Born April 7, 1922, in Port Royal, she was a daughter of the late Evard and Ida (Kepner) Meloy. Her first husband, Paul P. Williams, died April 23, 1960. Her second husband of 37 years, Walter W. Eichenberger of Port Royal and 2615 W. 10th St., Erie, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Theresa Eichenberger, Glenside; a son, William Eichenberger, Kauai, Hawaii; and one grandchild.
She was a graduate of Port Royal High School and Polyclinic Hospital Nursing School, Harrisburg.
She was a registered nurse.
She was a former member of Port Royal Presbyterian Church and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Erie.
She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed dogs, boating, traveling and hunting.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Thomas Marickovic and the Rev. John Rocco officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18 at Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with the Rev. Richard E. Wright and Ted Kepner officiating.
There will be no viewing.
Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, is in charge of local arrangements.
Chester W. 'Chet' Eicker
Born May 21, 1925, in Mifflin, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Chester H. and Thelma E. (Wright) Eicker. His wife, Vivian M. (McNemar) Eicker, whom he married June 8, 1947, survives.
Also surviving are: sons, Gary L. Eicker, Everett, Douglas J. Eicker, Lewistown, Darrell C. Eicker, Port Royal; daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Debra) Phillips, Honey Grove, Karen E. Diven, Port Royal, Ann L. Carrier, Mifflintown; sister, Alice L. Elder, Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 298, Mifflintown, and a life member of the Juniata County Sportsmen's Association.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and listening to big band music.
He retired with 33 years of service from the Wheel Rolling Mill of Standard Steel, Burnham.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at the Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown RR4, where full military burial honors will be conducted by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 9 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown, Pa. 17044.
Alice L. Elder
Born Jan. 19, 1924, in Mifflin, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Chester H. and Thelma E. (Wright) Eicker. Her husband James W. Elder, died Nov. 14, 1954.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Stanley "Pete" (Jamesina) Worrall, Mifflintown RR5; a son, Chet H. Elder, Bethany Beach, Del.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Chester W. Eicker, on Aug. 12, 1999.
She retired in 1972 with 20 years of service as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Harrisburg.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin, and Sunday School Class No. 11 of the church. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown RR4.
Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Allen J. Elder
Born Sept. 25, 1963, in Lewistown, he was a son of Levina M. (Leigey) Elder of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, and the late Alfred J. Elder.
Surviving are: brothers and sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Devera) Worthy of Huntingdon, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Reichenbach, Alisa Vargas, and Mary Jo Elder, all of Lewistown, Della Elder of McVeytown, Alice Palm of Mifflintown, and Alfred J. Elder of Yeagertown.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Elder.
He worked as a dry waller and a waiter.
He was Catholic by faith.
Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is in charge of arrangements.
Lee Roy Ellis
His wife, Jean (Lutz) Ellis, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Richard Ughetto, Newport, Lee Ellis III, Newport, and Jerle Wilson, Wake Forest, N.C., and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, Va.

Rhea Ellen Ellis
Rhea Ellen Ellis, 87, of Palm Harbor, Fla., died April 8, 1999, in Clearwater, Fla. She was born June 21, 1911, in Mifflintown. She was a daughter of the late William and Sarah (Kauffman) Ellis.
She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Washington, D.C.
Surviving are many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mary (Ellis) Lynch, 90, of Winchester, Va., died Dec. 16, 1998. She was born April 8, 1908, in Mifflintown.
She worked in the real estate business and was instrumental in the early land development of Reston, Va. She later managed apartment units in Reston.
She was a past-president of the American Property Managers Association.
Surviving are a son, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown, is in charge of the arrangements.
Dora L. Elsasser
Born Aug. 3, 1910, in McAlisterville, she was a daughter of the late Banks and Celia (Strawser) Naylor. Her husband, Robert W. Elsasser, died March 15, 1982.
Surviving are: sons, Kenneth R. Elsasser, McAlisterville RR1, and Donald "Dutch" E. Elsasser, Mifflintown RR1; sisters, Dorothy Arnold, Edna Arnold, Althea Smith, and Evelyn Varner, all of McAlisterville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph W. Elsasser; and brother and sisters, Robert B. Naylor, Florence Graybill, Jenny Ehrenzellers and Elsie Stroup.
She attended Stoney Run Grammar School, McAlisterville.
She was a lifelong member of Brown's United Methodist Church, McAlisterville RR2, the Golden Circle Sunday School class and the Methodist Women's Auxiliary.
She worked as a seamstress in the Richfield Shirt Factory and did seasonal work in McAlisterville Cannery. Later, she assisted her husband in their dairy operation and in the operation of R.W. Elsasser Poultry Farm and Hatchery, McAlisterville.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Brown's United Methodist Church, McAlisterville RR2, with the Rev. Ronald E. Landis officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery in Cocolamus.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m.

Bentley I. English
Born Dec. 27, 1921, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Russell English and Clara (Garner) English Stewart. His wife, Marilynn (Roach) English, whom he married Nov. 15, 1942, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. James (Rebecca) Leiter, Mifflintown, David I. English, Troy, N.Y., and Mrs. David (Deborah) McHugh, State College; and two grandchildren.
He was the last of his immediate family.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, having served as a 1st Lieutenant in the European Theatre. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He was division manager for Penn Fuel Gas Company Inc., Western Division for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, Huntingdon VFW Post, Huntingdon Elks Lodge, and Huntingdon American Legion.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
There will be no public viewing but family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Family will provide all funeral flowers and memorial contributions may be made to: the Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 S. Logan St., Reedsville, PA 17084.

MIFFLINTOWN - Chester W. "Chet" Eicker, 74, of Mifflintown RR4 died at 8:05 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.
MIFFLINTOWN - Alice L. Elder, 75, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, formerly of Mifflintown RR3 (Rockville), died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at the nursing home.
HARRISBURG - Allen J. Elder, 36, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Mifflin County, died of natural causes Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at his home.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Lee Roy Ellis, 65, of Fredericksburg, Va., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999, at Mary Washington Hospital.

REEDSVILLE - Bentley I. English, 78, of 170 N. Main St., Reedsville, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Valley View Haven, Belleville.
