Rupert G. Quick, 92, formerly of Unionville, Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at the Centre Community Hospital. His wife, the former Ruth C. Hagy, died Jan. 24, 1996. Born May 18, 1909 in Milesburg, he was a son of Edward & Alice Lucas Quick.
He was a welder at Cerro Metal Products, retiring in 1974. Rupert was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed hunting, gardening and fishing.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Barbara A. Ciccarelli of Williamsport & Joan Quick Bettinger of Santa Monica, CA; a son, Richard G. Quick of Washington, DC; a brother, Lloyd "Pete" Quick of Milesburg; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Thomas D. Vance officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg.
Anna Bock Sartori
Anna Bock Sartori, 92, formerly of the 1000 block of Penn St., Williamsport, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at Williamsport Home, where she had been a resident for 8 1/2 years. Her husband, Andrew J. Sartori, died June 4, 1996. Born Jan. 19, 1909 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Bernard and Anne Ritter Bock.
She had been employed by Bishop Neumann High School in the cafeteria. Anna was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was an avid reader.
Surviving are a son, Bernard A. Sartori of Nisbet; 4 daughters, Ann Marie Wood of Muncy, Andrewleen B. O'Connor of Picture Rocks, Kathleen E. DiSalvo and Ellen E. Kilpatrick, both of this city; a sister, Elizabeth Kuzio of this city; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul J.Sartori, a grandson, Terry Sartori; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Her grandson, the Rev. Andrew Kilpatrick, will officiate. Friends may call at the church lounge on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers. Jacob P. "Jake" Kern
Jacob P. "Jake" Kern, 78, of Coal Twp., died June 2, 2001. Retiring in 1985, he was employed at AVCO Lycoming Motors as a machinist supervisor. An Army veteran of WWII, he was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack. His wife of 53 years, Doris L. Kern, survives. The funeral will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church. Burial in Northumberland Memorial Park. Visitation Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. at the church.
John A. Jeirles Sr.
John A. Jeirles, Sr., 74, of 825 Pearl Blvd., Montoursville, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at home.
John was born March 10, 1927 in Mill Hall, a son of Walter and Mary Gramley Jeirles. He worked for Burns Security as a security officer at Lycoming County Court House. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the LeRoy O. Buck Post 7863 VFW DuBoistown, and an avid sportsman.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, the former Dottie Shiffer; two sons, Duane A. Jeirles, Sr. of Mechanicsville, VA and John A. Jeirles, Jr. of Allenwood; two stepsons, Randall L. Snyder, Jr. of Williamsport and Gary E. Snyder of Milton; a stepdaughter, Tammy S. Snyder of Williamsport; 14 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; two brothers, Eugene Hunter of Lock Haven and Richard Bubb of Loyalsock; five sisters, Peggy Wells of Bay St. Louis, Miss., Sara Fuller, Maxine Dauberman, Micky Dauberman and Ethel Litz, all of Lock Haven. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at Sanders from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Matilda A. Baskin
Matilda A. Baskin, 95, formerly of Cogan Station, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at Sycamore Manor Health Center. Her husband, James B. Baskin Sr., died Feb. 22, 1988. Born Dec. 10, 1905 in Shamokin, she was a daughter of William & Ellen Weaver Woolridge.
A resident of Cogan Station since 1950, she previously lived in Williamsport. Matilda was a homemaker, graduate of Shamokin High School & member of Quiggleville United Methodist Church for 51 years.
Surviving are 2 sons, James (Elinor) Jr. & Ralph L. (Eileen), all of Cogan Station; a daughter, Gertrude (Glenn) Paulhamus of Cogan Station; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Woolridge & a sister, Gertrude McMurtrie.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Wayne Hepler & James B. Baskin III officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Trevorton. Anastasia B. Hamm
Mrs. Anastasia B. Hamm, 96, formerly of Williamsport and the 300 block of Clark Street, South Williamsport, PA, died Saturday, June 2, 2001 at Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville, PA.
She was the widow of the late George A. Hamm, who preceded her in death on October 18, 1992.
Born September 9, 1904 at Cascade Township, Lycoming County, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and Isabel Farley McNamee.
