James Gibson Logue Jr., 85, formerly of Blue Bell and Wyndmoor, a retired obstetrician and gynecologist, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at Cathedral Village in Roxborough, where he had live for about a year. Dr. Logue had been on the staffs of Germantown, Chestnut Hill and Roxborough Memorial Hospitals for more than 20 years when, in 1970, he was named chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at Germantown Hospital and gave up his practice at the other two hospitals. He remained chairman until 1982 and retired in 1987. During his years at Germantown Hospital, he served two terms as president of the staff. His wife of 59 years, Camille Born Oct. 6, 1915, he was the son of Dr. & Mrs. J. Gibson Logue. Dr. Logue was born and raised in Williamsport, where he was a star football player at Williamsport High School and was named an all-state center. He graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg and, in 1941, the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. While attending medical school, he performed professionally as a magician, a life-long avocation. He held memberships in the International Society of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Dr. Logue was a lieutenant commander in the Navy Medical Corps during WWII. While a Navy doctor he served at Montford Point, a segregated camp for the first black Marines at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. In the 1950s and 1960s, Dr. Logue was the obstetrician at the Florence Crittenton Home, which at that time was for unwed mothers. He was a former board member of Stapeley Hall, a retirement home in Germantown, and a member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club. He enjoyed mathematics. After his retirement and until his eyesight failed two years ago, he took advanced math courses at Chestnut Hill and Gwynedd Mercy Colleges. In addition to his wife, Dr. Logue is survived by a son, James Gibson III; daughters, Alexandra and Camille Orman; 5 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert J. Rutledge, Williamsport. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Society of Germantown, 6511 Lincoln Dr., Germantown. Burial will be private. Anna L. Steiner
Mrs. Anna L. Steiner, 91, died Wednesday, October 26, at the Williamsport Home. She was a long-time resident of Montoursville and a graduate of the Class of 1932 at Montoursville High School.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Montoursville.
She was employed by several companies in the Montoursville area, including Sylvania and Warshow’s.
She was born on April 10, 1914, in Williamsport and was the daughter of John and Anna May Nurnberger. She and her husband, Adolph P. Steiner, were marriage for 54 years.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son John, and her brother Jack.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Thomas P. and Evelyn R. Steiner of DeMotte, IN; grandsons Justin S. Steiner of Valparaiso, IN and Theron T. Steiner of Weehawken, NJ; and great grandson Grant also of Valparaiso.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29 at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville. Anna’s pastor, Rev. J. Jeffrey Zetto, will officiate. The family invites friends and relatives to make visits from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Spitler Funeral Home. The family will provide the flowers.

Dean F. Thomke, 60, of Montoursville, Pa., formerly of Germania, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in the Williamsport Hospital.

Sally-Lee Frances Ayers, age 60, of Lakeside Lane, Lawrenceville, died April 29, 2007, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Friends and family are invited to Sally-Lee’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, from 11 a.m. to noon at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral to follow at noon.

Marcus I. Kirby
Marcus I. Kirby, 1, of Belwood Dr., Horseheads, went home to his Lord on Friday, April 27, 2007, at Arnot Odgen Hospital.
He was born February 7, 2006 in Killeen, Texas, the precious son of Norris W. and Kelly J. (Fairfax) Kirby.
Marcus is survived by his parents of Horseheads; a brother, Mason (11); grandparents, Raimund Fairfax, Kennetta Andrews, and Laura Kittle of Williamsport; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Friendship Baptist Church, Corning, on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Church with Rev. Joseph B. Covington officiating. Committal prayers and Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Corning.
Susan Kay McMinn Snyder
Susan Kay McMinn Snyder, 54, of Williamsport, passed away April 29, 2007, at home with her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Franklin, Pa., on September 8, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Chester P. and Irene Cordray McMinn who survives.
She was a 1970 graduate of Lock Haven High School and 1974 graduate of Bloomsburg State College with a degree in elementary education.
On August 16, 1974, in Lock Haven, Susan was united in marriage with David E. Snyder of Renovo, who survives. After following his job through Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Ohio, they settled in Newton, N.J., during their children’s formative years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where, with members of other area churches, she was instrumental in establishing Manna House, a soup kitchen, and served on its Board of Directors for many years. She loved playing in the Bell Choir, and served on various committees in the church and acted as substitute for the Sunday School secretary and teachers.
Mrs. Snyder was a leader for her son’s Cub Scout pack and supported her daughter’s cheerleading squad from the fifth grade through her senior year. She was a substitute teacher for 10 years in the Newton School District and became a teacher’s aide for special needs students in the high school. Susan was a member of the Junior Women’s Club of Newton where she met many friends with whom she did many civic activities.
In 1999, the Snyders moved to Williamsport where they became active members in the Newcomer’s Club and joined the First United Methodist Church of Williamsport where she cherished her prayer group, “the Flock.”
In addition to her mother and her husband, she is survived by a son, D. Andrew Snyder C.A. of Lambertville, N.J.; a daughter, Stacey (Aaron) Mosley of Dumfries, Va.,; two grandchildren, Kelce Patrick and Avrie Sue Mosley; two sisters, Stephanie A. McMinn of Lock Haven and Sally M. (Gene) Kelley of Jersey Shore; and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Churches of Newton, N.J., of Williamsport, or the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Chapter in care of the funeral home.
Memorial service with Pastor Richard D. Waters officiating will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 2 Ross St., Williamsport. Friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Lafayette County, at the convenience of the family.

Caroline M. Bloom
Caroline M. Bloom, 81, a resident at Manor Health Services, South, and formerly of Cogan Station, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born in Farrandsville, she was the daughter of Billy and Carrie Raymond Egan.
She was a member of the Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, and was a member, and avid swimmer at the YMCA.
She is survived by four daughters, Virginia Barger of Marsh Hill, Joyce Livermore of Rose Valley, Rosemary Seeley of Fredericksburg, Va., and Bobbie Jo Bloom of Liberty; a brother, Franklin Egan of Farrandsville; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was marriage to Ronald A. Bloom who predeceased her in 1976.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Robert P. Eckard
Robert P. Eckard, 77, of Cogan Station, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at the Williamsport Hospital.
He was born Aug. 7, 1928, on the Eckard family homestead, Eckard Road, Cogan Station, to John G. Eckard and Irene Butler Eckard. He was born in the same home as his father and grandfather.
He was a charter and 50 year member of the Hepburn Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, the PA Fire Police Association and was a Ham Radio Operator. A veteran of the Korean War, he was employed by the former Ray-O-Vac in Williamsport.
Surviving is a brother, Francis, of Williamsport; sisters, Dorothy Lee and Mary Pearsall of Montoursville, Betty Calvert of Cascade and Esther Bower of Cogan Station; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel, in 2003.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday Oct. 29 at the Dunkard Church, Dunkard Church Road, Cogan Station, with the Rev. Mark Mahserjiah-Smith of the Hepburn Baptist Church officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the Blooming Grove Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. The family will provide the flowers.
