Born Feb. 13, 1916, in Sanborn, he was a son of the late John and Cora (Baughman) Lowe. His wife, Hazel (Wilks) Lowe, whom he married Nov. 26, 1936, in Wallaceton, died Dec. 17, 1977.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Matthew S. (Gilda L.) Wrobleski, Curwensville, Mrs. Edward S. (Sandra D.) Moslak, Sanborn, and Darold A. Lowe, Milroy; two sisters and a brother, Laura Yarger, Sanborn, Vera Peters, Wallaceton, and Ernest Lowe, Morgan Run; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew J. Wrobleski; a sister, Alice Hileman; and two brothers, Foster Lowe and Austin Lowe.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
For 27 1/2 years, he was a supervisor of the Research and Development Machine Shop of Clearfield Cheese Co., retiring March 27, 1981. Earlier in life, he was employed in the coal and clay mines.
For over 62 years, he was a member of Ashland Wesleyan Church, where he served on numerous boards, held various offices and was a Sunday school teacher.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ashland Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. John L. Croft officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, and from 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.
Edward E. 'Peanuts' Lowrey
Born June 11, 1936, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Edward E. and Florence K. (Krebbs) Lowrey.
Surviving are: four brothers, Jackson C. Lowrey, Mifflintown RR3, Charles S. Lowrey, Mifflin, Robert E. Lowrey, Orangeville Nursing and Rehab Center, Orangeville, Richard L. Lowrey, Frackville; five sisters, Marilyn V. Guyer, Thompsontown RR1, Mada A. Graham, Lewistown, Nancy J. Swartz and Laurabelle D. Lowrey, both of Mifflin, Jenny L. Lowrey, Mifflintown; a half-sister, Helen Ranck, Brookline Manor Convalescent Home, Mifflintown RR1; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a 1958 graduate of Juniata Joint High School.
He retired in 1988 from Empire Kosher Poultry Inc., Mifflintown and prior to that, he was employed from 1969 until 1996 at the former Dysinger's Meat Market, Thompsontown RR1.
He was a life member of the Mifflintown Hose Company No. 1, and a member of the Elks Lodge No. 663, Lewistown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William J. Lugar
Born in Johnstown, he was a resident of Morrisville for over 46 years.
His wife, Irene R. (McNitt) Lugar survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Carol L. (Lugar) Hambright, Port Royal; two brothers, Joseph Lugar, Ohio and Edward Lugar, New Jersey; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Miller, a grandson, Jeffrey Hambright, and a sister, Anne Stanko.
He retired in 1985 as a tractor operator for U.S.X. Fairless Works, where he had been employed for over 46 years.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be private.
J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
George B. Lukens Jr.
Born June 23, 1953, in Lewistown, he was a son of Beverly Gilbert of Lewistown and the late George B. Lukens Sr.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Shawnee) Treaster and Mrs. Shawn (Missy) DeArment, both of Lewistown; sister and brothers, Mrs. Kenneth (Cindy) Powell and Brian Lukens, both of Lewistown, and Don Lukens of Fulton, Del.; grandmother, Clare Sunday of Milroy; three granddaughters; step-mother, Mary Lukens of Lewistown; step-father, Barry Gilbert of Lewistown; step-brothers, Terry Lukens of Lewistown and Andrew Gilbert of New York.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clare B. Lukens, and a grandfather, Harry B. Sunday.
He was employed by Trevorton Manufacture in Trevorton and was a member of the Hummels Wharf Fire Police.
A memorial service was held on Monday, April 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Milroy, with the Rev. Rosalie N. Smith officiating.
Charles L. 'Chas' Lyter Sr.
Born Nov. 13, 1942, in Lewistown, he was a son of Charles J. and Hazel (Kauffman) Lyter, 151 Pine St., Reedsville. His wife, Lavonne "Bonnie" (Moore) Lyter, whom he married Nov. 13, 1984, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Charles L. Lyter Jr., Parcheytown Road, Lewistown, Mrs. Thomas (Steffanie) Guenther, Lewland Circle, Maitland, Samuel E. Lyter, 522 Lewistown, and Christina M. Lyter, Reedsville; sister and brother, Mrs. Robert (Barb) Royer, Granville, and Larry "Joe" Lyter, Reedsville; step-children, Brenda Baumgardner, Burnham, Dennis Lee Moore, Orbisonia, Deborah Lynn Young, Milroy, Daniel Robert Moore, Maryland, David Victor Moore, Glenwood, and Dorothy Mae Patrick, New Jersey; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He had worked at Avtex Fibers for 16 years and retired due to disability from Lewistown Cabinet Factory in 1997.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed woodcrafts.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, after which a memorial service will be held at 9 p.m. with the Rev. Robert E. Iddings officiating.

Harold L. 'Barney' Lyter
Born Feb. 26, 1923, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John G. and Sarah E. (McCool) Lyter. His wife, Helen I. (Hackett) Lyter of 61 N. Kishacoquillas St., Belleville, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Harold G. Lyter, Pensacola, Fla., Karen L. Stydinger, Belleville, Barry L. Lyter, Port Royal, Janie Weaverling, Huntingdon RR2, and Denise M. Gearhart, McVeytown; brothers, John G. Lyter, Belleville and Larry E. Lyter, Bellefonte; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
He was a truck driver for 28 years and worked for New Holland for 25 years, retiring in 1978.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Kenneth Wagner officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.
Frances L. Lynch
Born Oct. 5, 1924, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary Grace (Lyter) Milliken. Her husband, Robert L. Lynch, died Oct. 13, 1990.
Surviving are: children, Robert N. Lynch, McVeytown, Rev. Ronald J. Lynch, 118 E. Fleming Ave., Lewistown, Mrs. Jack (Marsha) Mock, 204 S. Main St., Yeagertown, Sharon D. Fike, 210 S. Beech St., Burnham, and Marilyn L. Fleck, 20 Kelly Drive, Lewistown; sisters, Mrs. R.G. (Betty) Hathaway, Claremont, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Salyards, Harrisburg; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John F. Lynch on Oct. 4, 1994, and one sister.
She was employed as a claims interviewer at the Bureau of Employment Security, Department of Labor and Industry for 20 years, retiring in 1980. She and her husband also operated Lynch Tax Service in Yeagertown for over 40 years.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Derald Stump officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice: The Bridge, 1126 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Stella E. Lynch
Born Oct. 4, 1909, in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Herbert V. Pennington and Elizabeth (Steininger) Pennington Stimely.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Paul (Linda) Foley, Hopewell, Va., and Jack C. Knepp, McClure; step-sister, Helen Rothermel, Lewistown; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Karl E. Knepp, her second husband, Ralph B. Lynch, and two brothers.
She was employed by the American Viscose Corp. and later for the Arrow Shirt Factory.
She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Alfarata, and the Shining Star Sunday School Class.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Clyde B. Singh officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
