LEWISTOWN - Barbara E. Fultz, 59, of 179 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Ohesson Manor. Born March 3, 1942, in Oliver Township, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Alma (Powell) Winn. Her husband, Rush H. Fultz Jr., whom she married Aug. 23, 1958, survives. Also surviving are: children, Randy L. Fultz, Mrs. Charles (Karen) Smyrk III and Mrs. Joseph (Michelle) Lyter, all of Lewistown; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Elliott, Mifflintown, Harriett Crosson, Lewistown RR5, Ret. Major Richard Winn, Bel Air, MD, William Winn, Burnham and Larry Winn, Yeagertown; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Winn. She was a homemaker and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. A Christian Wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. MILROY - Cecil O. B. Fultz, 77, of 157 Broad St., Milroy, formerly of Spring Mills, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his residence. Born Aug. 2, 1923, in Milroy, he was the son of the late William David and Minnie Mae (Walter) Fultz. His wife, Betty J. (Nearhood) Fultz, died Aug. 18, 1991. Surviving are: children, Dennis L. Fultz, Easthampton, NJ, Mrs. Gary (Sandra Louise) Beaver and Mrs. Stanley (Patricia Lee) Weaver, both of Milroy, Mrs. Curtis (Lucinda Vicky) Geib, Elizabethtown, Mrs. Wade (Melissa Lynn) Wolfe, Centre Hall, and Mrs. Michael (Christina Denise) Eckenroth, Port Matilda; brothers, Blair S. L. Fultz, Milroy and Paul E. J. Fultz, Spring Mills; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Cecil Fultz in 1948. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He had been part owner of C & P Equipment, Spring Mills and earlier in life, he had worked for Aumiller's Sales & Service, Milroy. He was a member of Lockes Banks Evangelical Methodist Church, Milroy. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. William Herrick officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
REEDSVILLE - Charles A. Fultz, 86, of 195 Dutchess St., Reedsville, died at 10:08 a.m, Sunday, August 19, 2001 at his residence. Born Dec. 22, 1914 in Belleville, he was the son of the late Jacob and Elsie (Rupert) Fultz. His wife, Maxine H. (Crownover) Fultz, died on March 26, 1982. He is survived by a son, Roy C. Fultz; a daughter, Shirley F. Stanbaugh, Haddon Township, NJ; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was employed at American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown, and retired from the Mifflin County School District where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville with the Rev. Dean Bobb officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at the Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
MILROY - Grace E. Fultz, 81, of 30 Bush St., Milroy, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at Hershey Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late James H. and Minnie (Snyder) Specht. Her husband, Nicholas Ellsworth Fultz, preceded her in death on July 7, 1977. Surviving are: children, Nicholas E. Fultz Jr., Mifflinburg, Nancy Hannon, Milroy, and Bette L. Moore, Lewistown; a sister, Mildred Wagner, Reedsville; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, John Specht, Charles Specht, Harry Specht, Samuel Specht, James Specht and Franklin Specht, a sister, Edna Bishop, and a grandson, Dennis S. Moore. She was a member of Reedsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and enjoyed camping and crocheting. Her service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Guy R. Hockenberry officiating. Interment is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
BURNHAM - Janet F. Fultz, 67, of 419 S. Walnut St., Burnham, died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2001, at her residence. Born Sept. 2, 1933, in Belltown, she was a daughter of Dorothy (Firth) Snook of 417 S. Walnut St., Burnham and the late Walter O. Snook. Her husband, Charles J. Fultz, whom she married July 26, 1952, survives. Also surviving are: children, Charles O. Fultz, Jasper, Fla., William R. Fultz and S. Ryan Fultz, both of Lewistown, and Mrs. Adam (D. Rennee) Myers, Thurmont, Md. and 11 grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Derry Township High School, Yeagertown. She worked as a cook at Stop 35, Mifflintown, retiring in 1989, due to disability. She was a member of Burnham Presbyterian Church, where she was a past deacon and trustee. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Burnham Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Robert Zorn officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Cancer Center, 100 Academy Hill, Danville, PA 17822. Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, is in charge of arrangements.
HUNTINGDON - Melvin J. "Mel" Fultz, 61, of Huntingdon RD2, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 3, 1939 in Derry Township, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Milton and Mae (Rhea) Fultz. Surviving are: brothers and sisters, William Fultz, Lewistown RD2, Ronald Fultz and David L. Fultz, both of Milroy, and Mrs. Max (Frances) Hampton and Darwin G. Fultz, both of Granville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley A. Hampton. He was a laborer with 20 years of service with the Fay L. Wagner Tire Company, Yeagertown. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Bldg. D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601. The Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
MCVEYTOWN - Robert Jay Fultz, 86, of 4920 SR 103 South, McVeytown, died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born Nov. 13, 1914, in Milroy, he was the son of the late Albert O. and Emma A. (Worral) Fultz. His wife, Martha M. (Goss) Fultz, whom he married in June 1942, survives. Also surviving are: children, Anita Davies, Florida and Randall L. Fultz, McClure; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Bert Bowen officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy. Friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
MCVEYTOWN - Vada Mae Fultz, 78, of Wakefield Road, McVeytown, died at 7:17 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001 at Lewistown Hospital. Born Feb. 7, 1923, in Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Margaret E. (Hess) Traxler. Her husband, Harry J. "Ted" Fultz, whom she married Aug. 14, 1941, died March 12, 1980. Surviving are: children, Herbert J. "Dick" Fultz and his wife, Brenda L. (Runk) Fultz, Lewistown, Mrs. Stephen (Margaret J.) Arnold, Mifflintown, Clyde S. Fultz and his wife, Lonna (Arnold) Fultz, Mifflintown, Melvin P. Fultz and his wife, Mary Jane (Varner) Fultz, Lewistown, Mrs. Robert L. (Donna K.) Goss, McVeytown, Mrs. Arthur (Connie M.) Goodling, Liverpool, and Rick Fultz and his wife, Cindy (White) Fultz, McVeytown; a sister, Ruth Holland, Shade Gap; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Miller, Betty McMullen and Faye Shehan; a brother, Paul Traxler; and a granddaughter, Sherry Moser. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ferguson Valley Brethren in Christ Church, with Pastor Kenneth Grove officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.
