Born Oct. 21, 1958, in Mattawana, he was a son of Lois (Gardner) Rhodes of 305 S. Pine Road, Lewistown, and the late Lewis Rhodes.
Also surviving are two sisters, Joann Simonton, 305 S. Pine Road, Lewistown, and Hazel Ciccolini, Lewistown.
He was preceded in death by brothers, James and Dean Rhodes, and by sisters, Betty Orth and Doris Rhodes.
He was a Brethren by faith.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, with the Rev. Jacob Traxler officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, is in charge of arrangements.
John M. 'Rock' Rice
Born Nov. 10, 1943, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late George Guy and Marian (Taylor) Rice.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Byron (Marcia) Gray, Port Royal.
He was a 1961 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal, and a graduate of Williamsport Technical School.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Harrisburg, as a printer.
He was a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. Richard H. Burchfield officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
There will be no viewing, but family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Harold H. 'Henny' Rice
Born Feb. 15, 1925, in Tuscarora, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Homer S. and Mary Jane (Sheaffer) Rice. His wife, Ethel A. (Leister) Rice, whom he married Feb. 19, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: children, John H. Rice, Port Royal, Samuel David Rice, Mount Union, Richard H. Rice, Cynthia A. Pannebaker, Hazel J. Rauch, all of Port Royal RR3, James L. Rice, Mifflin HC67, Connie Gloss, Honey Grove RR1, and Janet M. Zeiders, Mifflintown; brother and sisters, Shelley Rice and Dorothy Beasom, both of Port Royal RR3, and Mary Jane Varner, McAlisterville; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
He was a retired cabinet maker.
He attended Cornerstone Community Church, Mifflintown RR4.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Albert Gray, the Rev. William Luckadoo and the Rev. Charles Sheaffer officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown RR4, with full military honors conducted by the Juniata County Veteran's Council.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Nellie E. Richard
Born Dec. 9, 1911, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Houser) Longwell. Her husband, Donald C. Richard, died Feb. 17, 1967.
Surviving are: children, Don E. Richard, Burnham, Karl E. Richard, McVeytown, William K. Richard, W. Va., Mrs. Earl (Mary) Boreman, Newport, Daniel W. Richard, Ohio, Steve R. Richard and Toby L. Richard, both of Thompsontown; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Walters; a son, Stanley Richard; four brothers and three sisters.
She was a housewife.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Larry Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Sadie E. Richard
Born Oct. 4, 1907, in Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Laura (Hoffman) Weimer. Her husband, David S. Richard, died May 9, 1984.
Surviving are: children, Jay W. Richard, 470 Dry Valley Road, Lewistown, Carl R. Richard, 2 Connie Drive, Mechanicsburg, Mrs. Harold (Joanne) Price, Harrisburg, David S. Richard Jr., Newark, Del., Harold "Huck" L. Richard, Mount Grove, Bloomsburg, and Mrs. David (Vesta) Breneman, Granville; two sisters, Goldie Goss, Kish Apartments, Lewistown, and Dolly Goss, Back Maitland Road, Lewistown; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Louise Richard in 1934, three brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of Maitland Church of the Brethren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maitland Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Charles L. Eldredge officiating. Interment will be in Maitland Brethren Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.

PORT ROYAL - John M. "Rock" Rice, 56, of Port Royal RR1, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home.
