Ralph O. Stugart, 82, formerly of 24 N. Washington St., Muncy, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Manor Care North in Williamsport, where he resided the past 1˝ years.
Born Nov. 16, 1926, in Hughesville, he was a son of the late Otto and Edna (Hill) Stugart.
His wife of 50 years, the former Betty Reuther, died Oct. 1, 2001.
Ralph was a 1944 graduate of Hughesville High School. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Merchant Marines in 1945 and then in the U. S. Army during 1946 and 1947.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jane E. and Gerald Otterbein of Muncy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Peggy Stugart and Leon and Judy Stugart, all of Hughesville, and Harold and Janet Stugart of Lancaster; one sister, Betty Montgomery of Muncy; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Alan, Paul and Donald.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, at the Muncy Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Donald P. Edwards, pastor of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muncy.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756 or Manor Care North, 300 Leader Dr., Williamsport, PA 17701.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
Margaret Banzhaf
Margaret Banzhaf, 92, of Manor Care South, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, in the Williamsport Hospital Emergency Room.
Born June 12, 1916, in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Peterman) Metzger.
On September 3, 1940, Margaret married William I. Banzhaf, Retired State Police Captain. They celebrated 54 years of marriage, until his death June 2, 1995.
She was a former member of the Monsey Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 481 and a member of the Wheel Inn, Ralston.
Surviving are a daughter, Sally Banzhaf-LaRue and her companion, Richard D. Zimmerman of Williamsport; two beloved grandchildren, Joseph W. LaRue and his wife Michelle of Conway, NH and Kristia I. Griggs of Chesapeake, VA; three beloved great-grandchildren, Kristiana, Dylan and Abigail; and loved ones Rick and Tina Zimmerman of Williamsport.
Margaret was predeceased by a brother John Metzger and his infant twin brother and an infant sister Emma Metzger.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at the Muncy Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. David P. Culbertson, pastor of St. James Episcopal Church, Muncy.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Margaret’s name be made to the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Nancy J. Coppes
Mrs. John C. Coppes, 78, of Muncy, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
Born Nancy J. Bruch, on November 17, 1930, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Mary A. (Sprout) Bruch.
On August 8, 1953, she married John C. Coppes, who preceded her in death August 26, 2007, after 54 years of marriage.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John C. Coppes, Jr. and Mary F. Callahan of State College and Michael B. and Nichole M. Coppes of Muncy; eight grandchildren, Eleanor C. Coppes, Anne C. Coppes, Collin G. Holmes, Zoe E. Holmes, Emma M. Coppes, Theodore C. Coppes, Matilda S. Coppes and JohnErnest M. Coppes; and a brother, John L. Bruch, Jr. of Muncy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by a sister, Mary B. Young.
In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, the family is planning a private service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Children’s Department of the Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.

Lewis E. “Jack” Schuck
Lewis E. “Jack” Schuck, 83, of Muncy, passed away Nov. 8, 2008 at The Gatehouse, following a brief illness.
Born May 28, 1925 in South Williamsport, he was the son of John and Ruth Liddick Schuck.
He and his wife, the former Ruth C. Miller, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Aug. 17.
A World war II veteran, he served in the Air Force,
Mr. Schuck retired from Textron and also operated Schuck Auto Sales in Fairfield Twp. for 24 years. He enjoyed his auto sales and traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald L. of Montoursville and Kenneth M. (Belinda) of Wittmann, AZ; two daughters, Nancy Lee (Manny) Montez of Phoenix, AZ and Judy E. (Joseph) Bower of Pottsville, PA; two brothers, Frank of Gilmer, TX and Harry of Loyalsock Twp.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Gary, and a granddaughter, Tami.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008 at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. David W. Trostle officiating. Interment will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m.

Eleanor M. Bartlow
March 13, 1939 - December 30, 2020
Eleanor M. Bartlow, 81, a resident of Montgomery, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in the Watsontown Nursing and Rehab Center. Born Monday, March 13, 1939 at Hughesville, Lycoming Co., PA she was a daughter of the late Scott J. and Edna J. (Miller) Umpstead. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. "Wink" Bartlow, Sr. on December 3, 2008.
She was employed as a seamstress by Montgomery Sportswear, retiring in 2001.
Eleanor enjoy her dog, flowers, listening to music with her friends and going to lunch with the girls. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, always telling them "It was made with love".
She is survived by two children, Ann M. and husband Wayne LaForme of Montgomery and Scott L. and wife Cindy Bartlow of Watsontown; two siblings, Eugene "Gene" Umpstead of Montgomery and Robert "Bob" and wife Claudia Umpstead of Texas.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Laura Kitner, Jake LaForme; Misty LaForme; Chad LaForme; Jill Walter; Tony "Rocky" Bartlow; January Bartlow and Lindsay Smith and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Walter E. Bartlow, Jr. and one sister, Shirley Applegate.
Services will be held in the spring for her and her husband. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
