Joanne L. Landis, 80, formerly of Muncy, passed away peacefully on Friday, JanuaryJoanne Landis 27, 2012 in Hospice at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA. Her husband of 12 years, Dean Landis, passed away in 1966.
Joanne was born February 7, 1931 in Williamsport, the daughter of the late Charles and Rachael (Bingaman) Bussom, and was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Muncy, PA. She attended St. Mary’s High School in Williamsport and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Roland Ritter Post 268 American Legion, Muncy. For the last three years, Joanne enjoyed wonderful company and care at the Moravian Kings Daughter’s Home in Bethlehem, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joanne was predeceased by a daughter, Jane and a granddaughter, Bethann. She is survived by a daughter, Jean and husband James of Bethlehem, PA and a son Michael and wife Julie; grandchildren Larry, Valerie, Emily, Elizabeth, and Sabrina; great-grandchildren Rachael, Shyla, Devin, Matthew, Jeremy and Jorga; sister Margaret Whitby and husband William of Virginia, brothers John Bussom and wife Carol of Muncy, and Nelson Bussom and wife Penny of Picture Rocks, and sister Norma Phoresen and husband Lief of Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy. The family will receive guests at 9:30 before the service. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the non-profit Moravian Kings Daughter’s Home, 61 West Market St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 or the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA 17756.
Robert E. Stevenson
Dr. Robert Edward Stevenson 81 of Hughesville Pa. passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012.
He was born to the late James F and Bertha Stevenson, April 26,1930, in Grove City, Pa. Dr. Stevenson graduated from Grove City High School in 1949, earned a Bachelor of Science from Grove City College in 1953 and his Doctorate of Medicine Degree in 1957 from Temple University.
Dr. Stevenson practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Harrisburg/West Shore Area for over 30 years.
Dr. Stevenson is survived by his wife Kathy Stevenson and three children: Gregory A. Stevenson, of Camp Hill; Peter M. Stevenson, of High Wycombe, England; and Beth Stevenson-Fallows, of Harrisburg. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Dorothy M. Gottschall
Dorothy M. Gottschall, 97, formerly of 239 W. Penn St., Muncy, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born April 11, 1914 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late William and Sylvia (Stryker) Dewalt. Her husband, Arthur R. Gottschall, preceded her in death on January 2, 1999.
Dorothy worked as a secretary for Harold Soars at the former Sprout-Waldron (Koppers) in Muncy, retiring in 1981 after 32 ½ years of service. She was a member of Muncy Baptist Church, and enjoyed baking, quilting and knitting.
Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Roberta “Bobby” Gautsch of Muncy; two stepsons, Kenneth and Leroy Gottschall; three stepdaughters, Shirley Neiderberger, Mary Jane Hummel and Kathleen McCarty, three grandchildren, David Gautsch of Montoursville, Diane (Rob) Stutzman of Greensburg and Linda (Richard) Schnelle of Muncy; three great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, John E. Gautsch; two stepsons, Charles and Robert Gottschall; and two brothers, Boyd and Elmer Dewalt.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Scott Warren. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday.

William B. Stroup
(January 29, 1942 - January 6, 2015)

William B. (Brownie) Stroup, 72, a resident of Muncy, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Montgomery, Lycoming County, PA, on Thursday, January 29, 1942, he was the son of the late William and Sara (Brown) Stroup.
Bill was the widower of Janet M. (Diltz) Stroup who preceded him in death on January 8, 2012.
He was a 1960 graduate of Muncy High School and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Bill was retired from W.A. Dehart, Inc. at New Columbia, PA where he was employed as a deliveryman. He was presently employed by Shafer's Disposal.
Bill was a member of the New Life Church at Pennsdale, PA. He was a member and leader of Boy Scout Troop 70 at Picture Rocks and a member of American Legion Post 268 at Muncy. Bill enjoyed camping, especially with the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by five children, Sherry (George Lightcap) Stroup, Blackwood, NJ; Douglas (Karen) Stroup, Berwick, PA; Eric (Erica) Stroup, Picture Rocks, PA; Richard Stroup, Muncy, PA; Randy Stroup, Muncy, PA; five grandchildren, Chylee Stroup; Sara Stroup; Benjamin Stroup; Lauren Stroup; Timothy Stroup; two brothers, Robert (Linda) Stroup, Troy, Ohio; James (Chris) Stroup, New York, New York.
A memorial service will be conducted from the New Life Church, 1006 Village Road, Pennsdale, PA at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 with Reverend Robert A. Lauver, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 70, Picture Rocks, C/O Mark Hulyo, 408 S. Market Street, Muncy, PA 17756. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA.
Donald C. Dorsett
Donald C. Dorsett, 66, of 421 Wood St., Muncy, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Geisinger-Donald Dorsett Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 28, 1945 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Donald C. and Eva E. (Dixon) Dorsett. He married the former Joyce E. Lewis, on June 26, 1965. Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage.
A 1963 graduate of Loyalsock High School, he attended Lycoming College. Donald was a sergeant in the State Police Montoursville barracks for 27 years retiring in 1995. Following retirement he attended and graduated from Elim Bible Institute.
Donald was a member of the First Christian Church of Montoursville. He was also a member of various local fire departments and a former member of the Lions Club, Muncy.
Donald was always in service to other people and enjoyed being a little league coach and umpire. He was a good bowler and was fond of his dog Ginger.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Megan Dorsett of Rochester, NY; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sunday and Wayne Parfitt of Newport News, VA, Wendy and Todd Colegrove of Churchville, NY and Jonna Dorsett of Muncy; and eight grandchildren, Katie, Donnie, Josiah, Abigail and Benjamin Parfitt, Joel and Joshua Colegrove and Annabelle Dorsett.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Judah Parfitt.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no services.
The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
