Donald F. Lowe, 88, of 213 Pepper Street, Muncy, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Roy F. Lund

Roy F. Lund, 81, of Muncy, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001, at the Williamsport Hospital.
His wife, the former Lillian M. Gundersen, died December 1, 1997.
He was an engineer and had been employed with Philco Ford in Philadelphia and G.T.E. Sylvania, Halls Station plant. He and his wife owned and operated the former Muncy Craft Center. He retired from the Milton School District.
He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a member of the American Physics Society.
Born August 23, 1920 in New York City, he was the son of Fredrik and Lilli Hansen Lund.
Surviving are one son, Carl R. Lund of Buffalo, NY; one daughter, Lise M. Lund of Danville; one sister, Edith Blaylock of Chapel Hill, NC and two grandchildren, Kari Beth Lund and Michelle Lund.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Wallis-Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be the Rev. Roy D. Meyer, pastor of the Emmanual/St. James Lutheran parishes. Interment will be in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lycoming County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Ethel C. Bard, 88, Amberson, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001, in Carlisle Hospital. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Francis P. Bard, she is survived by daughters, Mary L. Fraatz of Kent, OH and Lois C. Wright, with whom she resided; two sisters, Betty J. Crossley and Doris J. VanHorn, both of city.
Services will be private with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run.
Charles S. Daugherty

Charles S. Daugherty, 68, of Griggs Rd., Pennsdale, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001, at his home.
Born March 23, 1933, in Newberry, he was a son of George and Helen Staggert Daugherty. He and his wife, the former Carol A. Rupert, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on June 9.
Charles loved hunting and sports. He especially enjoyed watching his grandsons compete in their different sports activities. He had served as caretaker for the East Lycoming Little League Fields from 1989-97. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Gospel Church, Pennsdale.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jerry and his wife, Wendy, of Hughesville; three grandsons, Kyle, Kurt and Kevin; two brothers, George of Montgomery and James of Newberry; four sisters, Margaret Baysore, Sandra Steers and Becky Koons, all of Muncy and Mary Jane Pfirman of Rock Hill, SC. He was predeceased by a brother, David and three sisters, Sarah Hauke, Betty Capeluck and Barbara Daugherty.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at McCarty-Thomas’, 557 E. Water St. in Hughesville with Pastor Jerry Frear, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Korean War Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. The family will provide the flowers and in his memory, they suggest contributions to the Susquehanna Home Health Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Vivian L. Davidson

Vivian L. Davidson, 67, of 1228 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, died Thursday, September 13, 2001, in the Williamsport Hospital.
She was born in Pine Creek Twp., Clinton Co. on February 27, 1934. Her mother was Ethel E. “Curly” Keller Shemory. On July 22, 1950 she married Grant L. Davidson, who survives. For over 18 years, she and her husband were hosts at Little Pine Campground. She enjoyed cooking, camping, Christmas shopping and fishing. She was a member of Garman Lutheran Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Larry G. Davidson of Jersey Shore, Dennis C. Davidson of Linden and Mark N. Davidson of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Dawn L. Lupacchino of Jersey Shore and Kathy J. Crawford of Antes Fort; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2001 from Garman Lutheran Church, Pine Creek, with her pastor, Rev. David M. Byerly, officiating. Interment will be at the family’s convenience.
Her family suggests contributions be made to either the Lycoming Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. 3rd St., Williamsport, PA, 17701 or the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA, 17701.

