Mrs. Dorothy M. Robb, 84, of 123 Central Ave., Avis, Pa., died Saturday, April 14, 2001 in Sycamore Manor Nursing Home, Montoursville, Pa. Born December 29, 1916 in McElhattan, Pa., she was the daughter of Allen E. McKague and the former Mabel Crocker. She was united in marriage to Mr. Newton E. Robb, December 25, 1935. He preceded her in death December 23, 2000.
She and her husband newton were the owners and operators of Robb's store in Avis from 1935 until they retired in 1979. She was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avis, Pa., and served the church as a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent. She also sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Jersey Shore Business and Professional Women and a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter # 28 order of Easter Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carol R. Rhoads of Avis, Pa.: two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna McKague. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, corner of Reed and Highland St.'s, Avis, Pa. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, Pa. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Steven Brauner and the Rev. George Doran will officiate.
George W. Hiltz
George W. Hiltz, 84, of Williamsport, died April 15, 2001. He was born in East Hopewell Township, York Cty., the son of George F. & Emily Veach Hiltz. He was retired from the Reading Railroad. Survivors include 2 sons, Leonard W. of Muncy & Lewis G. of Harrisonville, VA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 2 sisters, Dorothea M. Shaw of Stewartstown & Elizabeth Rickmar of Washington DC; and 1 brother, David E. Hiltz of Powell, TN. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel R. Hiltz. Graveside Service will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Stewartstown Cemetery. Arrangements by JJ Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown.
William H. Schrum
William H. Schrum, 82, died on April 15, 2001 at the Williamsport Hospital. A life-time resident of Williamsport, Mr. Schrum resided at 450 Harding Avenue and most recently at Valley View Nursing Center in Montoursville. He was born on July 18, 1918, the son of William Schrum and Marion Wollett Schrum Hackenberg.
As a young man, William Schrum was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of life scout. He graduated from Williamsport High School and attended Dickenson Seminary. Mr. Schrum served his country as a weather observer in the European Theater as a staff sergeant in the 9th Air Force Headquarter's Squadron in France. He was employed by Raub Supply Company, Iron-Fireman Company and Clayton C. Smith Company. As a manufacturer's representative specializing in the sale of HVAC equipment, Mr. Schrum was for 27 years the founder and owner of Dumore Sales Company.
Mr. Schrum spent his life serving others. He was co-founder and president of the Williamsport High School Booster Club, President of the Williamsport Rotary Club, President of the Board of Directors of the Williamsport Area School District, President of the Board of Trustees of the Williamsport Area Community College, Chairman of the Lycoming United Way, Active Member and Instructor for the Red Cross, a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA and Treasurer of the Grampian Hills Club. He was an active member and coach in both the Brandon Little League and the East End League. As a member of the Deitrick Lamade Lodge, Mr. Schrum served in various capacities. He was also active in the Scottish Rite Consistory, Knight Templers, and was a Thirty-Third Degree Mason.
Mr. Schrum was a member of the Lycoming Presbyterian Church for more than fifty years. He was an elder in the church and was founder of the church newsletter, The Lyco Press. In his elder years, Mr. Schrum wrote Just Ramblin', a monthly commentary about life.
Mr. Schrum is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathyrn Egli Schrum; his son and daughter-in-law, Samuel William Schrum and Cheryl Boyer Scrum of Williamsport; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley A. and Dale E. Doebler of Montgomery, a daughter, Holly Schrum-Lomas of Doylestown; a sister, Marion Schrum of New York City; step sisters, Doris Lundy of Montoursville and Janet Nicolosi of McEwensville; a foster sister, Viola Vallimont of Aurora, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Debra L. Waldman, Lisa Flook, James W. and Alison Schrum of Williamsport; Bryon, Kathryn and Christopher Lomas of Doylestown and four great-grandchildren, Brooke and Sydney Waldman, Jason Strassner and Samantha Flook.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., April 19, 2001 at the Lycoming Presbyterian Church, with his pastor, the Rev. Richard W. Miller officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Twin Hills Cemetery in Montoursville. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 18th, from 7-9 p.m. at the Lycoming Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming Presbyterian Church Permanent Endowment Fund in honor or Mr. Schrum.

Lynn M. Weaver Sr.
Lynn M. Weaver Sr., 79, of 81 Weaver St., Linden, died Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Williamsport Hospital. His wife, the former Carmen Cohick, died in 1987.
Mr. Weaver worked for the railroad and the former Avco. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Maryland, the Republican League and was an avid hunter.
Born March 18, 1922 in Westover, he was the son of Franklin C. & Cecelia Smead Weaver.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie J. Bryan of Avis; 3 grandchildren, Alicia, Matthew & Aaron; 1 great grandchild, Tess; 2 step grandchildren, Megan & Matthew. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers & 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:30 p.m. at Sanders', 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday.
