Born April 29, 1920, in Briggsville, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Marie (Sitler) Brown. His wife, Leanna Mae (Rinehimer) Brown, whom he married Oct 24, 1942, survives.
Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Gary (Rebecca) Steiner and Lucinda Steiner, both of Northumberland, and Mrs. Todd (Kathleen) Kinney, Mifflin; brothers and sisters, Alvin Brown, Berwick, Earl Brown, Hagerstown, Md., Clark Brown and Richard Brown, both of Nescopeck RR1, Mrs. John (Jeanette) Richart, Hocksessen, Del., and Mrs. David (Elaine) Yeager, Sugarloaf; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Karchner.
He was a 1937 graduate of Nescopeck High School and attended classes at Penn State for dairy cattle breeding and ice cream.
He worked as an ice cream maker for Farmers Cooperative Dairy, Hazleton, Weis Markets, and then went on to be plant manager of Golden Quality Dairy, Plymouth.
He then became self-employed as a DeKalb Seed representative, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Nescopeck.
He was a member of Knapp Lodge 462 F&AM, Berwick, and the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and hunting.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, 1024 Market St., Berwick, with the Rev. Jeffrey W. Odgren officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where masonic services will be conducted by Knapp Lodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Box 335, Nescopeck, PA 19635 or to the charity of one's choice.
E. Porter Brown
Born Sept. 19, 1913, in Brady Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Fred W. and Margaret E. (Metz) Brown. His wife, Marian Metz, preceded him in death Oct. 18, 1983.
Surviving are: sister, Marian Kinderman, Woodstock, Va.; children, Richard M. Brown, Lebanon, Robert L. Brown, New Orleans, La., Fred R. Brown, Mill Creek and Thomas P. Brown, Annapolis, Md.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna E. Brown.
He retired as a farmer in 1978. He was a trucker for livestock and milk.
He was a member of the Allensville Presbyterian Church, where he was involved in the adult Sunday School class and served as an elder, trustee and church treasurer.
He was a member of the Allensville Lions Club, Big Valley Grange and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association.
He served on the Brady Township School Board as president, then the school jointure of Brady and Henderson townships and Mill Creek Borough. Later he was involved with the Huntingdon Area School District.
He was involved with the construction of the elementary school and with the Huntingdon Area High School. He served on the school board from 1945 through 1969, while his sons attended high school. He helped to present diplomas to his sons.
He was concerned about education and played an important role in his sons' education at Penn State University.
He played baseball and soccer in high school and as a young man.
He served as a Republican Committee member.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 10, at the Allensville Presbyterian Church, Allensville, with the Rev. Buddy Baird officiating.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville.
Interment will be in the Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.

Ronald J. 'Brownie' Brown
Born Oct. 4, 1935, in Bellefonte, he was the son of Thelma (Brungart) Brown McClellan of State College and the late Paul E. Brown. His wife, Betty Hagan Brown, whom he married June 6, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Douglas J. Brown, Alexandria, Va., Brian S. Brown, Kingston, and Mrs. James A. (Vicki) Smith Jr., Reedsville; sister and brother, Marie Goss, Gilbert, Ariz. and L. Edwin Brown, St. Augustine, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Brown.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a master sergeant in 1977.
He then served as a mail carrier for the Lewistown Post Office for 18 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the recovery crew for the Gliders Soaring Club at the Mifflin County Airport and enjoyed woodworking.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Larry K. Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
There will be no public viewing, but family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Family will provide all flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Samuel C. Brown
Born Dec. 11, 1915, in Saltilla, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Samuel and Louise (Hershey) Brown. His wife, Ethel G. (Whitsel) Brown, whom he married Dec. 31, 1938, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Donald V. Brown, Spanaway, Washington, Samuel H. Brown, Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Charles (Rosene E.) Harshbarger and Timothy C. Brown, both of Lewistown RD2, Mrs. Ronald (Bernadette S.) Heister, Route 103 South, McVeytown, and Randall L. Brown, Mapleton Depot RD1; brother, Vincent Brown, Three Springs; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pauline Brown; a brother, Velve Brown; and three sisters, Dorothy Thomas, Edna Crano and Susie Hoffman.
He was employed at East Broad Top Railroad, Orbisonia, and Harveson Walker Stone Quarry, Mount Union. He was also employed as a boiler technician for 13 years at the American Viscose Corp., retiring in 1972. He later worked for J.M. Young and Sons, Belleville, and was custodian for Allison School, Fairbanks, Alaska.
He was a member of Pine Glen Church of the Brethren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pine Glen Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Myers Kimmel officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

Sue G. Brown
Born Feb. 3, 1912, in Everett, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Sipe) Haas. Her husband, Joe N. Brown, died June 24, 1998.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Elsworth Haas, and four sisters, Beatrice Trail, Greta Baker, Fay May and Dorothy Cornelius.
She was a homemaker and, early in life, she worked at the American Viscose.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Do Your Bit Sunday School Class.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Richard W. Swartz officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Adalene E. Brubaker
Born Dec. 11, 1918, in Walker Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Ira N. and Esther E. (Kauffman) Brubaker.
Surviving are: two daughters, Betty Lou Dunn, McAlisterville RR1, and Vonnie Jean McMurry, Polk City, Fla.; a son, Barry N. Dressler, McAlisterville RR2; a brother, Donald Dressler, Camp Hill; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Dressler, and a sister, Freda Crawford.
She had been a seamstress for many years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Lewistown, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating. Interment will be in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gladys B. Dillman Brubaker
Born March 3, 1915, in Turbett Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Lizzie (Amey) Leister. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Dillman and her second husband, Walter Brubaker.
Surviving are: a son, Donald C. Dillman, Port Royal RR3 and a sister, Mary Basom, Millerstown.
She was a seamstress, retiring from Rae-Sel Corporation, Port royal.
She was a member of the Tuscarora Church of the Brethren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 South Third Street, Mifflintown, with the Pastor Archie A. Chappell Jr. officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Friends may call from 1 p.m until the time of the services today at the funeral home.

Leroy Samuel Brubaker
Born Aug. 31, 1931, in Mifflintown, he was a son of the late Samuel and Sara (Dysinger) Brubaker. His wife, Frances Brubaker of 1321 Fourth St., Neptune Beach, Fla., survives.
Also surviving are: children, Susan Michelle Butensky, Neptune Beach, Fla., and Leroy Stephen Brubaker, Ponte Vedra, Fla.; a sister, Mary Ann Burkholder, Lewistown; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1949.
He was a retired Jacksonville Beach police officer and was awarded the Law Officer of the Year in 1970 from the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. Earlier in life, he farmed in the Mifflintown area.
He was an active member of Beaches United Methodist Church and an avid volunteer. He donated his time to the Neptune Beach Elementary School and was a 23-gallon blood donor.
Services were held at Beaches United Methodist Church and interment was in Warren Smith Cemetery in Jacksonville Beach, Fla.
Beaches Funeral Home, 3600 Third St. South, Jacksonville Beach, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