Mrs. Hamm was a member of the Saint Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, South Williamsport. She was the first president of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, and was a past president of the Divine Providence Hospital Auxillary.
She is survived by two sons, John and George, both of Williamsport; two daughters, Honora Popper of Marlton, New Jersey and Mary Formica of Harrisburg, PA; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 West Central Avenue, South Williamsport. The Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, her priest, will be the celebrant. Interment will be at Saint Boniface Cemetery, Williamsport. Friends may call at the Noll Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a vigil service at 8:30 p.m.

Rosemary Infantino Hamilton
Rosemary Infantino Hamilton, 46, of 2800 Faircroft Way, Monroe, NC, died Thursday, August 9, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews, NC. Born April 18, 1955 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Angelo and Mary LaCerra Infantino. She attended Color School for photo processing and was employed by P.C.A. Photo Processing Lab in Matthews, NC. She had been employed by Reighard Electric here in the city for 20 years prior to moving to North Carolina. She was a graduate of Bishop Neumann High School. Rosemary was a member of the Keystone Cruisers Car Club here in Williamsport and both the Town and Country and Carolina Cruisers Car Clubs in NC. She was a member of the American Garden Club in Charlotte, NC, the Loyalsock Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she was the recipient of the 25 year Order of the Rose Award, and the Charlotte, NC Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. An avid Nascar racing fan, she was a former member of the Williamsport Country Club. She loved country music and line dancing, and was a member of the Allen Jackson Fan Club. She was the former owner of the Lycoming Braided Fabrics, Inc., here in the city. She is survived by her dog, Shadow and lifelong friends, Yvonne & Gary Reighard of Williamsport; 2 brothers, Nicholas J. Melfi of Marysville & Anthony M. Melfi of Williamsport; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Merrill of Montoursville & Angela Louise Mitchell of Duncannon; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 635 Hepburn St., Williamsport, 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Msgr. Francis J. Castellano, officiating. Dorothy M. Frank
Dorothy M. Frank, 76, formerly of Montoursville, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001 at the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit where she resided. Her husband, Carl E. Frank, died in 1989. Dorothy retired as a nurses aide from the former Lysock View, Montoursville. Born July 19, 1925 in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of John W. and Myrtle Allahouse Clontz. She is survived by a son, William Clontz of DuBois; a daughter, Elizabeth Flasher of McClure; a brother, William Clontz of DuBois; two sisters, Mildred Eckert of St. Mary’s and Gertrude Clyde of Philipsburg; 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Eleanor M. Hill
Eleanor M. Hill, 89, a guest at Manor Care South, formerly of 353 Bastian Ave., South Williamsport, died Saturday, August 11, 2001 at the manor. Born January 3, 1912 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Charles C. and Rosa Belle (Kennedy) Otto. She was a homemaker. Her husband, James B. Hill, died on June 19, 1977. Surviving are two sons, George B. of Cogan Station and James R. of Mill Hall; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. Dorothy E. Kulp
Dorothy E. Kulp, 86, resident of Jersey Shore ManorCare, passed away on Aug. 12, 2001. She was born May 20, 1915 in Salladasburg, Pa., the daughter of Elmer L. & Sara J. Riggle, also deceased. On March 26, 1932, she married Miles E. Kulp, also deceased. She is survived by 4 daughters, Rose A. Stark of Jersey Shore, Pa., Joyce E. Tawney of Princess Anne, Md., Loretta M. Cohick of Linden, Pa., Linda L. Kastner of Avis, Pa.; 2 brothers, Edwin H. Riggle of ManorCare, Jersey Shore and Elmer Leroy Riggle of Jersey Shore; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Charles E. Kulp and Miles E. Kulp Jr.; 3 brothers, Earl, Lewis and Chester; and 1 sister, Bertha. Dorothy was a member of the Church of God of Jersey Shore for app. 45 years. She worked at Weldon Mfg. Co. for 27 years as a presser and was a member of ManorCare for a little over 2 years. Friends may call at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore from 7-9 tonight. James Gibson Logue Jr.