Lynn M. Weaver Jr.
Lynn M. Weaver Jr., 51, of 576 Jackstraw Rd., Julian, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at his home due to heart complications. He and his wife, the former Margaret M. Galloway, were married March 13, 1999.
He was a maintenance supervisor with PA State Parks. He was a 1967 graduate of Williamsport High School, received his associate degree from the former Williamsport Area Community College, had been a U.S. Marine, and was an avid hunter and fisherman

Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Matthew of Fayetteville, NC; 2 stepchildren, Beth Clark of Berkshire, NY & Chester Callahan of Louisiana; 10 grandchildren, Tess, Megan, Matthew, Douglas, Daniel, Devon, Alec, Zachary, Amber & Kirstin; and 1 sister, Bonnie J. Bryan of Avis.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:30 p.m. at Sanders', 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday.
Vera Jean Bair
Vera Jean Bair, 82, of Williamsport, died Friday, April 13, 2001 at her residence. Born September 23, 1918 in Williamsport she was the daughter of Earnest and Mildred Harbot Bair.
Vera retired from the former GTE Sylvania in Montoursville.
She is survived by nieces, Kay E. Wolfe of Mountoursville and Jeanne L. Reeder of Williamsport. She was preceded in the death by her sister, M. Louise Reeder.
The funeral will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St. with associate pastor, Rev. Kenton Hunt of the First Southern Baptist Church officiating. Mary Ruth Nevius
Mary Ruth Nevius, 77, of 2450 Grimesville Road, Williamsport, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at her home.
She was born September 30, 1923 in Montour County, the daughter of Brady and Julia Ball Reese. She was a machine operator for the West Company, before retiring in 1986. Surviving are a daughter, Bunny R. Flanigan with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Michael, Marshall Jr., and James; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Hilla Appleman of Turbotville. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edmond, Carl, Sylvan and Maynard and a sister, L. Marie Ploch.
Services will be held Thursday, 2:30 p.m. at Sanders', 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Jonathan W. Baker of Trinity Assembly of God Church officiating. Leo W. Harman
Leo W. "Dan" Harman, 83, of 1400 Almond St., Williamsport, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at his residence. Born June 16, 1917 in Williamsport, he was the son of Joseph and Clara Neece Harman.
He retired in 1982 after 23 years as a warehouse clerk with the Williamsport Area School District where he attended High School. He was a member of Blessing Mountains Hunting Club, Warrensville, and the Montoursville Senior Citizens Club.
He is survived by his wife, Madelyn Peters Harman with whom he was married with for 33 years. Also surviving are a brother, Orville Harman of Montoursville and a sister, Elizabeth Jenks of Kitchner, Canada. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Gury, Willard, Herbert and Max Harman; sisters, Rhea McGee, Margaret Smith and Bertha Lundy.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., with Pastor Wendi C. Gordon of St. Matthews Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Louise M. Smith
Louise M. Smith, 75, of 29 Grampian Blvd., died Monday, April 16, 2001 at ManorCare North, Williamsport. Born Sept. 16, 1925 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of William and Verna Butler McCloskey. She was married to Leo C. Smith, who preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1990.
She is survived by 2 sons, Nevin Lynn Smith of Montoursville and William A. Smith of Williamsport; a daughter, Sandra L. Simmons of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Eva M. Busler of Williamsport; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 1 niece and 1 nephew.
The funeral will be Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville with the Rev. Connie A. Waugh officiating. Interment will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Elizabeth L. Seitzer
Elizabeth L. Seitzer, 65, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Williamsport and Fairfax, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2001, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She and her husband, Lionel S. Seitzer, would have observed their 49th wedding anniversary on June 26th.
She was employed by Sylvania before moving to Fairfax, VA in 1963. There she was employed by Woodward-Lothrop Department Store for several years. She was a 1953 graduate of the Williamsport High School and enjoyed gardening, traveling and boating: however, her greatest enjoyment was her family.
She was born in Williamsport on February 4, 1936, a daughter of Lawrence and Gladys Kontz Cahn.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Judith L. Brocato of Redondo Beach, FL and Tevis M. McKinstry and her husband Brett of Fort Myers; five grandchildren, Laura, Travis, Darrell, Reid and Brynn, and a great grandson, Wyatt; three sisters, Constance Ross of Ontario, Canada, Patricia Taylor of Linesville, PA and Jean Taylor, city.
Funeral service Friday, April 20, 10 a.m. at the Knight-Confer Funeral Home, Inc., 1914 Memorial Avenue, with Rev. Drue A. Sherman, pastor of the Pine Street U. M. Church officiating.
