Born Oct. 22, 1915, in Delaware Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Joseph Howard and Laura (McElrath) McNaughton. His wife, Bessie (Hockenberry) McNaughton, whom he married Nov. 10, 1951, survives.
Also surviving are: sons, Charles D. McNaughton, Honey Grove, Philip L. McNaughton and Joseph H. McNaughton, both of Thompsontown; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph McNaughton and Frank McNaughton, and two sisters, Violet Zeigler and Isabelle McNaughton.
He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad laborer.
He was a member of Thompsontown United Methodist Church and the Thompsontown Lions Club.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Maureen Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Thompsontown Lutheran Cemetery.
Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin-Juniata Area Agency on Aging, 1 Buena Vista Circle, Lewistown, PA 17044 or to the Thompsontown Ambulance League, PO Box 78, Thompsontown, PA 17094.
Evelyn Houtz McNeal
Born Nov. 26, 1931, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late Foster G. and Anna Houtz. Her husband, William C. "Tom" McNeal, Douglasville, Ga., survives.
Also surviving are: children, Michael S. McNeal, Alabaster, Ala., D. Edward McNeal, Huntingdon, Thomas L. McNeal, Louisville, Ky., William G. McNeal and Debra M. Brown, both of Douglasville, Ga.; one brother, Donald Houtz, Chambersburg; one sister, Doris H. Gaul, Lemoyne; and four grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She was Presbyterian by faith.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Rosehaven Chapel, Douglasville, Ga., with the Rev. Sandra Fox officiating. Interment will be in Rosehaven Cemetery, Douglasville, Ga.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rosehaven Funeral Home, Douglasville, Ga.
Abodale M. McNitt
Born Feb. 10, 1922, in Naginey, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Flora May (Stimely) Freed. Her husband, John Williamson McNitt, preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1971.
Surviving are: a son, Robert J. McNitt, Reedsville, a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Judy K.) Kauffman Jr., Belleville; a brother, John David Freed, Reedsville; a step-brother, John Estright, Dillsburg; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1938, a daughter, Connie Mae Billett, on Dec. 29, 1993, and four brothers, C. Ellsworth Freed in 1968, Richard G. Freed in 1985, Frank L. Freed in 1988, and Carl J. Freed in 1999.
She had been employed at Kline Brothers Eggs, Reedsville, the American Viscose, Lewistown, and Hayes Cannery, Reedsville.
She was a member of Reedsville United Methodist Church and member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for more than 50 years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender and the Rev. Galen Sharp officiating.
Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.

R. Harold Mefferd
Born July 7, 1918, in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Robert and Besse (Hower) Mefferd. His wife, Eleanor (Suloff) Mefferd, died in 1992.
Surviving are: children, Robert Mefferd Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Joe (Connie) Berrier, East Waterford, and Mrs. Pat (Martha Ann) Snyder, Shade Gap; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He was a lifetime farmer and retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.
He was a member of the Richvale United Methodist church, Richvale. He was also a 50 year member of Union Lodge 324, F&AM of Mifflintown; a member of Juniata Valley Forest 64, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; a member of the Harrisburg Consistory, AASR; and a member of the Shade Gap Senior Citizens.
He enjoyed traveling.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18876 Main St., Dry Run, with the Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Tuscarora Cemetery, Blairs Mills.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.

Courtni D. Meiser
Born Jan. 27, 1982, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Harry L. and Melinda J. (Walters) Meiser of Thompsontown RR1.
Also surviving are: a brother, Michael L. Meiser, Charles County, MD; a sister, Amber Meiser, Thompsontown RR1; paternal grandparents, George and Althea Meiser, McAlisterville RR1; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Shirley Barth, Calabash, NC and Robert and Marlys Walters, Beavertown.
She was a senior at Greenwood High School, Millerstown, where she had held all offices in the Future Farmers of America, currently serving as president and was just awarded the Keystone Degree at the 2000 Pennsylvania Farm Show.
She was also a member of PAL or Peer Assisted Learning, Business Club and was the on track team in her freshman and sophomore years.
She attended Turkey Valley United Methodist Church.
She was employed at Arby's Restaurant, Duncannon for the last year and worked at the Lost Creek Golf Club snack bar, Oakland Mills and Hersheypark, Hershey.
She enjoyed swimming and country music.
The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Turkey Valley United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR2, with Pastor Salvatore E. Buonocore officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where the family will be present to receive friends 7-9 p.m.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Future Farmers of America, Greenwood High School, 405 E. Sunbury St., Millerstown, PA 17062.
Lewis Edward 'Louie' Meiser Sr.
Born April 28, 1910, in Greenwood Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Luke E. and Effie (Cox) Meiser. His first wife, P. Regina Bassler, whom he married Oct. 20, 1934, died Aug. 21, 1979. His second wife, Lillian B. Stroup, whom he married Dec. 8, 1986, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Lewis E. Meiser Jr., Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, Robert L. Meiser, Mount Pleasant Mills RR1, David G. Meiser, Middleburg RR4, Glenn E. Meiser, Middleburg, Mrs. Robert W. (Arlene M.) Loss, Middleburg RR1, and Mrs. Kenneth E. (Marlene K.) Hackenberg, Kreamer; one brother, George F. Meiser, McAlisterville RR2; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; one great-grandchild at birth; two brothers, Dewey Meiser and Paul Meiser, in childhood; and a sister, Lenora Frymoyer.
He was a farmer for most of his life, first in the Mifflintown area and later at Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, until he retired in 1972. He then worked for the Newman fruit farm and Whispering Springs (now Whispering Pines) fruit farm, Mount Pleasant Mills RR2.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.
He was also a member of Fremont Volunteer Fire Company, Mount Pleasant Mills, and the Richfield Ambulance League.
He loved farming and working outdoors and was a skilled woodworker.
Services will held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Jack E. Landis officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church.

Margaret E. Melius
Born Feb. 6, 1925, in Sharon, she was a daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Lewis) Jones.
Surviving are: children, Peggy Drobney, 725 Dutch Lane, Lot 1, Hermitage, Clarence "Sonny" Melius, Niles, Ohio, William Melius and Paul Melius, both of Lewistown, and Daniel "Fat-Boy" Melius, Sharpsville; sisters and brothers, Dorothy Popa, Warren, Ohio, Maxine Hawkes, Hermitage, Edna Aurand, Sharpsville, David Jones, Franklin, and John Jones, Lordstown, Ohio; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Tommy; a son, James T. Melius; and a granddaughter, Deavon Melius.
She was a 1943 graduate of Hickory High School. She was employed as the morning cook at Nancy's Cozy Cafe from 1987-1999 and previously as a cafeteria worker at GM Lordstown for eight years.
She was a member of Grace Chapel Community Church, Sharon.
She enjoyed gospel music and formerly had been an active member of the Hickory Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Chapel Community Church, 120 Elm Ave., Sharon, with Pastor Larry Haynes officiating. Interment will be Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home, 124 Main St., Sharpsville.
Angelo S. Meloni
Born Sept. 9, 1914, in Renovo, he was a son of the late John and Antonia (Sabenna) Meloni. His wife, Kathryn (Kosack) Meloni, whom he married in 1935, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Doloris Garrison, New Mexico, Kathleen Haines, Maryland, John "Sonny" Meloni, Mary A. Strauser, Angela Kovschak, and Anna Stewart, all of Lewistown; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
He was the retired owner of Angelo's Hollow Inn.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Mifflin/Juniata County Art League.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Church, Lewistown, with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday a Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, where a scripture reading will be held at 8:50 p.m.
