BEAVERTOWN - Arla A. Bilger, 80, a resident of Loving Care Nursing Home, Selinsgrove, formerly of Beavertown RR1, died at 12:03 a.m. Sunday, July 2, 2000, at Sunbury Community Hospital. Born Sept. 12, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Reid and Mary (Ettinger) Keister. Her husband, Frank F. Bilger, whom she married July 12, 1941, survives. Also surviving are: children, Beatrice B. Hackenberg, Middleburg, Mary L. Keister, Kissimee, Christine L. Thomas, Middleburg RR3, and Neil O. Bilger, Loving Care Nursing Home; a brother, Eugene Keister, Millmont; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilmer Reich, Arthur Keister, and Alfred, in infancy. Prior to marriage, she worked at the former Sterling Silk Mill and devoted the majority of her life to raising her disabled son. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Troxelville, and she loved animals, gardening, and flowers, especially African violets. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grace United Church of Christ, with Pastor Nancy Moyer officiating. Interment will be in the Troxelville Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: Grace United Church of Christ, Troxelville, PA 17882.
MOUNT UNION - George J. Bilger, 52, of 35 Quick Lane, Mount Union, died at 7:13 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in the emergency room of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born May 14, 1948, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Norman and Ruth (Linn) Bilger of Mount Union. His wife, Diane (Parson) Bilger, whom he married June 14, 1969, survives. Also surviving are: three children, Tammie J. Grove and Norman T. Bilger, both of Mount Union and George B. Bilger, McVeytown RR; brother and sisters, Norma Stake, Mount Union, Connie Heidel, Linda Shawver, and Thomas Bilger, all of Mount Union RR; and two granddaughters. He was a 1966 graduate of Captain Jack High School. He was an assembler at Ford New Holland, Belleville for 24 years. He was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church, Mount Union RR. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dayton Sines officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RR1. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
MILTON, Del. - William E. Bingaman, 74, of Milton, Del., formerly of York and Beaver Springs, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at his son's residence in Red Lion. Born Jan. 14, 1926, in Beaver Springs, he was a son of the late J. Franklin and Esther E. (Brannan) Bingaman. His wife of 47 years, Patricia E. (Edmiston) Bingaman, survives. Also surviving are: sons, Elwood Bingaman and Spurgeon Bingaman, both of Red Lion; a brother, J. Willard Bingaman, Daytona, Fla.; and one granddaughter. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, having served in Guam. He retired as a heat treat operator from Caterpillar Inc., York after 18 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 5640, Middleburg, and a former member of the Red Lion Legion Post. Following cremation, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be private in the McClure Union Cemetery, McClure. There will be no viewing. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 218 E. Market St., York, PA 17403. Arrangements were handled by the Cremation Direct Service of the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York.
YEAGERTOWN - Dennis R. Bingman, 58, of 330 S. Main St., Yeagertown, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born Nov. 19, 1941, in Lewistown, he was the son of Mary A. (Harpster) Bingman of 311 Fourth St., Burnham and the late Bert R. Bingman. His wife, Susan (Norman) Bingman, whom he married Sept. 24, 1966, survives. Also surviving are: children, Michael L. Bingman, 328 S. Main St., Yeagertown and Allen H. Bingman, 204 S. Beech St., Burnham; a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Shirley) Brown, 131 Stine Drive, Lewistown; two granddaughters and two step-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Bingman in 1967. He was a 1959 graduate of Chief Logan High School. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Unit from 1959-1962. He worked as a mechanic in Machine Shop I at Standard Steel, Burnham from 1966 to the present. He was a member of the Alfarata Lutheran Church; Lewistown Moose Lodge 143; VFW Post 7011, Lewistown; Brooklyn Hose Company; and United Steelworkers of America 1940. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Donald P. Goss officiating. Interment will be in the Little Valley Presbyterian Cemetery in Vira. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home. BEAVERTOWN - Jeanette G. Bingman, 74, of Beavertown died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, where she had been a patient for the past week and in ill health for the past four years. Born March 4, 1926, in Beavertown, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mertie (Hommel) Hackenberg. She was preceded in death July 29, 1996 by her husband, David J. Bingman, whom she married July 20, 1946. Surviving are: a daughter, Cindy L. Aitkins, Beavertown; a son, Rodney D. Bingman, Beavertown RR1; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Henry, and two brothers, Charles and Curtis Hackenberg. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Beavertown and the Pollyanna Sunday School class. In 1990, she retired from the Middleswarth Chip Plant, Middleburg with more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ by the Rev. Edward Henry and Alan Foor. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Monday at the Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. RICHFIELD - Eleanor M. "Curly" Blueford, 73, of Richfield RR1, died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Beale Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Coder) Reisinger. She is survived by children, Floyd C. Sheets Jr. and Sandra M. Snyder, both of Richfield RR1; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Reisinger, Shippensburg, Vance Reisinger, Carlisle, Judith Feidler, Tennessee, and Jesse Spasaff, Millerstown; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Reisinger and James Reisinger. She was a 1944 graduate of Juniata Joint High School and a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nook. She retired as an aide from the Selinsgrove State School. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. James A. Neimond officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nook. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
LEWISTOWN - Kathy S. Blystone, 39, of 10 Sunflower Lane, Lewistown, died at 9:14 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 17, 1961, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Ronald and Sandy (Smoker) Pannebaker, Milroy. Her husband, Michael D. Blystone Sr., whom she married Dec. 30, 1978, survives. Also surviving are: children, Michael D. Blystone Jr. and Richard Allen Blystone, both at home; brothers and sisters, Debra Decker, Milroy, Brett Pannebaker, Reedsville, Ronald Pannebaker Jr., Mesquite, Texas, and twins, Mrs. Michael (Sandi) Fultz, Belleville, and Mrs. Rick (Kandi) Goss, Milroy; and a maternal grandmother, Hilda M. Smoker, Huntingdon. She attended Reedsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She was a member of the Brooklyn Fire Company and the Owls Club, Lewistown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home with Pastor Albert Gray officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
LEWISTOWN - Dolores G. Bobb, 71, of 4882 SR 103N, Lewistown, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at the Lewistown Hospital. Born Feb. 5, 1929, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Beulah (Logan) Woomer. Her husband, Lester C. Bobb Jr., whom she married Jan. 3, 1948, survives. Also surviving are sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Goss, Harrisburg, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Beaver, Milton, and Mrs. Harold (Peggy) Leach, Thompsontown. Early in life, she worked as a waitress at the Coleman Hotel, Lewistown. She also was employed as a production employee at Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory, Lewistown; at the Letterman Bakery, Lewistown; and as a counter server at Montgomery Wards, Baltimore, Md. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
