Florence H. Keller, 65, of 610 Thomas Ave., died Friday, April 18, 2003, in the Williamsport Hospital following a brief illness. She and her husband, Raymond A. Sr., observed their 42nd wedding anniversary on Nov. 20.
She enjoyed knitting and cooking.
Born on Dec. 31, 1937, in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter of Charles and Kathryn Barnhart Bailey.
Surviving besides her husband, are sons Raymond A. Jr. and Mark W., both of city, LeRoy A. Sr. of Milton, Jesse J. of Lewisburg, David E. at home and Michael A. Bailey of Cogan Station; brothers Dale Bailey of Arizona and William Bailey of Virginia; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., with Pastor Richard D. Gessling, pastor of Evangelical Friends Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Edith Irene Miller
Edith Irene Miller, 53, of 204 Race St., Hughesville, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Thomas Jefferson Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Donald Roy Stever
Donald Roy Stever, 68, of Muncy, entered into eternal rest at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, at his residence.
He was a former resident of Unityville and Fruitland Park, Fla. Mr. Stever was born on April 6, 1935, in New London, Waupaca County, Wis.; the son of the late Henry W. and Martha H. (Stienbach) Stever. On June 20, 1981, he marriage the former Beverly J. Schaeffer; who survives him.
Mr. Stever graduated in 1953 from Washington-New London High School, Wis., and served during the Korean conflict in the Army as a SP3; earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed by the DeGol Aviation Jet Center, Williamsport, and by the Lycoming County Regional Airport, Montoursville, where he did landscaping. While in Florida, Mr. Stever was employed by Parks and Recreation, Lady Lake, Fla., for four years. He had served as the power plant superintendent for 16 years at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove. Donald loved his family and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly, are two step-daughters, Bonnie J. Rager of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sandra L. Swisher and her husband, Dana, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five step-grandsons, Kameron Rager, Brian Swisher, Kourtney Rager, Dustin Swisher and Jeromy Brown; two step-great-grandsons, Mason Swisher and Joshua Rager; and one brother, John W. Stever of Muncy.
Mr. Stever was preceded in death by one brother, James Stever, in infancy, and three sisters, Lorraine Guse, Carla Kleinbrook and Ellen Stever, in infancy.
There will be no viewing and the services will be private at the discretion of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed, in loving memory of Mr. Stever to a charity of the donorís choosing. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Water St., Northumberland.

Thelma I. Miller, 69, formerly of city, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, in the Williamsport Hospital.

Clark W. Bird
Clark W. Bird, a longtime resident of the Millerton community passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 11, 2003, in Millerton at the home of his son, in the loving care of his family, following an illness, at the age of 91.
Clark was born Oct. 28, 1911, in Williamsport, the son of the late John Clayton and Gertrude Zarr Bird. He marriage Vernice Gearhart Sept. 28, 1933. He was employed for many years at the Chemung Foundry as a molder. In service to the Lord, he was a member of the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church of Wellsboro. An avid outdoorsman, Clark enjoyed the relaxation fishing and gardening brought him. He was always ready for the challenge of a good puzzle. A cherished husband, supportive father and grandfather, he treasured his family and was so very grateful to have been under their care through his illness.
Surviving is his loving wife and companion of 68 years, Vernice Gearhart Bird of Millerton, along with their children, Dean and Christine Bird of Port Saint Joe, Fla., Robert and Janice Bird of Gillett, Trudy and Duane White of Lawrenceville, George and Jean Bird of Millerton and Larry and Wendy Bird of Millerton; 38 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many caring friends. Clark was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sandra Decker in 1980.
Family and friends will be received at Caywood’s Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport, N.Y., Sunday, April 13, 2003, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again from 10 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will follow the visitation at noon Monday, with the Pastor Michael Bernard of the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Committal services will follow at the Bird Family Plot of Twin Hill Memorial Park, Muncy. Memorial donations may be directed to the Pathfinders Youth Ministry of the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist, P.O. Box 309 Wellsboro, PA 16901 in Clarks memory.
Samuel R. Hamman Jr.
Samuel R. Hamman Jr., 71, of 784 Huling Road, Linden, died at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2003. Born July 11, 1931, in Linden, he was a son of Samuel and Martha Hamman.
He was an Air Force veteran and retired from Jersey Shore Steel. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, flea markets and yard sales.
Surviving are four children, Larry R. and Fred L., both of city, Sam R. Jr. of Linden and Mary A. Schell of Cogan Station, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Jerry.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Robert G. Wallace officiating.
Rita A. Border
Rita A. Border, 76, of Williamsport, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at her home after an extended illness. She was the wife of Eugene E. Border. They were marriage on Sept. 18, 1947.
She was born on Nov. 4 1926, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Jerry and Theresa (Casale) Cioffi. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. Earlier in life she was very active in the Williamsport School District and was past president of the Lose Elementary School PTA. She was also a Grade Mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Eugene E. and Susan Border Jr. of Williamsport and Mark F. Border of Maple Glen, Pa.; two grandchildren, Sarah E. and Scott E. Border of Williamsport; two sisters, Lillian Stopper of Montoursville and Adeline Curchoe of Williamsport; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Cioffi.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 635 Hepburn St. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers.
Harry William Weller
Harry William Weller, M.D., 74, of State College, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at his residence.
Born Oct. 24, 1928, in Girardville, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Lillian Edwards Weller. On April 29, 1950, he marriage Jean Hofer, who survives at home.
He graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1946, received a B.S. in pre-med from Penn State University in 1950, a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in 1954 and a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins University in 1968. He retired in 1982 after 27 years as a physician with the U.S. Public Health Service. During his 27 years with USPHS he also worked with the Peace Corps for 2 years and with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 17 years. He worked for Penn State University as a team physician for intercollegiate athletics.
He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, a master mason in the Benjamin B. French Lodge #15, Grand Lodge, F.A.A.M of the District of Columbia, Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of the Valley of Williamsport, American College of Sports Medicine, Commissioned Officers Association of U.S. Public Health Service, Nittany Lion Club, Penn State Alumni Association, American Academy of Physicians, American Medical Association, Senior Physician Group, Penn State Football Letterman’s Club, Eberly College of Science and the Military Officers Association of America.
He loved his family and grandchildren. He also served in various capacities with the church. He supported a wide range of men’s and women’s sporting events at Penn State University.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bill Weller and his wife, Nancy, of Saratoga, Calif., Tom Weller and his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Katherine Weller of Flower Mound, Texas, and Bob Weller and his wife, Karen, and their children, Doug, Melissa and Jeff Weller of Fort Worth, Texas.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Faith United Church of Christ with the Rev. Ann N. Graves officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery, Muncy, Pa., at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
