Lida B. Dillman Foose
LEWISTOWN - Lida B. Dillman Foose, 87, of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown, and formerly of Mifflintown RR2, died at 5:18 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at the home.

Born Dec. 24, 1911, in Seville, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Ann (Fritz) Fuller. Her husband, Harry B. Dillman, died May 9, 1943.

Surviving are: sons and daughters, Martin L. Dillman, Mount Pleasant Mills, Guy P. Dillman, Mifflintown RR1, Harry W. Dillman, Athens, N.Y., Kenneth L. Foose, Mifflintown, Preston G. Fosselman, McAlisterville, Betty Notestine, Harrisburg, and Barbara Rotz, Orrstown; a sister, Margaret Hoffman, Thompsontown; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

She worked on the railroad during World War II. Later, she was a cook for Zimmies Diner, Mifflintown, and the Mifflintown American Legion.

She attended Grace Covenant Church, Thompsontown RR2.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Glen R. Peachey officiating. Interment will be in Buffalo Cemetery, Seville Township, Perry County.

Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Geraldine B. Ford
MIFFLIN - Geraldine B. Ford, 80, of Licking Street, Mifflin, died at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, HC 67, Mifflin.

Born June 30, 1919, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late John Oliver and Violet Mae (Wetzler) Barton. Her husband, Gerald E. Ford Sr, died Oct. 22, 1995.

Surviving are: children, Patricia A. Carson, New Holland and Gerald E. Ford Jr., Newport RR2; sister and brothers, Helen "Toni" Stoner, Camp Hill, William Barton, Mifflintown, and Robert Barton, Mifflintown RR2; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a 1938 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, MIfflintown.

She worked for many years as a secretary at the American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown; then in the cafeteria at Juniata Joint High School; and retired as bookkeeper at Juniata Lumber and Supply, Mifflin.

She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown; the Crawford-Brubaker Post 5863 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Mifflintown, and the Juniata County Retired School Employees Association.

Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Claude R. Baublitz officiating. Interment will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home.

Beverly J. Forgy
LEWISTOWN - Beverly J. Forgy, 64, of 110 Delaware Ave., Lewistown, died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at her residence.

Born Feb. 13, 1935, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John P. and Dorothea (Henry) Liddick.

She is survived by a sister, Norma Liddick Bloom, 138 Nittany St., Pleasant Gap.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Liddick.

Early in life, she was a cook at the Honeycreek Inn.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kenneth E. Forry
THOMPSONTOWN - Kenneth E. Forry, 68, of Thompsontown RR1, died at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Meda Nipple Nursing Home, Thompsontown RR1.

Born Nov. 16, 1930, in Millerstown, he was a son of the late Earl W. Forry and Mae J. (Swartz) Forry Arnold.

Surviving are: brother and sister, Eugene W. Forry, Port Royal, and Mabel I. Goodling, McAlisterville.

He was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Edwin Forry, Lawrence Forry and Sarah A. Staley.

He attended Red Bank, Greenwood and Cocolamus grammar schools.

He was employed by Precisionware, Thompsontown; Glass's Bakery, Duncannon; Redwood Kitchens, Port Royal; Empire Kosher, Mifflintown; and as a janitor in the Pennsylvania State Capitol News Room, Harrisburg.

He was a member of Bethlehem-Whiteland Church, Millerstown RR2.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Terry A. Sheldon officiating. Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Millerstown RR2.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m.

Edward M. Fortney
NEWTON HAMILTON - Edward M. Fortney, 74, of 180 Church St., Newton Hamilton, died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at his home.

Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Newton Hamilton, he was the son of the late Ranels and Jennie C. (Sechrist) Fortney. His wife, Lillian (Everets) Fortney, whom he married Dec. 11, 1944, survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Bonnie L. Miller, Harrisburg and Mrs. Max (Joanne) Hess, Huntingdon; brothers, William R. Fortney, McVeytown RR1, Robert C. Fortney Sr, Silverford Heights, Mount Union RR, and Jack I. Fortney, Mount Union RR1; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.

He was schooled in the Newton Hamilton and Mount Union schools.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was the former owner-operator of Fortney's Exxon Station, Mount Union, for a number of years. He also drove school bus for the Mount Union Area School District.

He was Methodist by faith and a former member of the McVeytown Masonic Lodge and the Junior Mechanics at Newton Hamilton. He was a retired member of the Newton Wayne Fire Company.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Donald Pellman officiating. Interment will be in the Newton Hamilton Memorial Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today, where a fireman's memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Friday at the funeral home.

Harold C. Foster
GRANVILLE - Harold C. Foster, 72, a resident of the Malta Home, Granville, formerly of 31 Riverview Drive, McVeytown, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at the home.

Born May 9, 1927, in Mapleton Depot, he was a son of the late Clair J. and Emma (White) Foster. His wife, Verna M. (Harshbarger) Foster, whom he married Feb. 20, 1959, survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, James C. Foster, Stafford, Va. and John C. Foster, McVeytown; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Mary) David, Womelsdorf; a brother, Gerald D. Foster, Huntingdon; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James L. Foster.

He had served with the United States Army, having served with the 26th Field Artillery Battalion.

Early in life, he was a farmer and a school bus driver. He also worked as a meat cutter at the A&P Grocery Store in Mount Union and as a road supervisor for Union Township in Huntingdon County. He retired in 1989 as project manager for Riverside Farms Inc., Huntingdon.

He was a member of McVeytown United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Madison Kay Foster
STATE COLLEGE - Madison Kay Foster of 448 Douglas St., State College, died at 6:47 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center.

Born Feb. 11, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center, she was a daughter of Terry L. and Dawn M. (Savage) Foster, 448 Douglas St., State College.

Surviving are: twin sister, Hannah Jane Foster, at home; maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy (Drum) Savage, Columbus, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Robert and Brenda (Showalter) Foster, Belleville; paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Betty (Wagner) Showalter, Mill Creek; and paternal great-grandmother, Mabel (Davis) Foster, Newton Hamilton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There will be no public viewing.

Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Hayes Fowler
CHADDS FORD - Raymond Hayes Fowler, 68, of Chadds Ford, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, at VITAS Hospice House-St. Agnes Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born Aug. 11, 1931, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ezra and Mae (Hayes) Fowler. His wife of 41 years, Barbara K. Fowler, survives.

Also surviving are: sons, David Matthew Fowler, Malvern and Wayne Allen Fowler, all of Windham, N.H.; brother, Earl E. Fowler, Springfield; and two grandsons.

He was a graduate of Derry Township High School and Juniata College. He completed two years of graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served at the Army Chemical Center, Edgewood, Md., for two years.

He retired as a chemist in 1991 from I.C.I. Americas Inc.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Sharpley, Wilmington, Del. Interment will be private.
