Born June 28, 1909, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Charles Edward and Mary Ellen (Sheesley) Kauffman. His wife, Besse Mae (Horning) Kauffman, died June 25, 1976.
Surviving are: sons, Willis E. Kauffman, HC63, Mifflintown and Curtis Kauffman, Mifflintown RR3; brother and sister, Frederick Kauffman and Gertude Kauffman, both of Mifflintown RR3; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, P. Irvin Kauffman and a brother, Robert C. Kauffman.
He attended Mifflintown High School.
He was a construction engineer, who worked all over the United States and in Central America, before retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the Union of Operating Engineers.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley, Mifflintown RR3, with the Rev. Claude R. Baublitz officiating.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown.

Una Pauline Kauffman
Born June 6, 1913, in Mount Union, she was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Cora Gertrude (Reed) Banks. Her husband, James R. Kauffman, whom she married Oct. 20, 1933, in Hagerstown, Md., died Aug. 10, 1990.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Boyd (Phyllis) Runk, Mount Union RR2, and Wilbur E. Kauffman, Mt. Joy; a sister, Janet Fortney, Lewistown; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters and two brothers, Albert Banks and Merle Banks.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union, where she had played the piano and organ for worship services.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Ronald Milley officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

Willis E. Kauffman
Born July 30, 1934, in Quincy, Ill., he was a son of the late Paul E. and Bessie May (Horning) Kauffman. He is survived by a companion, Mary B. Brumbaugh.
Also surviving are: children, Kevin E. Kauffman, Mifflintown RR2, Darren E. Kauffman, Mifflin, Chad E. Kauffman, Mifflintown HC 63, and Danita A. Kauffman, Harrisburg; a brother, Curtis A. Kauffman, Mifflintown RR3; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, P. Irvin Kauffman.
He was a 1952 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and received an Associate Degree in Animal Husbandry from Penn State University.
He was a United States Army veteran.
He was the manager of the W. T. Grant Department Store, Burnham until 1974. He was also founder and owner of Kauffman Insurance Agency, Mifflintown.
He was a member of the Juniata Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Crawford-Brubaker Post 5863 VFW, Mifflintown, the Mifflintown American Legion Post 298, the Millerstown Moose, the Blue Juniata Country Dancers, the Fraternal Order of Police, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the Pennsylvania Sheriff's Association, the Messiah Lutheran Church, and was a former member of the Juniata County Board of Assistance.
He enjoyed line dancing, bowling in the Juniata Lanes Wednesday night mixed league, buying lottery tickets, and was a Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Claude R. Baublitz officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley, where military honors will be provided by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ruth A. Keister
Born Feb. 25, 1926, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late J. Milnor and Irene (Esterline) Kauffman. Her husband, William A. Keister, whom she married July 12, 1945, died Nov. 30, 1983.
Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Georganna) Crawford, Reedsville, Karen J. Winn, McVeytown, and Sharon E. Lawson, Lewistown; a brother, Gerald M. Kauffman, Lewistown; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Hutchinson, a brother, George Kauffman, and an infant brother.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Wayne United Methodist Church, McVeytown RR.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wayne United Methodist Church, McVeytown RR, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.

Samuel H. Kell
Born Jan. 9, 1915, in Walnut, he was a son of the late Jay W. and Elizabeth (Ernest) Kell. His wife, Dorothy E. (Trego) Kell, whom he married Oct. 8, 1937, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Barbara) Margritz, HC63, Mifflintown; brother and sister, Paul L. Kell, HC67, Mifflin, and Phyllis E. Depew, Mifflintown RR1; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jay W. Kell; a brother, J. Ernest Kell; and two great-granddaughters, Emma Taylor and Cora Taylor.
He had fired kilns at Van Dyke Brick Yard for many years and retired as a carpenter from Manbeck Construction.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Walnut Grange 776.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, HC67, Mifflin (Nook), with the Rev. Marton Roberson and the Rev. Claude Baublitz officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.
There will be no public viewing.

Josephine A. Keller
Born May 16, 1925, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Adam B. and Alfarata (Graffius) Carper. Her husband, Joseph L. Keller, died May 2, 1984.
Surviving are: a sister, G. Eileen Zimmerman, Granville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Walters and Alma Hockenbrock.
She had resided in Danville for 50 years, and was a member of the Danville chapter of Women of the Moose. She attended the Danville Senior Center, where she was active in Meals on Wheels.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Jerone W. Haupt III, pastor of St. Paul's "Emmanuel" United Methodist Church, Danville, officiating. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Danville.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Darrol R. Kelly
Born May 4, 1927, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Wilson and Martha Kelly. His wife, Anna Ruth (Hummel) Kelly, died Feb. 17, 1995.
He is survived by a son, John W. Kelly, Silver Spring, Md.
He was a shipping clerk for Fisher Scientific Inc., Silver Spring, Md.
He was Methodist by faith.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Burnham.
Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, is in charge of arrangements.
Charles F. Kenepp
Born on Nov. 15, 1903, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late David and Margaret (Frazier) Kenepp. His wife, Carrie (Lepley) Kenepp, preceded him in death.
Surviving are: a daughter, Charlene Trone of York; a sister, Hazel Price of McVeytown; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
He had been a production employee at Hartley's Potato Chip Company, Lewistown.
He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alfarata and Alfarata Grange and a member and past treasurer of the Decatur Fire Company.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Clyde B. Singh officiating. Interment will be private at Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

MOUNT UNION - Una Pauline Kauffman, 86, died Tuesday morning Nov. 16, 1999, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Boyd and Phyllis Runk, with whom she resided, at Mount Union RR2.
MIFFLINTOWN - Willis E. Kauffman, 65, of HC 63, Mifflintown, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2000, at his home.
MCVEYTOWN - Ruth A. Keister, 73, of US Highway 522 South, McVeytown, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at her home.
MIFFLIN - Samuel H. Kell, 84, of HC67, Mifflin, formerly of Walnut, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.