Catherine M. Robison

Mrs. Catherine M. Robison, 82, of 100 Short Street, Avis, died Wednesday evening, September 12, 2001, in the Manor Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.
Born March 30, 1919, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of James Sementelli and the former Christine Morasco. She is survived by her husband, Harry E. Robison; they were united in marriage August 12, 1944, in Lock Haven.
For many years she was employed by Bloomsburg Mills in Lock Haven and Brodart of Williamsport. She was a member of the Church of Saint Luke in Jersey Shore. She was a member and past president of the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Helen L. Lowmiller of Williamsport; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vincent Sementelli of Lock Haven and Francis Sementelli of Sebring, FL and two sisters, Genevieve Wallis of Bellfountaine, OH and Elizabeth Martino of Owaso, MI.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 17, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of Saint Luke, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening in the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A prayer vigil service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home. Rev. Andrew Hvozdovic will officiate. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
Madelyn E. Blesh

Madelyn E. Blesh, 82, formerly of 38 Church St., Dunnstown, died September 13, 2001 in the Lock Haven Hospital ECU, where she had been a resident for the last three years.
Born August 17, 1919 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Maude Bauman Blesh.
Madelyn was a 1937 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Lock Haven. She had worked for Piper Aircraft, employed as a secretary for many years, retiring in 1984. She had also been very involved with the Lock Haven Sentimental Journey Celebrations, serving as secretary of the event for many years. Madelyn had been a member of both the Lock Haven and Jersey Shore BPW association and had been a very active Lock Haven Hospital Gift Shop volunteer.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Beryl M. Blesh of Farrandsville, PA; three nieces, Phyllis Grenoble, Donna Palosky and Marilyn Wagner; six nephews, Harry Deise, Paul Lowe, Dennis Lowe, Jeffery Lowe, John Blesh and H. Joel Blesh.
She was preceded in death by one brother, J. Nevin Blesh and two sisters, Miriam Deise and Dorothy Lowe.
At the request of Madelyn, there will be no visitation. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Swissdale Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. James VanZandt of the Covenant United Methodist Church, Lock Haven.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the Piper Aviation Museum or the Covenant Church through the funeral home.
The Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, is in charge of the arrangements.

Kathaline O. Sundberg

Kathaline O. Sundberg, 84, died Friday, September 14, 2001 at Manor Care North in Williamsport, where she had been a guest for two years. She was formerly of Avis.
She was born in Avis, October 15, 1916, the daughter of Oscar T. and Clara Alice Shaw Sundberg. She was a graduate of Avis High School and was an accomplished musician. During the 1930’s, she had her own show on WRAK where she played accordion and sang. Later, she performed wtih the Ray Saar Trio, beginning in the 1960’s until the early 1990’s. She was a member of the Musicians Local Union and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Newberry. She was employed over 16 years at the J.C. Penney Company in Williamsport.
She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Barner of Orlando, FL; two nieces, Patty Rohe of Jersey Shore and Judy McClain of Washington, D.C.; one nephew, John Brown of Kansas; one granddaughter, Barrie L. Haghgou and her husband Bob; one grandson Brett Barner; two great-grandchildren, Sean and Parisa Haghgou along with her good friend Ray Saar of Williamsport.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2001 from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
George W. Willis

George W. Willis, 81, of Broad St., Hughesville, died Thursday, September 13, 2001 at his home.
Born September 15, 1919, in Coal City, IL, he was a son of Harry and Mary Peterbok Willis. He and his wife, the former Regina L. Fought, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on July 3.
George graduated from Coal City High School and attended Lycoming College. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII and had retired from the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel. George is a member of the Retired Air Force Reserve and American Legion Post 35 in Hughesville. Retiring in 1980, he had been employed for 34 years at Jones & Laughlin Steel in Muncy, which later became Bridon American Corp. George is a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Hughesville, and the Brady Lodge 116 IOOF, Muncy. Additionally, he was a member of Muncy Lodge 299 F&AM, Williamsport Consistory, and the Zaphar Grotto in South Williamsport.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, James, and his wife Pam, of Indiana, PA; a daughter, Jeanne Dykstra, and her husband Bill, of Ft. Pierce, FL and two grandchildren, Brian and Julie Willis. George is predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Elmer Willis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McCarty-Thomas’, 557 E. Water St. in Hughesville, with Rev. Ralph Hibbs, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by combined veterans organizations. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
