Born Dec. 16, 1975, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Ronald D. Leister, Port Royal and the late Barbara A. (Kurtz) Leister, who died Nov. 4, 1984.
Also surviving are: sons, Tyler Dean Singer and Derrick Lee Singer, both of Mifflintown, and Christian Michael Beane, New Hudson, Mich.; sisters, Wanda Kay Leister, McAlisterville and Julie Ann Leister, Mifflintown RR2.
She attended the Juniata High School, Mifflintown and was a graduate of the Academy of Medical Arts and Science, Harrisburg.
She was a certified nursing assistant having worked for Perry Village in New Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Walker Township, Juniata County.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Margaret A. 'Peg' Singer
Born Nov. 24, 1916, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Margaret E. (Burd) Duncan. Her husband, Ray Singer, whom she married July 14, 1935, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Kenneth Singer, Hughesville, Marjorie Fronk, McAlisterville RR2, Janet Willow, Millerstown, and Dorothy Jean Hogland, Richland; brother and sister, Charles Duncan, Mifflintown, and Helen Heckman, Lewistown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Duncan; two sisters, Dorothy Kochenderfer and Ruth Duncan; and a granddaughter, Samantha Singer.
She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for the Richfield Garment Factory, Richfield, and the L. Shellenberger and Sons Garment Factory, McAlisterville.
She was a member of Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, McAlisterville RR1.
She enjoyed sewing, making rugs and comforters, having yard sales and going to auctions.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ronald C. Sheaffer Funeral Home, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. Graham C. Fowler and Pastor Elwood O. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Goodwill Cemetery, McAlisterville RR1.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services today at the funeral home.

Margeratta J. Skiles
Born Sept. 18, 1921, in Burnham, she was a daughter of the late Reed and Marie (McCardel) Henry. Her husband, Marvin E. Skiles, whom she married Oct. 5, 1937, died April 24, 1998.
Surviving are: children, Bonita M. Bausinger and Marvin R. Skiles, both of Williamsport, Edward R. Henry, Denver, Colo., Larry H. Skiles, Millheim, and Robert D. Skiles, Avis; a sister, Dorothy Martens, Marcellus, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Irene Henry.
She was an active member of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Williamsport, and enjoyed cooking and baking.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, Millheim, with the Rev. David Reinwald officiating. Interment will be in Salem UCC Cemetery, Spring Mills.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.

George R. 'Rich' Slack
Born April 13, 1913, in Centre Hall, he was the son of the late George B. and Sara Anna (Tressler) Slack. His wife, Hazel (Vonada) Slack of Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Ruth Ann Williams, State College, Debra Kay Redin, Centre Hall, Nevin R. Slack, Lamar, and Harold A. Slack, Sumter, N.C.; two grandsons whom he raised, Ronald Marlatt, Virginia Beach, Va. and Steven Marlatt, Madisonburg; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a stepsister, Kathryn Hommel, State College; stepbrothers, Harold Reish, Lebanon and George Reish, State College; and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine Slack Marlatt Bartlebaugh.
He attended Gregg Township High School.
He worked in road construction for J.M. Philips Construction Company in Muncy; Reichenbach and Long Construction Company in Shamokin Dam; George M. Brewster Construction Company in Bugota, N. J.; He also worked as a manufacturing foreman and loaded TNT for the U.S. Rubber Company in Allenwood during World War II. He then worked as a boring mill operator at Standard Steel and later for Industrial Forge and Steel Company in Canton, Ohio. While serving as a forest ranger, he also worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Forest and Waters as superintendent of Poe Valley State Park for two years until his retirement in 1975.
He also owned and operated Vacation Acres camping and mobile home park in Poe Valley for many years.
He attended Brush Valley Mennonite Church.
He was a member of the VFW Post 9575 in Potters Mills, the American Legion in Milroy, the Miles Township Fire Co., and a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1270 in Mifflinburg.
He was devoted to the preservation of the Mountain Cemetery, rural Spring Mills and was instrumental in forming the Spring Mills Fish and Game Commission.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, with the Rev. Marvin M. Freed officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Hazel E. Slack
Born Sept. 7, 1913, in Penn Township, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Sumner W. and Elizabeth E. (Keene) Vonada. Her husband, George R. Slack, whom she married Jan. 23, 1932, died March 29, 1999.
Surviving are: children, Ruth Ann Williams, State College, Debra Kay Redin, Centre Hall, Nevin R. Slack, Lamar, and Harold A. Slack, Sumter, SC; two grandsons, whom she raised, Ronald Marlatt, Virginia Beach, Va. and Steven Marlatt, Madisonburg; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadine Slack Marlatt Bartlebaugh.
She attended Spring Mills High School.
She worked at Spring Mills Silk Mill for several years, as a cook at the Holiday Inn in Canton, Ohio for three years, and later as a cook at the Eutaw House in Potters Mills, retiring in 1976.
Early in life, she attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church, was a member of the ladies auxiliary of VFW Post 9575, Potters Mills and Women of the Moose, Chapter 1270, Mifflinburg.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, with the Rev. Marvin M. Freed officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim.

Donna L. Slemons
Born April 3, 1934, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Mildred C. (Wilson) Snyder.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Ralph (Linda) Aitkin, Old Stage Road, Lewistown, Mrs. Richard (LaRue Gail) Royer, South Ridgely Avenue, Lewistown, Lynn Bryan Slemons, Blanchard, Pa., Mrs. Thomas (Pamela) Ross, Valley Street, Lewistown, and Robert E. Slemons, Camp Hill; sister and brother, Mrs. Raymond (Dolores) Houser, Valley View Avenue, Lewistown and Dale R. Snyder, Kish Apartments, Lewistown; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown, and City Hook and Ladder Fire Co.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Derald Stump officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown.

Doris J. Smeltzer
Born Dec. 7, 1922, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Helen M. (Hannon) Schmidt. Her husband, Max Smeltzer, died January 1999.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. James (Maxine) Spriggle, Laurel, Md.; sister, Peggy Davidson, Newark, Del.; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
She worked as an office clerk for A&P Markets in Delaware during the 50s and 60s.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, Wilmington, Del. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, Del.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the chapel.

Annie S. Smith
Born March 11, 1916, in Bratton Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Ruth (Kauffman) French. Her husband, Harry C. Smith, whom she married May 1, 1937, survives.
Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Peachey, and Mrs. Timothy (Helen) Peachey, both of Belleville, Mrs. Mervin (Janet) Zendt, Mifflintown RR2; brothers and sisters, Mark E. French, Samuel J. French, Harry J. French Sr., and Mary Alice French, all of McVeytown, David W. French, Mattawana, Jesse A. French, Lewistown, J. Paul French, Davidsville, and Raymond E. French, Kansas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy R. Kenepp, on Sept. 1, 1993, and two brothers, Andy French and Charles French.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mattawana Mennonite Church with the Rev. M. Leon Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, and from 9:30 a.m. until the services Wednesday at the church.
