BLAIR MILLS - Russell C. Parson, 89, of Route 1, Blairs Mills, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his home. Born Sept. 11, 1911, in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Harper and Faye (Hockenberry) Parson. His wife, Evelyn E. (Burd) Parson, whom he married Nov. 25, 1933, survives. Also surviving are: children, Catherine F. Wyant, Route 1, Blairs Mills and Carl W. Parson, Honey Grove; sisters, Hilda Gibbons and Thelma Johnson, both of Blairs Mills RR and Dolly Love, East Waterford; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Towsey and five brothers. He was a farmer for most of his life. He was a member of the Nossville United Methodist Church, Blairs Mills RR and the Blairs Mills Sportsman's Association. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be in Nossville Cemetery, Blairs Mills RR. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
BELLEVILLE - Baby Boy Peachey, infant son of Norman I. and Sadie A. (Byler) Peachey of 3079 Front Mountain Road, Belleville, was stillborn at 8:24 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2001, at home. Also surviving are: brothers and sisters, Israel E., Salinda M., Lois S., and Sylvia B. Peachey, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman E. Byler, Belleville; maternal great-grandmother, Sadie Byler, Belleville; paternal grandparents, Jacob J. and Katie M. Peachey, Belleville; and paternal great-grandmother, Annie L. Peachey, Belleville. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Belleville, with minister David J. Peachey officiating. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, was in charge of arrangements.
GOSHEN, Ind. - Eldon "Flick" Peachey, 67, of Goshen, Ind., died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Goshen, Ind. Born Sept. 17, 1933, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Christian P. and Ruth (King) Peachey. He is survived by four children, Mrs. Gregg (Sally) Carpenter and Stan Peachey, both of Goshen, Ind., Mrs. Jack (Brenda) Watson, Bristol, Ind. and Doug Peachey, Jeffersonville, Ind.; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Donald (Sara) Graybill, Mifflintown, Mrs. Crist (Grace) Kurtz, Mifflinburg, Ruth Peachey and Marlin W. Peachey, both of Belleville and Sheldon W. Peachey, Union, Mo. He was preceded in death by a son, Eldon Dale in December 1960 and one brother, Mark Peachey. He had worked in a trailer factory and after retiring, he transported the Amish. Services were held at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, Ind., with Mel Shetler officiating. Interment was in Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen, Ind.
LEWISTOWN - Elsie B. Peachey, 89, of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, formerly of 289 Applehouse Road, Belleville, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at the manor. Born Jan. 3, 1912, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Gideon and Nancy (Yoder) Glick. Her husband, Roy I. Peachey, whom she married May 10, 1934, died Dec. 9, 1999. Surviving are: children, Mrs. Raymond J. (Arlene) Byler, Mrs. Lee (Marjorie) Laughlin, and R. Robert Peachey, all of Belleville; brother and sister, Elam Glick and Alma Yoder, both of Belleville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Sylvanus Glick, Jesse Glick, and Cora Byler. She owned and operated a restaurant at the sale barn from 1967-1987. Following that, she served meals at her home. She was a member of the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and belonged to the Farm City Vacation Program. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, with ministers Max Zook, Mayard Beitzel and Erie Renno officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to: Locust Grove Mennonite Church, 3358 W. BELLEVILLE - Jacob J. Peachey, 97, of 705 Front Mountain Road, Belleville, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his home. Born in Belleville, he was the son of the late Reuben K. and Nancy K. (Sharp) Peachey. A service will be held at noon Saturday at the home of Ezra J. Swarey, Belleville. Interment will be in Allensville Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 1 p.m. on at Peachey's residence.
BELLEVILLE - Jacob John Peachey, infant son of David R. and Katie C. (Kanagy) Peachey of 3520 E. Back Mountain Road, Belleville, died at 1:15 p.m. (one half hour after he was born at 12:45 p.m.) Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at his residence. Also surviving are: sister and brothers, Martha M. Peachey, Daniel R. Peachey and Thomas A. Peachey, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Sam M. Kanagy, Mill Creek; maternal great-grandfather, Abram Peachey, Rockville, IN; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan R. Peachey, Belleville; and paternal great-grandmother, Salina Peachey, Belleville. He was a member of the Old Order Amish. Services will be held at 9 a.m. today at the decedent's home at 3520 E. Back Mountain Road, Belleville, with minister Louie D. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Whitehall Amish Cemetery, Belleville. Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, is in charge of arrangements.
BELLEVILLE - Leah R. Peachey, 86, of 105 Sisters Lane, Belleville, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at her home. Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Belleville RR, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Y. and Fannie R. (Renno) Peachey. She is survived by sisters, Linda E. Peachey and Elsie M. Peachey, both of 105 Sisters Lane, Belleville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron J. Peachey and an infant brother. Earlier in life, she was employed in the processing department and the bakery of A.J. Peachey's. She was a member of Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville. Her service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Valley View Amish Mennonite Church, Belleville, with Bishop Eli B. King and ministers, Daniel N. King, David S. King and Earl D. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Green Lane Cemetery. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, is in charge of arrangements.
BELLEVILLE - Leonard L. Peachey, 84, of 294 Trella St., Belleville, died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, at his residence. Born May 11, 1916, in Greenwood, DE, he was a son of the late Ezra J. and Ella Mae (Stoltzfus) Peachey. His wife Mollie V. (Hartzler) Peachey, whom he married May 1, 1938, survives, residing at 294 Trella St., Belleville. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. John (Alta) Auker, Thompsontown, Mrs. Jesse Lee (Ann) Peachey, Belleville, Sara D. Peachey, Fayetteville, Mrs. Orlyn (Dianne) Saner, McAlisterville and Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Turnbull, Spokane, WA; a brother, Ezra J. Peachey; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Peachey, Merle Peachey and Norman Peachey, and by sisters, Thelma Byler and Viola Scheffel. He was a farmer in Juniata County, retiring in 1963. He then worked at New Holland and Burnham Hardware, and as a custodian at Valley View Haven Nursing Home and at Union Elementary School, Belleville. Most recently he was employed at Kauffman Farm Supply in Belleville. He was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, where he was a member of the senior men's Sunday school class. He also formerly taught Sunday school at another church. He had served as an EMT with Big Valley Ambulance Club. His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Locust Grove Mennonite Church, Belleville, with Max Zook, Erie Renno, Maynard Beitzel and Gregg Kanagy officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 6:30-9 p.m. Sunday at the Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, and from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to HOSPICE: The Bridge, 1126 W.
