Cathy M. Harpster, 61, of Watsontown, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, after an extended illness.
She was born April 11, 1951 in Willow Grove. She married Joel R. Harpster on June 3, 1995 and they have celebrated 16 years of marriage.
Cathy was a care giver at New Concepts, McEwensville. She was very active with the Northumberland County Fair and loved animals.
Surviving in addition to her Husband are a son, John D. Murray of Huntington, Utah; a daughter, Lisa A. Anderson of Watsontown; a sister, Sheila (Robert) Deihl of Riverside; brother-in-laws, Thomas E. and Dennis R. Harpster both of Watsontown; a sister-in-law, Carmen L. Harpster of Watsontown; grandchildren, Jonathan Millet, Brandon, Kadin, Hunter, Allie and Libby Murray, Wayne, Gavin and Kyla Jacobs and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cathy was predeceased by her father, David Krueger, an aunt, Pearl Tedesco and a sister-in-law, Roberta Harpster.
Family and Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown. No services or burial at the request of the family. The family will provide flowers and suggest contributions in Cathy’s name be made to the S.P.C.A., 2801 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.

John Robert Moser, 86, Turbotville, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery. Friends may call at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5. The family will provide the flowers.

Stan Mummey, popular instrumental music director at the Muncy schools since 1954, died suddenly at his new home in the Quarry Road section about 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28.

Lydia Jane Yoder, 81, of County Line Road, Turbotville, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at her home.
Born June 14,1930 in Enon Valley, Lawrence County. She was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Martha (Yoder) Hostetler. She married Noah Y. Yoder on December 11, 1951 and they shared 56 years of marriage until his death March of 2008.
Surviving are three sons and daughter-in-laws, Mose and Betty Yoder of Sugar Grove, PA; Dan and Amanda Yoder of Dubois, PA; Jonathan and Mary Yoder of Ashville, NY; Two daughters and son-in-laws, Martha and Jonas Hershberger of Punxsutawney, PA; Sara and Menno Hershberger of Turbotville; Four brothers and sister-in-laws, Ben and Esther Hostetler of Muncy; Chris and Sara Hostetler,John J. and Andy Hostetler both of Enon Valley; three sisters and son-in-laws, Anna and John Hostetler of Tyrone; Mary and Eli Yoder of Black Creek, NY; Sara and David Byler of Turbotville, 41 Grandchildren and 80 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22nd, 1PM at the Menno Hershberger Home, 818 County Line Road, Turbotville. Calling hours will be held Sunday 8-10AM. Burial will follow at the Montour Amish Cemetery.

Joseph P. McDermott, age 33 years, formerly of Williamsport, recently of Scranton, died in the Williamsport hospital Monday morning as the result of injuries suffered in a fall Saturday morning;

Mrs. Susan J. Life
Mrs. Susan J. Life died in her ninety-ninth year on Tuesday at her winter home at Cocoanut Grove, Fla.
As founder of the Rye Seminary in 1869, now the Rye Country Day School, Mrs. Life imparted a far-reaching influence and her death is mourned by graduates of the Seminary throughout the country.

Mrs. Henrietta Glass, widow of the late Charles Glass, of Newberry, died at the home of her son, J. Russel Glass, on Friday morning, aged 61 years.
She is survived by her son.

Walter E. Bartlow
Walter E. (Wink) Bartlow, 71, of Montgomery, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Montgomery, on April 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter and Hazel (Bartlett) Bartlow.
He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Umpstead) Bartlow with whom he celebrated a 51st wedding anniversary on March 23, 2008.
Wink was employed as a veneering supervisor by the former Anton-Waldman Corp. in Hughesville, retiring in 1993.
He was an honorary member of the Circle J Hunting and Fishing Club at Elimsport. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and horseshoes. He especially enjoyed the company of his family and his dog, Duke.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann M. and Wayne LaForme, Montgomery; one son, Scott L. Bartlow and fiancée, Cindy Smith, Milton; one brother, Ronnie Bartlow, Montgomery; four sisters, Helen Dougherty, Montgomery; Linda Frey, Montgomery; Connie Mae Bartlow, Avis; Sharon Verdoni, Erie; seven grandchildren, Laura Kitner; Jake LaForme; Misty LaForme; Chad LaForme; Jill Davis; Rocky Bartlow; January Bartlow; one step-granddaughter, Lindsay Smith; three great-grandchildren, Tanner Davis; Leah Davis; Catalin Torok.
He was preceded in death by one son, Walter E. Bartlow, Jr., and one sister, Beverly Newton.
At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service.
George E. Gray
(July 14, 1938 - May 22, 2012)
George E. Gray, 73, of Susquehanna Trail, Muncy, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home.
Born July 14, 1938 in Dewart, he was the son of the late Stephen E. and Martha (Burrows) Gray. He married Angel Gray on July 10, 2010 and they had celebrated a year and 9 months of marriage.
George retired from American Home Products, Milton, where he had worked a number years.
He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included working outside on many different projects, wood working and most of all fishing the areas local streams.
Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters and son-in-law: Pamela L. and her husband Michael Sherman of Portage, Ind., Nancy E. Anderson and her companion Lee Long of Northumberland; a brother and sister-in-law: Steven and his wife Diane Gray of Watsontown, three sisters: Virginia and her husband Pick Reynolds, Lena and husband Lester Reynolds both of Watsontown, Rollanda Dee Frazier of Williamsport; a step-son: Robert R. Padgett of Muncy, two step-daughters: Nakara R. and Kimberly L. Padgett both of Owego, NY, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary E. (Hack) Gray (2008).
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
R. Stephen Opp
(August 11, 1943 - November 21, 2011)
Robert Stephen Opp, 68, a resident of Montoursville, PA, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 in The Gatehouse at Williamsport, PA following a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, PA, on Wednesday, August 11, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert Kimber and Jeannette (Hester) Opp.
Steve was a 1961 graduate of Muncy High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Muhlenberg College in 1965. He had served with the National Guard. He was employed as a salesman by Alcan Cable, Williamsport, PA retiring in 2001. Steve was then employed by South Wire, Atlanta, GA and then the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board from which he retired in March of this year to truly enjoy life.
Steve was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, the Susquehanna Boat Club and the National Rifle Association. He loved to boat and fish and enjoyed being in the out of doors.
He is survived by one son, James Stephen Opp, Helena, MT; two brothers, Richard K. Opp, Muncy, PA; Rodney H. Opp, South Williamsport, PA; his long time companion, Sharlene Hain, Montoursville, PA and his beloved dog, Cami.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 with Brian Osman officiating. Interment will be in the Twin Hills Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp., Lycoming County, PA. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
