Louis Ordway Smithgall
Louis Ordway Smithgall entered into eternal rest at Gandalupe Valley Hospital in Sequin, Tx. on March 5, 2001.
Born Dec. 3, 1911 in Wallis Run, Pa., he was a custom cabinet maker. He was an accomplished musician and played with Wondering Troupadeeres in the 30s.
He was the father of 5 children, Dennis of McAllen, Tx., Joy Albin, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Fredy Louise Wait Jr. and Loris Irene, both of Sequin, and Amy Skinner, deceased. There are 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Freda (Yarrison) Smithgall. They would have been married 64 years in June.
Burial will be at McAllen.
He is sent home by all his family, with love!

Mattie G. Stewart
Mattie G. Stewart, 95, of McEwensville, died Monday, April 9, 2001 at the Muncy Valley S.N.U. Her husband, Reed Stewart, died May 23, 1980. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Ray (Loye) Dixon of McEwensville, nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, Turbotville. Visitation Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Graveside service Friday at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Robert E. Benner
Robert E. Benner, of 705 Market St. #602, Sunbury, Pa., died at Geisinger Medical Center April 11, 2001 at 6:10 a.m. He was 70 yrs. old. Born in Sunbury Sept. 25, 1930, the son of the late Vernon "Buzz" & Keturah (Gamby) Benner. He served in the US Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a butcher for A&P Markets until he retired in 1981. He graduated from Sunbury H.S. in 1949. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam, life member of the Americus Hose Co., Shade Mountain Golf Club. He was the president of his high school class of 1949 and served as secretary for the Monday Night Bowling League at 522 Bowling Lanes.
Surviving: companion, Phyllis Bowersox; children, Todd W. of Berwick, Pa., Tracy J. & Edward Mertes III of Cogan Station, Pa. & Mark R. & Debra of Shamokin Dam, Pa.; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Michelle, Kimberly & Jane; brothers, Lee "Brick" of Edison, NJ & Jack of Sunbury; numerous nieces & nephews. A brother, James Turner and sister, Emma Conrad preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Shamokin Dam at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Wayne Muthler of his church will officiate. Burial will be at Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury. Friends may call from 12 noon until the time of service. Contributions can be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 68, Shamokin Dam, Pa. 17876. Arrangements were made by the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, Pa.

Edward A. Coudriet Jr.
Edward A. Coudriet Jr., 79, of Richmond, VA, died Saturday, April 7, 2001. Born Nov. 28, 1921, in Williamsport, he was a son of Edward & Margaret Grotzinger Coudriet. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette. Survivors include 3 children in Richmond; 2 brothers, Leon F., Williamsport, Norbert L., Montvale, NJ; a sister, Marie M. Shief, Cogan Station. Services were held in Virginia.

Rosalie DiMichele
Rosalie DiMichele, 84, formerly of 337 Walnut St., Williamsport, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at ManorCare Health Services.
She had been a salesperson at the former L.L. Stearns for 25 years.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity. Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. 3rd St.

Thomas F. Rzeplinski Sr.
Thomas Francis Rzeplinski, Sr., 44, of 850 Second St., died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in the Williamsport Hospital Emergency Room as a result of injuries in a house fire.
He was a graduate of the Mahanoy Area High School and had attended Penn College. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and an Army veteran.
He was born in Shenadoah, PA on August 8, 1956, a son of Bernard John and Arlene L. Wagner Rzeplinski, Sr.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his wife, the former Sunny Belle Dannelley, both of this city; a son, Thomas F., Jr.; a daughter, Tiffany Rayane, both of this city; two brothers, Bernard John, Jr., Hawaii and Joseph, city; two sisters, Jean Vicek, city and Mary Ann Rzeplinski, Nevada; and his maternal grandmother, Mary Wagner of Oval.
A memorial service will be held on April 17, 4 p.m. at St. Paul U. M. Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., with Rev. David L. Weaver, church pastor officiating. There will be no visitation, family will provide the flowers. Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, Schuylkill Co., at the convenience of the family. Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

Clara A. Sears
Clara A. Sears, 99, of 101 Leader Drive, Williamsport, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in ManorCare Health Services South.
Born August 30, 1901 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Anthony H. Shappert and Ella A. Lunn.
Services will be private. Arrangements by Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St.

