Harriet June Renninger, 89, of 109 Park Place North, Muncy, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.
Born June 2, 1922 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Oscar F. and Ellen (Renn) Steele. On Oct. 29, 1966, she married John H. Renninger, who preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1996 after 29 years of marriage.
June was a graduate of Montgomery High School and a member of the Roland Ritter Post 268 American Legion Auxiliary, Muncy. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, John Franklin (Judy) Smith of Fort Wayne, IN and James L. (Donna) Smith of Manassas, VA; four daughters, Patricia J. (John) Huskin of Williamsport, Sharon L. (Donald) Venturini of The Villages, FL, Mary C. (Dean) Kashner of Bloomsburg and Linda (Ronald) Rhoades of Dublin, CA; one sister, Dorothy Rupert of Watsontown; one stepdaughter-in-law, Barbara Jackson of West Chester; 11 grandchildren, Diana Huskin, Donald Jr. and Kristine Venturini, Jennifer and Jessica Smith, Heather Diehl, Elizabeth Fleurant, Pamela Delaney, Michael Smith, Jackie Viebahn and Michelle Giannini; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one stepson, John H. Renninger, Jr.; one sister, Grace McWilliams, and one brother, Clifford Steele.
A private graveside service will be held in Muncy Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Dr. Donald P. Edwards, pastor of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muncy.

Debra Lee LeVan
Debra Lee LeVan, 50, of 1124 Beacon Light Rd., Muncy, died Friday, July 15, 2011 in BarDeb LeVan Harbor, Maine while on vacation.
Born September 11, 1960 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Helen F. (Felker) Howell of Beavertown and the late Gene S. Howell, who died in 2008. On June 2, 1979 she married Craig D. LeVan. They recently celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Deb was a 1978 graduate of Williamsport High School. She worked at the Old Fort Nursery, Muncy for 9 years.
A love of the outdoors, Deb enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working in her flower beds, campfires and bird watching. She was fond of taking photos, woodworking and crafting. Deb cherished spending time with her family and friends. She also volunteered as a band parent.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are one son and his fiancée, Jeremy R. LeVan and Kaitlyn Schaeffer of Muncy; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Diana Griffin of Muncy and Louise and Steve Zondory of Jersey Shore; her mother-in-law, Arlene LeVan of Williamsport; one sister-in-law, Kathy and her husband Bob Lamey of Avis; two brothers-in-law, Mark and his wife Sandy LeVan of Nesbit and Keith and his wife Pam LeVan of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Deb was predeceased by her father-in-law, Ralph LeVan in 1998, a nephew Mitch LeVan and a great niece, Brittany Helton.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Savits, minister of Newberry Church of Christ, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. A reception will be held after burial in the Picture Rocks Fire Hall, Main Street, Picture Rocks.
The family welcomes flowers; however, if desired, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Brittany Helton Memorial Fund, 714 Chippewa Rd., Muncy, PA 17756.
As per Deb’s wishes those attending the services should dress casual.
Danny M. McCarty, Sr.
(September 7, 1948 - October 27, 2011)
Danny M. McCarty, Sr., 63, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, PA, on Tuesday, September 7, 1948, he was the son of the late Max E. McCarty and Leone M. (Crandell) McCarty who survives him of Milton, PA.
Danny was a 1967 graduate of Lewistown High School. He was employed by MB Companies at Montgomery, PA.
He was a social member of V.F.W. Post 3428 at Muncy and the Men's Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 7227 at Carthage, NY. Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson and his summer trips to New York.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four children, Danny M. and Tanya McCarty, Jr., Carthage, NY; DeAnn and Randy Goeman, Carthage, NY; James McCarty, Montgomery, PA; Jaime and Jason Kichline, Mechanicsburg, PA; six grandchildren, David Snyder; Bradley Goeman; Seth McCarty; Lindsay McCarty; Kaitlyn McCarty; Eli Kichline and one great-grandson, Connor Goeman. In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Michael McCarty, and grandson, Bailey McCarty.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 31, 2011 with Reverend Richard M. Barner, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Lycoming County, PA. William F. Miller
William F. “Pop” Miller, 72, of Muncy, died Friday, August 6, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 23, 1938 in Queens, NY, he was a son of the late William John and Winifred Marie (Wills) Miller. On June 27, 1958, he married the former Dolores C. Dewey. They recently celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Pop was a 1955 graduate of Edison High School, NY. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Pop previously worked for the Brooklyn Gas Company in NY, the George Bakery in Elmhurst and CDF in Montoursville. He retired in 2003 from the former PCM in Picture Rocks where he worked as a truck driver.
A train enthusiast, Pop loved Lionel trains and working on his display in the back yard. He also enjoyed hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are seven sons, Wayne A. and wife Betsi Miller of Washingtonville, Brian M. Miller of Muncy, Larry E. Miller and partner Lee Bundick of Lewes, DE, Timothy J. and companion Jackie Williams of Hughesville, Gerald P. and companion Anita Hess of Danville, Dwight W. and wife Sarah of Muncy and Warren A. and wife Tanya of Muncy; one sister, Patricia Prill of FL; eleven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, eight step great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Ronald Miller, one sister, Janet Alabanesse and one niece, Debra Alabanesse
Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCreary, pastor of the Church of the Resurrection.

Rebecca Elizabeth Sherman
Rebecca Elizabeth Sherman, 95, of Montgomery, died Nov. 14, 2008, at home.
Born Aug. 29, 1913, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Beeber) DeWald.
She was raised on Pepper Street in Muncy and attended the Muncy Normal School. After her marriage to Donald F. Sherman, Sr., on Oct. 19, 1935, she assisted him on their three farms (first in the Elimsport area, then along Route 405 in Montgomery, and later at their Brouse Road farm), all while raising their five children. Their marital union spanned 72 years until his death earlier this year on July 1, 2008.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church and a former member of the Eagle Grange.
Surviving are five children, Liz Heilman of Muncy, Kay (Fred) McCarty of Watsontown, Gail (Gary) Kinney of Trail Creek, Indiana, Donald (Connie) Sherman, Jr., of Muncy and Kathy (Herm) Swartz of Milton; 13 grandchildren, Peggy Batt, Debbie Bierly, John Heilman, David McCarty, Louella Rupert, Gary Kinney, Jr., Robert Kinney, Scott Kinney, Michael Sherman, Melissa Ural, Colleen Swartz, Clinton Swartz and Beth Swartz; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Ann Young; a grandson, Charles Donald Swartz; a great-great-grandson, Nickolas James Beaver; one brother, Boyd DeWald and two sisters, Geraldine Waltman and Jean Wynings.
Friends were received at Grenoble’s, Muncy on Nov. 18, followed by a graveside service in Montoursville Cemetery, officiated by her minister, Pastor Zachary Labagh.
