae Sieler Haas. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Sunbury. She was a seamstress all her life being self-employed, working as an instructor for Sunbury High School and at one time for HD Bobb Co. & Nite-Kraft Co. of Sunbury. She was a homebody an loved her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, painting, crafts, camping and CB'ing.
Her husband Lawrence H. Osman preceded her in death 6-21-1989. Surviving Sons, Donald R. & Joyce E. of Muncy, Pa., Frederick H. & Joyce K. of Sunbury and James K. and Emma Jean of Hummels Wharf, Pa. Daughter-in-law Gertrude E. of Sunbury, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren & 1 great great granddaughter. Brother Frederick S. Haas of Webster, N.Y. 10 nieces & nephews.
Her son Larry W. preceded her in death 8-16-94 and 2 brothers Allen E. and Paul E.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 10, 2001 at 11 a.m. at David Zweier Funeral Home, Inc. Rev. Louise Williams, her pastor will officiate. Burial will be at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Robert J. Rogers
Robert J. Rogers, 81, of 1709 Becht Road, Williamsport, died Friday, April 6, 2001 at home. He was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Cleveland, OH, a son of George and Mary Slavin Rogers. Bob was predeceased by 16 siblings.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific theatre. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for over 32 years. Memberships included White Deer Golf Course and Antler's Country Club.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Elaine Bower; a daughter, Cinde Hippenstiel of Bloomsburg; a son, Joel Rogers of Selinsgrove; and three grandchildren, Jason Hippenstiel, Jessica Rogers and Jamie Helmer.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no services.

Jo-Ann Wilkinson, 85, of 23 South Market Street, Muncy died April 6, 2001 at her residence. Born August 2, 1915 in Dubois, PA she was a daughter of Emerson James and Flo Stitler Johnston. She was a widow of Lester A. Wilkinson who died September 22, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Michael McCarter and his wife, Dianne of Montoursville; a stepson, David W. Wilkinson of Newark, Delaware; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Suzanne J. Andres who died in June 1998 and a sister Sara June Graham.
There will be a private funeral service at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will provide flowers and suggests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, Northeastern PA District, 1704 Warren Ave. Williamsport, PA 17701. Mrs. Kathryn H. Harsch
Mrs. Kathryn H. Harsch, 83, of 287 Youngs Road, Linden, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at her home. She was born June 29, 1917, in South Williamsport, a daughter of Romain and Anna Blank Steinbacher.
Mrs. Harsch graduated from South Williamsport High School and was a member of the Church of the Ascension. She and her husband of 60 years, Clarence V. "Mike" Harsch, owned and operated the Skylite Motel in Linden.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane M. and Richard Rupert of city; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael L. and Kay Harsch of Linden, and Ronald R. and Jane Harsch of New Windsor, N.Y.; a sister, Florence Haines of Melbourne, FL; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Harsch was predeceased by a sister, Anna Whipple.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in Church of the Ascension, 2101 Linn St., with the Rev. Charles J. Cummings officiating. Burial will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Vigil Service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