Agnes A. Sparling
Agnes A. Sparling, 85, of Mansfield, PA, died April 11, 2001 at home. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Winder of Mansfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, Mansfield. Friends may call at Wilston's, 18 N. Main St., Sunday from 7-9 p.m.

Dorothy M. Spotts
Dorothy M. Spotts, 93, of 21 East Mountain Ave., South Williamsport, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in ManorCare North Health Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Spotts, who died March 22 this year, after 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Spotts was a member of Pine Street U.M.C., and she was active in Genealogy Associations. She attended the Bloomsburg State Teachers' College, and is a graduate of the Williamsport Commercial College. She worked as a secretary for Carl Ott Insurance Company. Her hobbies included genealogy, collecting miniatures, sewing, cooking, typing and playing the piano. She was a descendant of Ludwig Eyer, the founder of Bloomsburg, and was a relative of the founder of Eyers Grove, Jacob Eyer. She had written and published a book about life in the small town of Eyers Grove entitled "Memories of a Country Village, A History of Eyers Grove, Pennsylvania 1860-1900."
Born on January 20, 1908 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Harry W. and Mazie Hileman Manning. Surviving are a son, Allan M. Spotts of Jersey Shore and a sister, Winifred Allbeck of Millville. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Weldon L. Manning and H. Edgar Manning.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders, 821 Diamond St., with her pastor, the Rev. Drue A. Sherman officiating. Burial will be held in Millville Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, and are invited to bring memories, or memorabilia of Dorothy and Charles with them.

Elwyn G. Wrisley
Elwyn G. Wrisley, 78, of 28 Austin St., Wellsboro, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Born Sept. 8, 1922 in Troy, he was a son of Perley C. & Helen Teribury Wrisley. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Helen W. Woleslagle at home; 2 sons; 2 daughters; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 brother; 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Fassett Baptist Church. Scureman Funeral Home, Mansfield.

B. Frank Borger
B. Frank Borger, 93, of 718 Poplar St., Williamsport, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, in Williamsport Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha J. Schlee Borger, who died in 1993. Mr. Borger was a member of Lycoming Presbyterian Church, where he was active in many church activities, which included a Sunday School Teacher and the Financial Secretary for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and he was a member of the Masons F&AM Lodge and the American Legion.
Born July 7, 1907 in Curwensville, he was the son of John and Laura Belle Kreft Borger. He was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
Services will be held 11 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, at Lycoming Presbyterian Church, 825 Arch St., Wmspt., with his pastor, the Rev. Richard W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to Lycoming Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Sanders.

Donald C. Bross
Donald C. Bross, 81, of 1665 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, died at his home on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. Mr. Bross was born August 5, 1919, in Jersey City, NJ, a son of Harry E. and Doreen B. Chapman Bross.
Mr. Bross was a graduate of New York University, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, and served as a volunteer at the James V. Brown Library and Divine Providence Hospital. He had been employed by Duncan, Fox & Co., an import/export company in New York City.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, the former Elsie Fedoruk; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Peggy Bross, with whom he lived; two grandsons, Michael Bross of Cogan Station and Jesse Maruschak and his wife, Ginnette, of Lansdale; and a great granddaughter, Natalie Grace Maruschak. His daughter, Vivian Goodenough, died in 1984.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust, pastor of St. John's United Methodist Church, officiating.

Austin Michael Coleman
Austin Michael Coleman, the son of Amanda Lynn Gottschall & Christopher Michael Coleman of Picture Rocks, was stillborn at Williamsport Hospital on Wednesday, April 11, 2001. Surviving in addition to his parents are 2 sisters, Felicia & Michelle, along with grandparents & great grandparents. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in Montoursville Cemetery with the Rev. D. Gene Patterson officiating.