James Gibson Logue Jr., 85, formerly of Blue Bell and Wyndmoor, a retired obstetrician and gynecologist, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at Cathedral Village in Roxborough, where he had live for about a year. Dr. Logue had been on the staffs of Germantown, Chestnut Hill and Roxborough Memorial Hospitals for more than 20 years when, in 1970, he was named chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Germantown Hospital and gave up his practice at the other two hospitals. He remained chairman until 1982 and retired in 1987. During his years at Germantown Hospital, he served two terms as president of the staff. His wife of 59 years, Camille Woods Logue, said that by the time her husband had retired, he had delivered almost 10,000 babies. Born Oct. 6, 1915, he was the son of Dr. & Mrs. J. Gibson Logue. Dr. Logue was born and raised in Williamsport, where he was a star football player at Williamsport High School and was named an all-state center. He graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg and, in 1941, the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. While attending medical school, he performed professionally as a magician, a life-long avocation. He held memberships in the International Society of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Dr. Logue was a lieutenant commander in the Navy Medical Corps during WWII. While a Navy doctor he served at Montford Point, a segregated camp for the first black Marines at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. In the 1950s and 1960s, Dr. Logue was the obstetrician at the Florence Crittenton Home, which at that time was for unwed mothers. He was a former board member of Stapeley Hall, a retirement home in Germantown, and a member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club. He enjoyed mathematics. After his retirement and until his eyesight failed two years ago, he took advanced math courses at Chestnut Hill and Gwynedd Mercy Colleges. In addition to his wife, Dr. Logue is survived by a son, James Gibson III; daughters, Alexandra and Camille Orman; 5 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert J. Rutledge, Williamsport. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Society of Germantown, 6511 Lincoln Dr., Germantown. Burial will be private. The family suggests contributions to the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, 919 Walnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19107.
Clara C. Bebenek
Clara C. Bebenek, 78, of Coal Township, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001, at Williamsport Hospital. Born April 20, 1923, in Paxinos, she was a daughter of Joseph & Catherine Markoskie Szymanski. Her husband, Edward Bebenek, died Jan. 18, 1972.
She was a Dietary Worker at the Danville State Hospital. Clara was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, The Council of Catholic Women & the Sunshine Club. She was an active church volunteer.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Carol Bebenek of Catawissa, Delores "Dee" Huda of Muncy, Cathryn Galt of Swansboro, NC; 1 son, Edward of Numidia; 6 grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Melissa, Christopher, Jamison & Jesse; 1 great grandson, Jamison; 2 sisters & 1 brother, Helen Biedrzycki, Anna Waraksa & Joseph Szymanski, all of Shamokin; several nieces & nephews.

Josephine Bennett
On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 14, 2001, Josephine (Shedden) Bennett passed away at her Canton residence. She was the widow of Henry J. Bennett. Viewing 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, Inc., 40 N. Center Street, Canton. Funeral services Friday at 11 a.m. Interment in Windfall Cemetery.
Kenneth Ira Boyer
Kenneth Ira Boyer, 93, died on August 13, 2001, in Williamsport, PA, where he was a long-time resident.
Mr. Boyer graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1930 with a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics. He worked in the Susquehanna Division Sales Department of PP&L starting in 1930, serving as Manager of Business Development Sales from 1955 until he retired from the company in 1973.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers and was its Susquehanna Chapter President from 1955-1956. He served on the Executive Committee of the Susquehanna Economic Development Association for many years, starting in 1956 as a Charter Member. He was Industrial Committee Chairman of the organization in 1964. He also was Director of the Lycoming United Fund from 1958-1961 and a member of the Greater Williamsport Chamber of Commerce.
Among his many church related activities at Christ Episcopal Church in Williamsport he served in the capacities of Vestryman from 1941-1956, Senior Warden from 1957-1959, and as a member of the Standing Committee, Diocese of Harrisburg from 1957-1960.
His wife, Ella Frances Kerr Boyer, passed away Feb. 5, 2000. He is survived by a sister, Virginia Wynne, Bangor, PA and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Requiem Mass will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 426 Mulberry St., Williamsport, PA, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert H. Pursel officiating, followed by interment in Wildwood Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers. If desired memorials may be sent to the Bishop Burrill Mission Fund, c/o Christ Episcopal Church, 426 Mulberry St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are being handled by the James C.
