Marjorie J. Wallace
(July 14, 1931 - January 3, 2012)

Marjorie J. Wallace, 80, of Main Street, Turbotville, passed away Tuesday, January 03, 2012 at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation where she had been residing the past few months.

Born in Union County on July 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Martha (Smith) Brown, and was raised by the late Clarence A. and Annie L. Hack in rural Turbotville.

She was married to John C. Wallace for 50 years until his death December 11, 2001.

A graduate of Turbotville High School, she had worked at the former Philco/Ford Corp., Watsontown earlier in her life. After her marriage she was a homemaker and foster mother and also cleaned homes for various local families. Later in life she was a driver for the Amish. She enjoyed playing Bingo and delivering sandwiches made as fundraisers for the Allenwood Fire Company and Turbotville Community Hall Corp.

She was a member of the former Turbotville Fire Company auxiliary and former member of the Grange.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda S. and Robert Pearl, McEwensville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Wallace, Turbotville; four grandchildren: Joshua (Lynette) Wallace, Brandon (Tamra) Wallace, Johnny and Kenetha Markle; a step-granddaughter, Juliana Pearl; a brother, Terry Valiquette, Milton; two half-brothers: David Brown, Washingtonville; Terry Brown, Gainesville, FL.; and three sisters: Mary Ellen Rovenolt and Patricia Wolfe, both of Milton; and Sandra Snyder, Lewisburg.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were three sons: David and Joseph Wallace in 1963; Dennis Wallace in 2006; a sister, Laverda Wolfe; and two brothers, Richard Brown and Franklin Finan.

Friends are invited to call from noon to 1:00 PM on Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Michael Reece of Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, Watsontown officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family suggests contributions in her memory be made to the Turbotville Community Hall Corporation, PO Box 313, Turbotville, PA 17772.

Florence M. Schell
(September 9, 1929 - December 25, 2011)

Florence M. Schell, 82, of Main Street, Turbotville passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville where she had been residing the past three months.

Born September 9, 1929 in Madison Twp., Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Grace (Greenly) Mordan. She married Wilbur S. Schell on October 20, 1962 and they celebrated 22 years of marriage until his death in 1985.

Florence graduated from Millville High School in 1947 and from the former Bloomsburg State Teachers College in 1951.

Mrs. Schell taught in Nescopek for four years and retired in 1993 from the Warrior Run School District where she had been an elementary teacher for 37 years.

She was a member of the former Turbotville Civic Club and Thursday Club of Paradise Valley; a member of the Watsontown Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 282; and a charter member of the Turbotville Community Hall Corporation.

She was a 50-year member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville where she had served on the guild.

She enjoyed attending plays, concerts and the opera, was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Berwick Bulldogs fan, and loved times spent with her family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda S. and Michael Berube, a grandson, Drew W. Berube, all of Berwick, and a sister-in-law, Alice Mordan of the Washingtonville area.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were four brothers: Glenn L., Jack L., James M., and Earle H. Mordan.

Friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 11 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Trinity United Church of Christ, Church Street, Turbotville where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Glenn C. Limbaugh, Jr., a retired United Methodist Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to either Trinity United Church of Christ, PO Box 269, Turbotville PA 17772 or the Turbotville Community Hall Corporation, PO Box 313, Turbotville, PA 17772.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home, Turbotville.

D. Elaine Robb
(August 24, 1932 - December 22, 2011)

D. Elaine Robb, 79 of Robb Lane, Turbotville, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born at Muncy Valley Hospital on August 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Irvin R. and Inez (Harmon) Persun. She married Donald Robb on February 24, 1951, and they have celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Elaine was a 1950 graduate of Montgomery High School and certified gemologist. She was retired from Gordon’s Jewelers as assistant manager. Elaine also worked in nursing for 25 years, as well as being the Anthony Township Tax Collector and a Notary Public. She had also worked at Avco Lycoming in the payroll department.

Elaine enjoyed doing crafts and writing family books. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, McEwensville.

In addition to her husband, Donald, Elaine is survived by four daughters and sons-in law, Ruth Ann Appleman and her husband James, Turbotville, Sharon Strimboulis and her husband Robert, Trout Run, Helen Stamm and her husband Earl, Watsontown, and Donna Mordan and her husband Gary, Turbotville; 13 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren.

Preceeding her in death besides her parents was and a daughter, Anna Apple, earlier this year.

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, where the funeral will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Strimboulis, Cogan House Christian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church Cemetery, Montgomery.

The family will provide the flowers.

Nancy S. Landis
(November 13, 1956 - December 17, 2011)

Nancy S. Landis, 55, of Limestone Road, Milton, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born November 13, 1956 in Muncy Valley Hospital, she was the daughter of Myron F. Watson of Turbotville and Helen Y. (Smith) Dimm of Milton. On April 19, 1975 she married Daryl E. Landis and they have celebrated 36 years of marriage.

She graduated from Warrior Run High School in 1974 and graduated in 2008 from Thomas Jefferson University. She was a Registered Nurse at Geisinger Medical Center briefly until her illness made her unable to work. Earlier in life she had worked in Geisinger?s Hand Therapy clinic, was a bus driver for the Warrior Run School District, and had been a dental assistant in Millville.

She also was a devoted homemaker while raising her family and helped her husband on the family farm.

Nancy was a sewing leader for the California 4-H club and enjoyed quilting, baking, knitting and crocheting, and she was an avid reader.

She was an active member of Delaware Run Wesleyan Church where she had served as a lay leader and taught Sunday School. She was also a Bible School teacher for several years.

Surviving besides her parents, and her husband are two sons and a daughter-in-law: Brian A. Landis, Mifflinburg; Shaun R. and Fawn Landis, Watsontown; two daughters and sons-in-law: Darla E. and Randy Hupp, Winfield and Anita L. and Chad Stokes, Lebanon; four grandchildren: Arabelle M. and Oakley S. Landis, Zoe E. Hupp, and Avery B. Stokes; two brothers, Myron L. Watson, Schwenksville; Scott Watson, McEwensville; three sisters: Carol Watson, Turbotville, Faith Sauers, Mooresburg, and Darcy Watson, Danville; and her paternal grandmother, Georgine Watson, Turbotville.

She was preceded in death by a step-father, Thomas W. Dimm.

Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, and from 10 to 11AM Thursday at Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Michael Reece, her pastor, and Ron Geib officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Run Mennonite Cemetery, rural Turbotville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to either Expectations Women's Center 9 North 3rd St PO Box 291 Lewisburg PA 17837 or Good News Club Inc 53 Blue Hill Northumberland, PA 17857.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home, Turbotville.
