Born Feb. 22, 1923, in Mapleton Depot, he was a son of the late Moses F. and Ruth (Williams) Moist. His wife, Edna B. (McKinstry) Moist, whom he married Feb. 20, 1943, died Sept. 27, 1998.
Surviving are: sons, Stephen C. Moist Sr. and Calvin J. Moist, both of Ryde; brothers and sisters, Esther Harshbarger, Measdowview Manor, McVeytown, Chester C. Moist, Mount Union RR1, Raymond Moist, Elizabethtown, James Moist, Tyrone and Moses F. Moist, Mapleton Depot; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 259th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre.
He worked as a track foreman for 18 years for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He then worked as a construction supervisor for the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring in 1969 after 15 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of Mount Union VFW Post 5754 and was active with the Rothrock Fair for many years.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Phyllis Hunter officiating. Interment will be in Ryde Cemetery, where graveside military services will be conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Doris M. Moist
Born April 12, 1938, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Ruth (Gearhart) Spickler. Her husband, Jay Moist, whom she married Feb. 10, 1955, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Richard (Judy Ann) Bingaman and Gerald E. Moist, both of Ryde; brother and sister, Richard Spickler and Mrs. Doyle (Mildred) Smith, both of Lewistown; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three half-brothers.
She was employed at Scotty's Fashions, Lewistown, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Ryde United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ryde Cemetery, McVeytown RR, with the Rev. Phyllis Hunter officiating.

The Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, is in charge of arrangements.
Stanford C. Moist Sr.
Born Dec. 12, 1927, in Ryde, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Clair E. and Madeline (Casner) Moist. His wife, Ethel I. (Sunderland) Moist, whom he married Nov. 14, 1947, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. Michael (Sonja) Redifer, Waynesboro, Va., Stanford C. Moist Jr., Hummelstown, Jeffrey L. Moist, Mrs. Mark (Beth) Zong, Gregory M. Moist, Mrs. John (Jamie) Cunningham, and Brian F. Moist, all of McVeytown; brothers, John E. Moist, McVeytown and J. Franklin Moist, Lewistown; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Co. in McVeytown for 27 years and in the maintenance department at Standard Steel, Burnham for 15 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Jeanette Rapp officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Clara M. Moller
Born in Crisfield, Md., she was a daughter of the late William and Stella Britton. Her husband, Holger W. Moller, died in 1993.
She is survived by sisters, Florence Calloway, Laurel, Del., and Martha O'Masta, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Burke.
She retired as a secretary for the A&P Grocery Store in Philadelphia.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seaford, Del., and a member of the Baptist Church, Lewistown, during the 25 years she resided in Ferguson Valley.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Short Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, Del. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel, Del.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Anna E. Strawser Moore
Born July 1, 1908, in Ickesburg, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Orris) Strawser. Her husband, Chester Moore, preceded her in death.
Surviving are: a daughter, Clara Mae Crane, Dover; sister and brother, Tillie Shaeffer, Thompsontown, and Frank Strawser, Lewistown; one grandson, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She worked as a hookup operator at American Chain & Cable, York, retiring after 24 years of service in 1969.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, with the Rev. William J. Farrell officiating. Interment will be in Salem Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Eva R. Morgan
Born Nov. 19, 1911, in Three Springs, she was a daughter of the late David and Naomi (Neuman) Runk. Her husband, William H. Morgan, whom she married Dec. 23, 1933 in Morgantown, W. Va., died Dec. 2, 1974.
Surviving are: children, Harold T. Morgan, Lewistown, William D. Morgan, Orbisonia RR1, Janet Morgan, Rockhill, Mrs. Clifford (Louise) Heidel, Mount Union,
Mrs. Glenn (Patsy) Atherton, McVeytown RR1; brothers, Hayden Runk, Wayne Runk, and Sheldon Runk, all of McVeytown RR, Kenneth Runk, Wisconsin, Max Runk, Punxsutawney, and Boyd Runk, Mount Union; 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Martin; one brother and three sisters.
She graduated from Orbisonia High School and Shippensburg State Teacher's College.
She retired from the Mount Union Area School District, having been employed for many years as a school teacher. She also taught at a number of other schools in Huntingdon County, including the Rockhill, Blacklog, Three Springs, and Whitseltown schools.
She had attended Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel and the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union. She was a former Sunday school teacher at the C&MA church.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Organization.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Jeff Winstead and Pastor William Wollett officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RR1.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Leon R. Morgan III
Also surviving are: sisters, Danele Nichole Morgan and Caitlyn Rebecca Morgan, both at home; grandparents, Leon Sr. and Loretta Morgan, Mount Union RR1, Pauline Snyder, Mount Union, Robert Powell, Newark, Del., and Dallas Varner, Mount Union RR2.
Private graveside services will be held today at the convenience of the family, with Rev. Rich Morris officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg RR1.
The Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, is in charge of arrangements.
Trina S. Morgan
Born April 26, 1956, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Nelson F. and JoAnn (Harry) Baer of McVeytown RR1. Her husband, Bill W. Morgan, whom she married Oct. 5, l974 at the Allenport United Methodist Church, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Shane (Amanda) Treweek, of 65 Morgan Drive, McVeytown RR1; grandmother, Ruth P. Baer, Mount Union; four sisters,
Mrs. Tim (Karen) Goodman, Mount Union; Mrs. Stanley (Deborah) Wertz, McVeytown RR1, Mrs. Mark (Pamela) Houp, Huntingdon, and Mrs. Gerald (Kimberly) Miller, Huntingdon; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Mount Union High School in 1974.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Singers Gap United Methodist Church, Hill Valley.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Singer's Gap United Methodist Church, Hill Valley, with the Rev. Rich Morris officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the church.

RYDE - Doris M. Moist, 61, of SR 103 S, Ryde, died at 6:43 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital.
MCVEYTOWN - Stanford C. Moist Sr., 71, of 4290 SR 103 South, McVeytown, died at 11:24 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 1999, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
GEORGETOWN, Del. - Clara M. Moller, 88, a resident of Harrison House of Georgetown, Georgetown, Del., formerly of Seaford, Del., and Ferguson Valley, Lewistown, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Harrison House.
YORK - Anna E. Strawser Moore, 91, of York, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Manor Care Health Services North, York.
MOUNT UNION - Eva R. Morgan, 88, of Mount Union, died Thursday morning, Jan. 13, 2000, at her home.
YEAGERTOWN - Leon R. Morgan III, infant son of Leon R. Jr. and Kimberly (Powell) Morgan of 120 S. Main St., Yeagertown, was stillborn at 2:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at the Lewistown Hospital.
MCVEYTOWN - Trina S. Morgan, 43, of 65 Morgan Drive, McVeytown, died of natural causes, at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, l999, at the Centre Community Hospital, State College.
