Albert J. 'Jack' Long
PORT ROYAL - Albert J. "Jack" Long, 73, of Port Royal RR1, died at 2:04 p.m. Monday March 8, 1999, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born May 8, 1925, in Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Lewis L. and Blanche (Bailor) Long. His wife, Florence (Nipple) Long, survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Barbara) Maxton, Ickesburg and Mrs. James (Carol) Adams Jr., York; brothers, Raymond T. Long Sr. and Larry L. Long, both of Port Royal; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer.

He was a member of the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia, with the Rev. Edward Trask and the Rev. Harold Imes officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon-9 p.m. Thursday at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Family will provide all flowers, but in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the American Cancer Society, Mifflin-Juniata Chapter, 112 N. Wayne St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Frances A. Long
BEAVERTOWN - Frances A. Long, 53, of Beavertown RR1, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000.

Born Aug. 8, 1946, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Luther and Grace (Bilger) Wagner of McClure. Her husband, Tim B. Long, whom she married Nov. 21, 1995, survives. Her first husband, Donald Brouse, preceded her in death in 1973, and her second husband, Myron Steffan, preceded her in death in 1987.

Also surviving are: children, Cindy Hartley, Selinsgrove, Connie Church, Beaver Springs, and Karen Bingaman, Mifflinburg, and Mike Steffan, McClure; a brother, Marvin L. Wagner, Troxelville; seven grandchildren; stepson and stepdaughters, Ernest Long, Middleburg, Pauling Strahan, Selinsgrove, Kim Day, Middleburg, and Audrey Knepp, Selinsgrove; and five step-grandchildren.

She was a cook for many years at Jo-Lee's Restaurant, Troxelville, before retiring recently to care for her parents.

She enjoyed hunting, playing bingo and riding motorcycle.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Beavertown Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown with the Rev. Phil Thorsen officiating. Interment will be in Troxelville Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.

Gladys I. Long
PORT ROYAL - Gladys I. Long, 73, Port Royal RR1, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born Oct. 1, 1926, in Lack Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Campbell) Roe. Her husband, Raymond T. Long Sr., survives.

Also surviving are: a son, Raymond T. "Ray" Long Jr., Port Royal RR1; brother and sisters, Harry "Buzz" Roe Jr., HCR 67 Mifflin, Anabelle Long, Port Royal, and Mary Smith, Carlisle Springs; and three grandchildren.

She was a self-employed farmer and a homemaker.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Port Royal RR1, and the Spruce Hill Grange 772.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with Pastor Barbara Inch officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Friends may call from noon till 9 p.m. Tuesday, where family will be present from 7-9 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the church.

Hannah Brooke Long
NEWTON HAMILTON - Hannah Brooke Long, 2 1/2 months old, of Water Street, Newton Hamilton, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2000, at St. Christopher's Hospital, Philadelphia, of a rare disease, Epidermolysis Bullosa.

Born Dec. 21, 1999, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of Nichole Diann (Bilger) and Lester Eugene Long Jr. of Newton Hamilton.

Also surviving are: a sister, Rebekah Elisabeth Long, at home; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Annette Bilger, Kistler; paternal grandmother, Pauline Long, Selinsgrove; great-grandparents, Fern and Ruth Parks, Silverford Heights, Mount Union RR1, and Gertrude Bilger, Mount Union.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Lester E. Long Sr.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Gordon Ross officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RR1.

Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.

Harry E. 'Joe' Longer Sr.
MIDDLEBURG - Harry E. "Joe" Longer Sr., 56, of Middleburg RR1, died at 10:59 a.m., Friday, June 4, 1999, at the Evangelical Community Hospital.

Born July 23, 1942, in Franklin Township, Snyder County, he was the son of the late Nestor M. and Laura A. (Bickhart) Longer. He is survived by a companion of 27 years, Linda J. Romig.

Also surviving are: children, Harry E. Longer Jr. and David E. Longer, both of Middleburg RR4, and Scott A. Longer, Harrisburg; sisters and brother, Lorraine Kline, Sarah Smith, Louise Camp, Carol Jean Camp, all of Middleburg RR1, Arlene Weader, Beavertown, and Nestor M. Longer Jr., Middleburg RR1; two step-children, Larrene VanHorn, Middleburg RR3 and Larry R. Romig, at home; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Darlene and a brother, Leo.

He served in the U. S. Army National Guard in the 104th Armored Division.

He was employed by the Aplundh Tree Co., Willow Grove, for 33 years, currently as a foreman.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Middleburg RR4 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 126, Harrisburg.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Beavertown chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes Inc., 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with the Rev. Thomas Adams officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Church Cemetery, Middleburg RR4.

Oswald W. Longfield
LEWISTOWN - Oswald W. Longfield, 98, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown, formerly of 24 Woodland, Cresskill, N.J., died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at the nursing home.

Born Dec. 2, 1901, in Jersey City, N.J., he was a son of the late Thomas E. and Meta (Barckhausen) Longfield. His wife, Mildred (Scharpen) Longfield, died Dec. 19, 1990.

Surviving are two children, Rev. Kenneth Longfield, 285 Walnut St., Reedsville, and Mrs. William (Laurine) Cooke, Silver Spring, Md.; and four grandchildren.

He was the last of his immediate family.

He was a custodian for the Teaneck School District, Teaneck, N.J, retiring in 1971.

He was a member of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cresskill, N.J., the New York-New Jersey Volunteer Fireman's Association, and a life member of the Cresskill Volunteer Fire Co.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cresskill, N.J., with the Rev. John David Larson officiating. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, N. J.

There will be no public viewing.

Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of local arrangements.

George W. Love
EAST WATERFORD - George W. Love, 89, of East Waterford RR1, died Thursday Aug. 26, 1999, at his home.

Born Aug. 30, 1909, in Lack Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Elmer M. and Tirzah (Shearer) Love. His wife, Eleanor (Doyle) Love, died in 1986.

Surviving are: a son, Glenn R. Love, East Waterford RR1; a companion, Rowena Fasolt, two grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Lucy Long, Minnie Clark, Mary Campbell, Estella Clayton and Evelyn Crouse, and a brother, John Love.

He was a self-employed farmer and Silo and Barn equipment salesman. He was a member and elder of Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Waterloo. He was a member of Dorsett Grange No. 1888, Concord, a past president and Melvin Jones Fellow Recipient of the Blairs Mills Lions Club, and an advisory board member of Juniata Valley Bank, Blairs Mills.

He was a member of Fannett-Metal and East Waterford fire companies and the Pennsylvania Holstein Association.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, with the Rev. Alice Melloy and the Rev. Clyde Brown officiating. Interment will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run.

Friends may call from noon-9 p.m. Saturday at Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and also at the church on Sunday.

The family will provide all flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to: Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, c/o Ruth Mitchell, P.O. Box 224, Blairs Mills, PA 17213.

Paul F. Love
EAST WATERFORD - Paul F. Love, 78, of East Waterford RR1, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.

Born Feb. 4, 1922, in Doylesburg, he was a son of the late John S. and Rebecca (Reed) Love. His wife, Dolly M. (Parson) Love, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Robert F. Love, Shippensburg, Donna Kay Fulfer, Newburg, and Cindy P. Wert, Port Royal; brother, John R. Love, Carlisle; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two step-granddaughters.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a retired construction worker and mail carrier.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown and the Shippensburg VFW Post 6168.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Alice Meloy officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Cemetery, Waterloo.

Friends may call noon-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present 7-9 p.m.
