Born Oct. 15, 1893, in Port Royal, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Jennie (Meloy) Frankhouse. Her first husband, Samuel S. Beaver, died in 1932 and her second husband, George C. Lyter, died Jan. 2, 1955.
Surviving are: children, Richard A. Beaver, Liverpool, and Eleanor B. Hertzler, Port Royal; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by a son, Charles T. Beaver in 1945; a stepson, William L. Lyter; three brothers; and one sister.
She was a 1910 graduate of the Port Royal High School and attended Susquehanna College, Selinsgrove.
She was a private duty nurse and had worked in the Masonic Home's Hospital, Elizabethtown.
She was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church and was a charter member of the Port Royal Book Club. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, Mifflintown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Marton J. Roberson officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mildred A. 'Mid' Lyter
Born Oct. 6, 1930, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas and Ella Parkyn. Her husband, Holmes H. Lyter, survives.
Also surviving are: children, H. Thomas Lyter, Mifflintown RR2, Donald R. Lyter, Mifflintown RR4, and Cheryl A. Kint, Loysville RR1; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Swarner on Nov . 29, 1995.
She was a member of East Waterford United Methodist Church and the Lack/Tuscarora EMS.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Donald Walters and Pastor Dennis R. Thompson Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the East Waterford Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.

Irene S. MacKay
Born April 19, 1911, in East Salem, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Ira H. and Mary Jane (Yeigh) Sieber. Her husband, William MacKay, died June 11, 1970.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Luetta Wenger, Akron, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Clyde Sieber.
She was an upholsterer with the State of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown.
Services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday at Ephrata Manor, Bethany Road, Ephrata, with the Rev. Jeff High officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the manor.
Services will also be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Kelley officiating. There will be no viewing at the church.
Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
Brown Funeral Home, 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth W. Maddens
Born January 24, 1917, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Sadie (Warner) Reigle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Madden in 1942.
Surviving are: a daughter, Patricia M. Bealey, Mexico, Pa.; a sister, Lorraine E. Mitchell, Mifflintown; and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
In earlier life, she had been employed by Cluett Peabody, Lewistown and then as a seamstress at Orweco Frocks, Mechanicsburg.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville, with the Rev. William N. Esborn officiating.
There will be no public viewing and family will provide all funeral flowers.
Memorial contributions may be made to: the Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Marie Doris Maddox
Born Aug. 12, 1935, in Milroy, she was a daughter of Dorothy Marie Hartley, Milroy and the late Orville Ernest Hinkle. Her husband, Donnie F. Maddox of San Antonio, Texas, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Dorothy Ann Dunn, Melinda Marie Rodriguez, John Allan Clark, Warren Ralph Dunn III, and Brian Wayne Dunn; sisters and brothers, Peggy Romig, Mary Ellen Parsons, Ernest Hinkle, Jim Hinkle, and Gary Hinkle; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker.
Services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 Southeast Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Evelyn Mae Maggio
Born Aug. 20, 1937, in Johnstown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Elsie (Rager) Zonin. Her husband, Peter "Moppo" Maggio, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Jody Madea and Stacey Maggio, both of Bayonne, N.J., Melissa Swartz, Port Royal, Bruce Boring, Pocono, and Randy Boring, Williamsport; sisters and brother, Carol Kramer, Allentown, Dianne Wiegle, Somerset, and Roger Zonin, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Zonin.
She was a housewife.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Migliaccio Funeral Home, Inc. 851 Kennedy Boulevard, Bayonne, N.J., where a service will be held at 8 p.m.
A second service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Moskal and Kennedy Funeral Home, Johnstown. Interment will follow in the Benshoff Hills Cemetery, Johnstown.
Malcolm L. Maham Sr.
Born Jan. 4, 1933, in Virginia, he was a son of the late Lester and Ruby (Maham) Stine.
Surviving are: children, Mariann Maham, Lewistown, and Malcolm L. Maham Jr., Reedsville; sisters and brothers, Betty Blackburn, Harrisburg, Frances Holtrey, York, Chester Stine, Pennsylvania, Leonard Stine, Texas, and Clarence Stine and Miriam Lewis, both of Virginia; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He was a United States Navy veteran, retiring after 22 years of service in 1976.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family in San Diego, Calif.
Featheringill Mortuary, San Diego, Calif., was in charge of arrangements.
Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, was in charge of local information.
William M. Mahon Jr.
Born Jan. 3, 1925, in Freeland, he was a son of the late Rose (McNelis) and William M. Mahon Sr. His wife, Mary Helen (McNally) Mahon, whom he married in 1953, survives.
Also surviving are: children, William M. Mahon III, State College, Timothy Mahon, Lewistown, and Terance Mahon, Milroy; brother and sister, James Mahon, Darby, and David Mahon and Rosemary Bereznak, both of Freeland; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Mahon
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, where he served on the U.S.S. Langley.
He was a 1953 graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
He retired from Pennsylvania State Police and as a guard from the Sanyo Corporation.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, the Langley Association, the Elks Lodge 663, the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
Services were held at the convenience of the family at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment was in Juniata Memorial Park.

EAST WATERFORD - Mildred A. "Mid" Lyter, 69, of East Waterford, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at the Lewistown Hospital.
AKRON - Irene S. MacKay, 89, of 925 Main St., Akron, formerly of Mifflintown, died at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at her residence.
GRANVILLE - Ruth W. Maddens, 82, of Malta Home for the Aging, Granville, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died at 7:40 p.m., Friday, March 26, 1999, at the Lewistown Hospital.
