Born June 27, 1924, in Northumberland County, he was the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Kuhn) Nevel. His wife, Pauline M. (Bingaman) Nevel, whom he married Aug. 30, 1945, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Dennis Boyd Nevel, Wescosville; sisters, Mrs. John (Jean) Schillings, Centre Hall and Joyce Gresh, Watsontown RR; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
He was a U. S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict and World War II, in the European Theatre.
He was associate pastor of the Key to Life Church of God, Lewistown. Earlier in life, he worked at the American Viscose Corporation, division of FMC and retired as a foreman from the polyester department of Avtex Fibers.
He was active with the Boy Scout Council and was scoutmaster of Troop 19, Lewistown.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Scott T. Reiman officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Betty Lou Newel
Born July 17, 1920, in Hartley, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Gerhart and Margeret (Olsen) Hesse. Her husband, Warren Newel of State College, whom she married April 14, 1945, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Peggy Guralnick, State College, Sally Suder, Carroll Valley, and Nancy Orth, Naperville, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
She was a 1937 graduate of Hartley High School and attended Iowa Falls Teachers' College for two years.
She was a homemaker and was employed by Pennsylvania Department of Property and Supplies.
She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and the Garden Club of Lewistown.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, with the Rev. Todd Maurer officiating. Interment will be in Spring Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Richard E. Newhart
Born April 2, 1946, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of Sara E. (Gill) Newhart, Bloomsburg, and the late Robert Newhart. His wife, Susan K. (Abbott) Newhart, whom he married Sept. 20, 1969, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Scott E. Newhart, Lewistown; brother and sister, Glen A. Newhart, Durham, N.C., and Mrs. John (Beatrice) French, Bloomsburg; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
He was a 1964 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
He was a technician for Frank Guerrini Vending Machines Inc., Lewistown, from 1988 to the present.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, US Highway 522N, Lewistown, with Mr. William Winn officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.

Raymond William "Nip" Nipple
He was born on Feb. 16, 1916, in Juniata County, a son of the late William and Stella (Long) Nipple. His wife, Orpha G. (Snyder), whom he married Jan. 28, 1939, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Robert N. Nipple, Mifflinburg; Ronald H. Nipple, Liverpool; Ralph R. Nipple, Liverpool; Anna Mary Meiser, Mount Pleasant Mills and Connie R. Harnum, Selinsgrove; brothers, Clyde Nipple, Selinsgrove and Samuel Nipple, Thompsontown RR1; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters Freda Goodling and Fern Goodling.
He was educated in the Bethlehem grammar schoolhouse at Millerstown RR2.
He retired two years ago from farming. He had previously been employed for the Bethlehem Steel Mill, Harrisburg, and also for Vandyke's Brick Plant, Thompsontown.
He was a member of St. Paul's (Leininger's) Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, where he was a former church council member, treasurer of the church and Sunday school superintendent.
He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Fremont Fire Company, Mount Pleasant Mills, and the Reliance Hose Company Ambulance League, Middleburg.
He was the supervisor for Perry Township for many years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially picnics with his family and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday June 4, 1999, at St. Paul's (Leininger's) Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills RR2, with the Rev. Celo V. Leitzel officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 1999, in the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the church.

Linda J. (McDonald) Nord
Born Sept. 14, 1951, in Anamosa, Iowa, she was a daughter of Genevieve (Albang) McDonald, McClure, and the late Mark McDonald, who died in 1981. Her husband, Neil Nord, whom she married Sept. 8, 1972, in Clinton, Iowa, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Tara Jo, at home.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Neil, in 1990; and a sister, Mary Carol McDonald, in infancy.
She was a 1969 graduate of Anamosa High School. She graduated with a B.S. degree in home economics with a minor in elementary education from Mary Crest College, Davenport, Iowa, in 1973.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown.
She was also a member of a Mixed Bowling League Super Couples, Selinsgrove.
Services are at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown, with Monsignor Neil Tobin officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
Mary M. Norris
Born Oct. 20, 1915, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles B. and Effie (Treaster) Kitting. Her husband, Charles A. Norris, preceded her in death on March 3, 1989.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Bargo, Port Royal, Mrs. Joe (Jane) Marlowe, Mifflintown, Samuel C. Norris, Lewistown, and Mrs. Tim (Nancy) Robbins, Elizabethtown; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Earlier in her life she was a bookkeeper at Sausman Chevrolet, Harrisburg and, later in life, worked as as bookkeeper at Warner-Lewis Buick, Lewistown, retiring in 1977.
She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church, Lewistown, where she was a former pianist and choir director. She was also a former pianist at Grace Evangelical Church, Lewistown and in the Union Hall Orchestra.
The funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family and interment will be private in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Park United Methodist Church, West Fourth Street and Crystal Springs Avenue, Lewistown, PA 17044.

Helen Louise 'Hark' Noss
Born Oct. 6, 1929, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Martha J. (Graham) Harkinson. Her husband, William W. Noss, whom she married April 1, 1955, survives.
Also surviving are a son, W. Scott Noss, Lewistown, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
She was the last of her immediate family.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, Burnham, where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and the church choir.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Larry Lutz officiating. Interment will be in the McCulloch's Mills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Walnut Street United Methodist Church, 203 N. Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009 or to SUN Home Health Services Inc., 2 Hudson Ave., Lewistown, PA 17044.
Marjorie W. Nowark
Born March 14, 1922, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Earl G. and Ruth (Kuhns) Goodwin. Her husband, Paul J. Nowark, died Jan. 13, 1983.
She is survived by a son, Paul J. Nowark Jr.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Church Women.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Interment will be private.
There will be no public viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made to: the Endowment Fund of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
